Finals are here! This is always my favorite week of school. Hehe~ When are your finals and what are they?
I have two finals: US History and foreign language.
US History shouldn’t be a problem. For the previous exam, I didn’t study at all and managed to got a B-. The teacher recommended that we read the text book and study our notes, but the hell with that. The book is so damn boring that you’d fall asleep reading it. I just flipped through my notes and that’s it. Hopefully, I’ll do well on the final too.
Now, the foreign language class I’m talking is a different story. The finals has two parts, 400 points in total, takes 3 hours and contains the following:
- Listening
- Particles
- Verb Conjugation
- Verb Structure
- Reading and Writing
- Noun Modifiers
- Reading Comprehension
- Situational Application
- Translation from English
- Translation to English
Is this fun, or what?

The hell with school. Nah, but looking back, I wasn’t ready for college. I was too lazy. Did I say “was”? Hahaha. My last quarter at UC Davis, I failed almost every damn class. I was busy, ummm…getting busy. Starting my family. You know what I mean. Somehow my wife gave birth and got her bachelors degree there.
I ended up going to Sacramento City College and getting a diploma in Audio Recording or whatever the hell it’s called. Those were cool finals. Sitting in a studio mixing some sorry ass local band, or my favorite class - the teacher’s real job was writing soundtracks - he taught as a thing on the side. I remember he sent us a video to score, only to re-edit it the night before it was due, saying, “This is how it really is and you just have to deal with it.”

Your foreign language class final exam reminds me of the JLPT. Except, it had less stuff, with the same time frame and number of points.

I had two finals. Thank goodness they were easy, as I had to write two big papers before that.
