Oh, HTML works just fine on 1up, you simply have to know how to implement, which most people had difficulty figuring out. 1up's editors are not by any means WYSIWYG, so you have to know what exactly you ARE getting based on what you see. But it is still a chore.

I put up with it for the longest time, but I just got tired of doing it that way and realized that other places did HTML more efficiently. The fact that it took 1up 4 years to implemented the ability to preview posts is just inexcusable.

Since Brian over there is an honest to god moderator with moderator powers over here, I'm not as worried about revealing this here fact as I was over on 1up. (And your all good peeps right?)

For those of you who aren't already aware...the vs banners that have been in the Anime Tournament for the past several seasons are of my design. (With heavy collaboration from Brian of course!)

But I ain't here to stroke my own ego...

Some of you...pick some pretty obscure characters, and finding usable images of them is a bit of a chore for me, every time.

So, I ask that if you'd be so kind, you send me usable images of your character. I'll be picture hunting anyway...but you can save me time and work if you send me some! (And you may end up with more then 1-2 different ones...anyone ever notice how all my characters always have 4-7? You can too!) If I've tried to find something for your character and am having some issues...I'll PM you directly. You can send as many as you like...or if you have a specific one you absolutely must have, send me that one!

Ideally I would like TWO dynamic shots of said fighter, preferably with backgrounds of some kind that are free of text. (Try to avoid having other people in the background...but if they are there...as long as it's not excessive..it's fine)

Ideal size is 307x202 pixels or larger. (If larger, I will crop or shrink them.)

Time to announce the results of our voting incentive! If you're unfamiliar with it, here's the way it works. I keep track of the number of times each Foxkei member votes on a match throughout the season. At the end of the season, I tally up all the votes that have been cast during the entire competition. The three people who voted on the most matches will be permitted to sponsor an extra character when Season 12 rolls around in early September. The number next to your name is the total number of matches you voted upon (in both the Anime Tournament and the RPG Tournament) throughout Season 11.

Congrats to Runepop, WanderingMind, and Scion_of_Life for winning our voting incentive of the season. When Season 12 arrives, the three of you will be permitted to sponsor either two anime characters and one RPG character or two RPG characters and one anime character -- whichever you prefer. Good job.

Having said that, I have to commend everyone for the amount of votes we received this season. The top spots all ended up being quite close, and a few extra votes here and there could have really shaken things up. If you fell short of the top three, there's no need to fret. Just be sure to vote a bit more frequently in the next season and you could win the incentive as well!

I've said this before, but I'd like to run a joke character tournament, where people pick the weakest characters in any given show to see who would actually win. Things would be a lot more laid back than the actual tournament and the brackets will be smaller. I'd say 8 or 10 spots so I won't have to do it for long.

Nope. She has been in season one, season nine, and season eleven.

In those three appearances, she's made it to the Semi-Finals twice and the Finals once. That's why her record is so high.

I am looking for somebody to replace me and write periodic match descriptions alongside WanderingMind and AlucardsFate for the next season or two.

If you'd like to write match descriptions, simply send me a PM and I'll give you all the details. You will need to write descriptions for eight characters per week, but you will have an entire week to get them done and they will all need to be posted at the same time. I will be providing assistance in the form of links and character info sent in by the sponsors, so you won't be completely alone in your info gathering.

Interested description writers will need to be able to meet a deadline and remain flexible in the event of match extensions. If nobody steps up to the plate and offers to write match descriptions, then we simply won't have any for the upcoming season. I'd rather not ask Alucard and WM to do the work of three people since that just isn't fair to them.

There have been 11 completed Anime Tournaments. I have been in the finals of 6 of them. I won 3. (In a row) So a little over 50% of the finals have had me in them....I AM AWESOME.

Ummm...in my case, I guess I prefer a good balance. Usually I just pick characters I like that excel at something (being particularly strong, fast, or intellegent, crafty) while having a good round of other stats.

This. Also, they're way too big. We have an unofficial size limit of sorts to prevent gigantic fighters from winning all their matches by just stepping on their opponents. Would it be fair for someone like, say, Spike Spiegel to have to fight 50-foot-long poisonous caterpillar? Or a 100-foot-tall giant samurai?

