So here I'm gonna try to explain the award system... but before that, let me point out that you can always check your point and whatnot through QUICK MENU > VBExperience

Awards
The award system gives medals to users who meet a pre-defined criteria. For example, the Community Award is given to members based on their Friends, Reputation, Social Groups, and visitor Messages. These points are automatically calculated and given.

Right now, we have four awards:

More Medals
We can have more awards based on almost anything. You guys are more than welcome to make suggestions. I managed to find around 30 medals (all anime looking... hehe). Example:
