Dogmeat is awesome, and the hospital is fun to go around and kill all those super mutants.

Level 11.5, nice. I'm up to 16.

About the radio frequency with people that need help, I'm not sure if you read my other reply to your thing about this. You won't be able to do help those guys until you get to the quest named "Reilly's Rangers."

AmuroRay

Ya, saw that. Thanks.

I'm going to finish the hospital, but I can't decide where to go next. There's a spot near uh.......Nova Station [Think that's the name] I need to explore. Underground. Lots of ghouls. Ironically, I blew up a the inside of the tunnel with a 'nade. Caused a chain reaction. It was hilarious.

I still have to deliver Lucy's message to her brother. I tried it once before, trying to kill everyone. The main dude, who's holding him, I couldn't kill, plus he kept killing Dogmeat.

Luckily, I had an older save, so I went back the way I came, killed one of the guards, took all the stuff [mostly because there was like, 9 pieces of Scrap Metal there].

I'm assuming I have to go in guns a-blazing, so hopefully I'll be ready soon. I am about 3 or 4 levels higher now.

And Amuro, aren't you glad you got Dogmeat? He's so helpful. Just make sure you watch his health.

And you found him with my directions yes?

Yeah, Found Dogmeat with your directions. Thank you. Also about the dude holding Lucy's bro, I recommend you not killing them, cause I think I know you like melee, and he'll give you schematics on an awesome Melee weapon. On Top of that, you can sell some specific stuff to him for some caps. I won't say what thing though.

AmuroRay

That would be the mutiliated corpses then?

I've actually turned into more of a gun-toting guy anyway.

I killed the outerguard on my way out, so I'm a little scared, because I'm expecting that they will probably be a little *mad* at that.

Also, where do I sell the Bloodpacks to?

I hope it isn't some Ghoul, because I totally murdered one guy who definitely owned a shop. It was on one of the underground railroads, near the kids I believe.

It wasn't the guys who need the sugar bombs though. I deliver it to them.

Also, how do I get the kid then? The dude wouldn't let me talk to him.

You sell the Blood packs to the dudes in meresti, or the people that you are about to kill.

About the Kid, I'll come back to you about that.

I'm making a push towards the end of the main quest. Currently, I only have one side-quest and it's a boring one (the Nuka Cola Challenge).

I'm going through Little Lamplight right now and, going through Vault 87 right now. I'm not going to say much, cuz I don't want to ruin the game for people who haven't reached it yet, but man, wonder why Super Mutants roam the Wasteland? You won't much longer. I also reached Fawkes, the friendly Super Mutant.

Yeah. Hopefully my machine can run it well enough.

Before I quit playing Fallout 3, I totally skipped the whole Radio station part of the "Finding Dad" quest because I was randomly roaming around and happened upon Rivet City (as a level 7 guy). So I talked to the scientists there and stuff which caused me to completely miss out on the Radio part.

Dogmeat sucks. He can't carry shit and his attack is weak as fuck.

Use Fawkes or Charon instead.

I finished the game today. Wow. I don't get all the complaints about the ending being bad, I thought it was a good way to end it.

It could've been better, but it isn't anti-climatic either.

I have one question before I start this game: does it have the stupid time restriction the first Fallout had? Because the only reason I didn't love the original as much as I wanted was the stupid 150-day time limit.

AmuroRay
01-02-2009, 03:18 AM
Nope, I never came across any time limit in FO3.

Thank God. I'm excited again.

Okay, what the BITCH.

I need a battery?!

I came across the place from the Hospital, fought my way through, and met the guys. I looked on all the levels I could get to, and there wasn't a single one.

Considering I spent most of an hour and half looking around the area for the damn battery. I never found it.

I'm assuming it's on the bottom part of the hotel, that you can get to before having to go to through the Hospital to get there.

Am I assuming right? Or is there one hidden? I never saw a bot, and I'm sure I looked around everywhere. I guess I'll have to use my last save in the hospital, and bring a battery with me, as I can't get out from the building. Kinda stupid really.

It's somewhat hidden, but really close to the roof, once you get in the door to go inside the Restaurant, there is like an open door with a dead Protectron kinda like under the stairs, like on the right side. Damn, I can't really explain it but it's in that room.

AmuroRay
01-02-2009, 04:00 AM
...Alright. I'll look again tomorrow.

Next spot = Basement under the hospital. Or rather a staircase going to the sewers[?] I'm guessing?

hold on....you are at the Hospital.

And you found Reilly's Rangers there?

Cause I found them at the Statesman hotel.

AmuroRay
01-02-2009, 04:27 AM
No, no no.

You are getting mixed up. I'm in the Statesman Hotel right now, or at least, the top part.

I got there through the hospital though....as did you probably.

I just meant, I might have to go back to my old save in the hospital if I couldn't find the battery.

Ahhhh, ok. Then emit the last post I did, and do what I said before.

Finally installing!!

A question before I jump in: how are you guys playing it? Are you using VATS, or playing it like an FPS. I'm leaning toward VATS, but I just wanted some first-hand opinions.

Heiae
01-03-2009, 01:53 AM
Well, you can use either at any time. It all comes down to the situation and how much AP you have.

Both have their uses.

