The group is confronted by a vagrant Proxy and its companion AutoReiv. Re-l gets to put her new weapon to use.
There is a little bit of flash back in the beginning of this episode: we see Vincent and Re-l talking in the same place we last saw them in the previous episode. Re-l is asking about Proxy, thinking Vincent is “summoning” it, but Vincent tells her the truth… that he is the Proxy. He then gets on his ship and leaves.
Not believing him, Re-l decided to follow him with her ship. They arrive in a cave-like place where they decide to take a rest. Re-l, knowing Pino is infected with Cogito Virus, tells Iggy to stay inside the ship. After Re-l leaves the ship, Iggy says something like “But it’s already too late”. Does that mean he’s infected with the Cogito Virus already?! Hmmm~
Re-l and Vincent talk some more while they’re sitting in front of fire. Pino is there too, but Re-l tells her to go someplace else. Looks like they’re not gonna along~ (Pino keeps referring to her as “scary lady” when talking to Vincent).
Re-l goes back to her ship and we have a little flash back again. We see Daedalus giving her e special bullet that’s designed to kill Proxies. He asks her to test it out, but Re-l says her first priority is to capture it alive. These bullets are harmless to human (that is, if you shoot them in a non-vital spot), but they kill Proxies as soon as they get hit.
Still not believing Vincent, she decided to test the bullet. She goes to Vincent’s ship where he was sleeping. She points the gun at him, but she has a change of heart. She sits next to him and confess a bunch of stuff (at this time, Vincent is awake, but he pretends he’s still sleeping). All the sudden Vincent grabs Re-l and throws her on the floor. He kinda mounts on top of her and says “I love you!”… o.O … Re-l’s all like “WTF?!”.
He confesses his love for her, but Re-l is too busy covertly tring to take out her gun and shoot him. She drops the gun which makes a loud noise. In an attempt to distract Vincent from noticing the gun, she goes for a kiss… o.O
At this time, an unknown figure comes in their ship and starts stealing food. Vincent chases after him/her, but he gets away. Re-l goes back to her ship and tells Iggy that they’re going to keep following them until she finds the truth. She also says that she’s planning on playing Vincent as he’s in love with her.
During this, Pino, who was wondering around, finds the person who stole food from Vincent. She tries to talk to him, but she doesn’t get any responses. But all the sudden, Pino realizes there’s a second person right in front of her… a Proxy. She screams and runs away. Re-l, who was close by, hears her scream and goes to investigate.
Vincent feels the other Proxy and automatically transforms (partially) into Ergo Proxy. He confronts the other Proxy right when it was about to attack Pino and Re-l. Vincent still has his human form at this time, but once he starts attacking the other Proxy, he completely transforms (and remember, Re-l and Pino where watching).
Ergo Proxy is kicking ass, but for a split second he gets distracted (memory of Re-l kissing her comes to his mind) and the other Proxy knocks him down to the ground. It is about to finish Ergo Proxy off when we hear a gunshot. Re-l has shot one of those special bullets at the other Proxy. The Proxy falls down in agony as if it was having a heart attack. After a few seconds, it dies.
Re-l then walks up to Vincent with her gun pointed at him and says that she wants to kill him. Vincent’s expression changes as if he was possessed. He walks up to her slowly as if he’s about to kill her, but then Vincent takes control of himself (or should I say Ergo Proxy) and stops. Re-l says that she’s not going to kill him until she finds out the whole truth. She orders Iggy to take the other Proxy back to Romdo, but Iggy thinks she should come back too, but she says not… her plan is to go with Vincent to Mosk where she can discover the truth about Proxies.