Kurotsuchi and Komamura are still perfectly eligible, of course. They just won't be able to use their bankai abilities, that's all.

Clarification: my first stated reason (that which concerns the ring out) refers to the monstrous sizes of the creatures causing the ring out simply because they're so massive.

The other exception has also been one of my fighters, Kakuzu. Kakuzu possesses 5 hearts, each from a different elementally attuned ninja, earth, fire, water, wind, and lightning. While Kakuzu must at least keep one heart within his body at all times, he can split the other 4 hearts out so that they can fight as stringy threadlike beings imbued with their elemental ninjutsu. They are not summoned creatures as technically they are a part of Kakuzu's body, and it has been allowed.

I think we should spread the word about the tournaments on other sites. We got pretty much everyone from 1up, so we should reach out to other places. The tourneys could use some fresh participants.

If we have enough people wanting to sponsor character, which I doubt will happen, we can get rid of the voting incentive to make room for new people.

Inuyasha...only has a few attacks...not incredibly versatile. Not to mention he's brash and impulsive...not bright at all. The few attacks he has...he can't use intelligently. Usually he's just ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK! and hopes he pulverizes them. Which is why when he meets an opponent with more finesse, who can play the mental game, he gets his ass handed to him...regularly.

I've never watched the TV series and have no interest in checking it out. The OVA follows the manga, so if you have read the manga, you should at least have a good idea of what Seras is like in Ultimate.

Kuma won fair and sqaure. Having had to taste defeat in these tournaments A LOT, I can empathize with your current situation and I will be the first to admit that I've had my fair share of losses that were difficult for me to swallow. But really, just as it was with all my losses, this win was completely legal. Not to mention I don't recall you having any problem with Kuma before the last match.

Additionally, everyone had a chance to keep him out back at the beginning, and Kuma, again, won fair and sqaure by a coin toss.

I wasn't posting those wiki pages for my health. All the information I provided is explained in better detail, and I allowed everyone an opportunity to make a decision for themselves.

No, I was unaware of Kuma's limitations...and if I could have voted in the last match, I would have voted against Inu-yasha. Why? Simply put, he was outgunned. Did you get the "outgunned" joke? I know, it was lame. I apologize if it came out any other way. In any case, I am harboring no ill will toward anyone or their sponsored character(s) and I concede defeat. That includes Kuma. I guess I will just have to work harder at finding a character that can break the second round drought that I seem to have. Hmmm...

The character nomination phase has ended, so it's time to announce the fighters who have been randomly selected to fill up the empty spots in the roster. These combatants were all taken from the rankings (http://foxkei.com/forums/showthread.php?t=619) and selected using a random number generator. Also, please keep in mind that these characters were selected before I learned of the Dice Roll website (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/). I will implement that resource into the character selection process starting next season.

Our first combatant is no stranger to the Tournament League. Now making his fourth appearance, he has enjoyed mixed success during his time here. The last time we saw him, he was also fighting as a randomly selected character, and he got the most out of that opportunity by scoring a victory against a fighter who bested him in a previous season. Will he enjoy even greater success in season thirteen?

Like Kyo, our next combatant is also no stranger to the League. Now making her sixth appearance, she has become a true mainstay of the competition. Unlike Kyo, though, her success has been unquestionably favorable: she is currently the second highest-rated character in the rankings and has even made it to the Finals on one occasion. Her League experience and her ruthlessness are sure to give her an edge over many of the season's competitors.

Time to announce our next two competitors. First up, we have a cold and calculating homunculus who could prove to be a real roadblock to many competitors this season. Since her body is comprised entirely of water, harming her with physical attacks is going to be virtually impossible. Only a practitioner of the magic arts will be able to put a damper on this watery maiden's championship aspirations.

Our next competitor may have a poor record, but don't be fooled -- he is a deceptively formidable foe. He ran into some back luck in his previous appearance (facing down Yusuke Urameshi in the first round is not the way anybody wants to start the season), but his second chance of greatness seems to have arrived at last. Will he make the most of it or will history repeat itself?