You'll be using VATS a lot. It's not like a real FPS-- even if your cursor is dead-on the target, there's still gonna be times you miss just because, y'know, it's an RPG.

KomodoAce
01-03-2009, 03:07 AM
I use both. When I run out of AP due to my character's shitty accuracy (or having excellent accuracy with a metal post in the path of my bullets), I switch to standard FPS style killing.

ReverendHobo
01-03-2009, 04:35 AM
VATS is real nice once you get your accuracy up. Once I hit level 20 I had a 95% to hit everything from about medium range most of the time.

But for the long range shots, use the hunting rifle (or one of it's unique variants), or lincolns repeater. Both of those have a 0% shot spread, so every shot goes straight to the reticule. (Like Glass Adam said, some guns have a built in spread.)

ReverendHobo
01-03-2009, 04:53 AM
Oh yeah.

Oh, and I highly recommend getting Lincoln's repeater as soon as possible. It's amazing, take the accuracy of the hunting rifle and power of the .44 magnum, and you got one bitchin' rad gun.

I rented it again. But, I may not get to it because I also rented PoP.

So true, but I have to find more ammo.

I'm gonna be getting the sniper perk and ninja perk when I level up another two.

I'm doing some quest where you gotta find the Family for some guy on a highway, and I can't find them for the life of me. He gives me three possible locations, and I think he wants me to go at night, but I've checked each and I haven't found anything. I can't remember the exact names, but I'll come back here tomorrow or sometime later with details...

AmuroRay
01-04-2009, 03:58 AM
There's so much to do in this game........

So, I finally found my way back to the kids place....whatever it's called.....where Lucy West's brother is.

And I was right, they started shooting me on site.

Too bad my Combat Shotgun left their brains all over the place.

Much better way to go anyways. I continually lose karma for taking stuff, but there's so much awesome stuff here. I picked up that schematic off the guys dead body too. He has some bitching stuff. Not to mention the like, 40 pieces of Scrap Metal, and large amounts of guns, and armor in the place. Had to travel back to Megaton, already, to dump some of it off.

Going back to find the kid tonight though...and pick more stuff up.

Ah yes, Arefu. I've stolen stuff from there.

Also, PSRT, Dude on a highway.......near what place?

PSRT
01-04-2009, 04:02 AM
It's near Megaton...I'm pretty sure it's Arefu. It's the town sheriff, or something, that all the residents think is a wimp.

AmuroRay
01-04-2009, 04:06 AM
Arefu is like way north though of Megaton...

Perhaps it's Springvale? Bigtown?

AmuroRay
01-04-2009, 04:09 AM
He means Arefu. He's doing the West Quest. I suggest avoiding that for a while, as the enemies getting to that area [including Raiders] can give you some problems.

And I meant the Families Base. I wiped the floor with everyone in there.

Anyways, tonight, I finished collecting the stuff in the Families Base, explored some more Tunnels, then went to the Memorial for part of the Book quest. Also explored the Tepid Sewers finally, getting my long-awaited Power-Glove to use as a new-back-up in combat.

I'm also level 13.5 now.

And I purchased all the themes from Crater Supply. That medical one and Drug one are extremely helpful. They save you tons of coins.

You are doing what Komodo did. Doing sidequests. You are leveling up fast dude. I'm guessing you are trying to get to a higher level before you leave for school? Or you bringing your PS3?

The Families.....Meresti?

ReverendHobo
01-04-2009, 04:54 AM
Yeah, if you're looking for the family then you want to go to the meresti train yard. I'd suggest being around 10 or so before going there though, there's raiders and such in the tunnels.

Speaking of Oblivion, It's hard as hell to find, especially the GOTY edition..I saw it in Circuit City but overpriced at $60. Rip-Off.

PSRT
01-04-2009, 01:28 PM
My local EB has it for $30 used, which still seems a little much, but I haven't seen the GOTY edition in a while. Personally, I don't think the Shivering Isles quests are that interesting, so if you can find the original, you'll still have more game than you could ever finish.

Shivering Isles isn't that interesting? Cause I can find the original for Greatest Hits for only $20 in Wal-Mart.

My buddy picked it up and I played through it with him, and I enjoyed it, it just wasn't leaps and bounds above the base game. Of course, if you can find the GOTY edition for $10 or so more than you would pay for the Greatest Hits, it's worth it, however, it just doesn't significantly increase the amount of content you get to play around with. I mean, the new island is about a quarter the size of Cyrodiil, and if I had to guess I would say the quests take about the same time to complete as one or maybe two of the faction quest lines.

If you really want to play Oblivion right now, you won't be disappointed by the original. If you can wait, though, and find the GOTY at a similarly inexpensive price, it would definitely be worth it.

I see, cause I see at Wal-Mart the GOTY edition is $29.99. I have the money, but it's limited stock in a Walmart about 20 min from my place. While the original is like only 5 min away from my hands. Hell, I can even take my bike. Lol, Knight is not gonna like us talking about Oblivion in his FO3 thread. HAHAHAH

Not sure if I mentioned it here before, but the Mysterious Stranger popped up to help me one time, but for some reason I was still in the middle of shooting an enemy in VATS and I killed my Mysterious Stranger.

He blew up :|

Luckily, it wasn't permanent.
