In the previous episode, we were left off with Vincent opening his eyes for the first time as he was being approached by a Proxy. The episode begins with Vincent being unconscious on the train. He’s dreaming about an unknown figure.
Apparently, he’s always seeing the same dream: an unknown figure standing and Vincent being sad and crying. Each time he tries to take a close look at this unknown figure (which looks a lot like the Proxy that attacked Re-l in her bathroom), he wakes up.
Re-l has been trying to contact Vincent ever since she found his necklace in her bathroom. She wants to know if there is a connection between Vincent and Proxy.
When Vincent wakes up, he gets a call from his Entourage, Dorthy, who asks him to come and see her. Having no one else to turn to, Vincent goes to his work place to meet her, even thought it’s very late at night. While he’s in the building, he sees a familiar AutoReiv on the monitors that has been infected with the Cogito virus and is being pursued by the agency. This is Pino, the same AutoReiv he checked up in episode one and again met her in episode two.
Vincent finds his Entourage on the floor. She was destroyed by the agency. They used her to drag Vincent here, so they can capture him. After a little pursuit, Vincent manages to get away by jumping through a window. He decided to leave the city and go back to where he came from. But that’s easier said than done.
Due to the extremely polluted conditions outside of the dome, every exit is shut and protected. Vincent’s attempt to escape fail as every exit he tried was blocked. This is when he meets Pino, the AutoReiv that was also being pursued. She guides him through the maze until they find an exit. This is when Re-l shows up and confronts Vincent. She asks him what his necklace was doing in her apartment and about the Proxy. But Vincent says he doesn’t know anything.
All the sudden, Raul, the Director-General of the Bureau, shows up with armed forces to capture Vincent. But before he could do anything, Pino opens the gate to the outside world. As the door opens, it starts to suck in everyone and everything. Re-l’s Entourage, Iggy, jumps in and grabs Re-l so she doesn’t get sucked in, but Vincent and Pino are outside of the gates now. Re-l and the Bureau can’t get their hands on him now. Raul’s Entourage, Kristeva, closes the gate because having the gates open endangers the entire city.
As Vincent is falling down, he opens his eyes again. Just like last time, his expression is different now. Re-l sees him like this for the first time.
