So I’m going to introduce two new category (”downloads” and “software”) where I either introduce a new free software (usually open-source or free), or I zip a bunch of stuff and upload it here so you guys can download it (MGS artbook, anyone?). Leave comments if you’re interested.
So without further ado, here’s the first “software” blog: Direct Folders.
Direct Folders [from Code Sector], a great little program that is very usefull for those who download a lot. You know how each time you want to save a file, you have to navigate through all you drives and folders to find the right place? Well, why not create a shortcut to the most recent and frequently used folders? The shortcuts you create show up by double-clicking on any white pace (desktop, “save as” dialog box, folders, etc). It looks just like the left-click menu.
Configuring is extremely simple. Just browse for your target folder and name it. Done. There are extra features (adding a seperator or hot-keys) as well. Direct Folders is free for home users, buy you can buy the pro version which comes with extra features (add icons, drive specs, etc).
Installation is easy too. Leave everything to default setting and just hit Next until it finishes installing. If you want, you can do what I did and create a shortcut in your Startup, so it starts up automatically every time you start Windows.
Direct Folders is a great program. Light-weight and simple. You’ll use it a lot if your keep your files organized, like me.
You can download Direct Folder from the official site.

I save everything to my documents. So I have no use for this program. I do like these blogs about software.

A good read, and a program that I might actually use, considering just how much crap I save to this darn computer.
