Well if the anime board has one so should the RPG tournament board. So, who else would you have nominated had your first choice been unavailable?
Mine is the wanderer (Vault 101 Dweller) from Fallout 3!

Sir Auron, from Final Fantasy X.

Auron already won season one, and as such is ineligible.
I'd totally sponsor a slew of disgaea characters.

Thank you for that, I would never have known that if you had not informed me- in spite of having taken part since Season 6. This thread states at the top that it is understood that our first choice is unavailable.

I nearly chose the main character from the PS1 RPG Beyond the Beyond as a joke. I think his name was Fynn or Flynn or something like that. If I remember correctly Beyond the Beyond was the first RPG on the PS1 and it is quite possibly the worst RPG I've ever played.
I also almost chose Zell from FFVIII. I couldn't stand him, but his limit break is extremely powerful if used correctly.

You are close on the main character's name: Finn.
And I agree that it is likely one of the worst Role Playing Games ever released. Thank God that Final Fantasy VI, VII, VIII, and Star Ocean: The Second Story were not long in following.

I find it hard to believe that the same team that worked on Beyond the Beyond also did both Golden Sun games. It boggles my mind.

I believe that Camelot is a decent developer; they just needed some help in the plotline department. So they took a Norse myth and turned it into a series of video games. Which are to this day the best hand-held RPGs ever released.

Wild Arms was one of the first ones too ,and that was awesome! My other Nominee would be Rudy from Wild Arms! =D

If I couldn't pick Viola, I would have gone with Count Waltz from Eternal Sonata.

He's one of the most difficult bosses in the game. He'll try to get behind your characters and attack them, has three powerful spells, the most deadly being Apocalypse Fall, and has an insane laugh.

You underestimate their power! Moogle's are like the Ottsels from Jak and Daxter!

Anyone who beat Jak 3 should get that.

Though I would be careful where it points its knife and shakes its lantern.
I would have picked Pikachu. He'd totally kick your ass.

It's a good thing you didn't then. I'm sorry, Ed -- you're a cool guy and all, but if you had picked Finn, I'm afraid I would have had no choice but to launch you into the Pit of Eternal Rosie O'Donnell.

Actually, a Tonberry might possibly be a worthy opponent. At least they have some abilities, unlike some other Final Fantasy creations (*cough, cough*)

I'm just going to laugh and pretend that you're on some of reality TV show that requires you to say such things. :)

Moogles... can actually be pretty deadly.
I mean, look at all the possible forms they have! FF6's Mog has the dancing and the awesome spear equipment options. FF9's Mog turned into Eiko's summon Madeen. And of course, the FFTA series Moogles have all the Moogle job options that status the hell out of people. Not to mention being one of the mage-races of the series. They're not much for durability, but they're fast and damaging with deadly status. Montblanc might be a decent pick.

I forgot about Montblanc! Thank you for reminding me about Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

So... nomination time is almost up, right?
Are the runners up in this topic going to get preference for a slot in the tourney over the random previous competitors?

Yep. June 8th will be the last day to select a character. I'll probably spend the rest of that week announcing the random characters since we have quite a few empty spots remaining. If all goes well, the first set of matches should take place on Sunday, June 14th. We're almost there.
And to answer your question, no, the characters mentioned here do not get special treatment. The extra character slots will be filled out randomly. It's more fair that way, you know?

I was very tempted to entire Rosalyn from Okage: Shadow King. She's easily my favorite character in the game so far (aside from Stan). You'd like her Alucard. She carries a rapier, a pink parasol and has a pink shadow.

But I don't know enough about her yet, plus pictures of her are hard to get. So I figured I'd wait.

Sorry you don't like the artist's style. But typically, those are the kinds of thoughts we usually prefer to keep inside our heads.