Our next character carries on the proud tradition of paper manipulation utilized by fellow Read or Die combatants Yomiko Readman and Maggie Mui. Don't let her age or her small size fool you; though she may be young, she is a pugnacious warrior who masterfully combines martial arts and deadly paper manipulation into her fearsome arsenal.

Joining Anita will be another warrior whose young age belies incredible skill and precision. Though he is merely a boy, his swordsmanship is truly first-class and his fighting spirit is simply unquenchable. Those who underestimate this talented swordsman will soon find themselves falling victim to his superhuman speed and his precise blade work.

Not yet. The closest we've ever come to that happening was season 10 when Gally made it to the Finals.

New characters ahoy! Our next randomly selected fighter is a deadly sharpshooter with a heart of gold. Beneath her cheerful demeanor lies the heart of a formidable warrior who always finds a way to emerge victorious no matter how unfavorable the odds may seem. Combine that incredible ingenuity with her superhuman reflexes and pinpoint accuracy and you have a fighter who can really do some damage to the opposition this season.

23.) Tendou Rushuna from Grenadier

Next up, we have a determined and wily ninja who has proven her mettle in the League by amassing a favorable record. As the sole representative of Naruto this season, she will certainly be fighting with extra vigor for the sake of her companions. Will her next appearance on the battlefield result in greater success than her inaugural outing? Only time will tell.

I'm probably going to pick at least one character from either Toaru Majutsu no Index or the currently airing Toaru Kagaku no Railgun.

Very high on my list is Misaka Mikoto. A high level esper, Misaka can generate large amounts of electricity and is powerful enough to cause a blackout in a large city. She can make instant railguns by using coins as projectiles, and use electricity to magnetically attract iron particles into a chain-sword whip.

Another possibility, if I want to go through with it, is Kamijo Toma, an otherwise normal boy with a unique ability named Imagine Breaker. With his right hand, Toma is able to negate any magic, psychic, or divine powers but also his own good luck.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Like I mentioned in my last post, it's been a long time since we last saw Luffy fight. His last appearance was season six, if I'm not mistaken; that was more than two years ago. The show is still being broadcast, so I have no doubt that he's gotten a lot stronger in that two-year time period.

Anywho, how about some more fighter announcements? First up, we have Edward Elric's flaky and droll commander from Fullmetal Alchemist. This flame-wielding military leader was soundly defeated by Astro Boy (twice!) way back in season three, but now he has returned to gain some redemption and scorch a few more impudent fools on his way to the top.

27.) Col. Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist

Our next fighter is a true anime icon who (somewhat surprisingly) has only entered the League once before. Though his previous shot at the championship was cut short by Agito Makishima, he now prepares to step back into the fray to score a few big victories for old-school anime heroes everywhere.

all three are good anime in my opinion but naruto is like boarderlined good in fight horrible in everything else.

Yeah, One Piece is popular, but here in the US its seems to be overshadowed by Naruto and Bleach for some reason.

Anyway, I didn't realize just how popular One Piece is. I got this from the One Piece wiki, "In 2009, Shueisha announced that they sold 176 million volumes of One Piece manga so far, making it the highest selling manga in history".

Who knew?...I sure didn't.

This is mostly me. Though I do like the anime too, but I mostly read the manga.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Like I mentioned in my last post, it's been a long time since we last saw Luffy fight. His last appearance was season six, if I'm not mistaken; that was more than two years ago. The show is still being broadcast, so I have no doubt that he's gotten a lot stronger in that two-year time period.

I suppose this is true. However, the last time I sponsored Luffy (I don't recall what Season, but it was here on Foxkei (I'm pretty sure)) he had obtained his Gear Second technique in the anime and he did not move past his first round.

That being said, it wasn't like Luffy didn't lose unjustly in the past. Additionally, this is a new tournament anyway, and as you've said, he's gained quite a bit of skill since the last time he was sponsored.

Also, just so there's something non-One Piece...

Yes...Alex loves him some One Piece...in the same almost scary way ol Alucards loves him some Sailor Moon. (Though it's up to you which is scarier) I've never actually seen One Piece...but I know it's Shonen Jump related...which carries with it some negative connotations. And plus...I know a small part of Alex is annoyed that I won't watch it....that same part is in my head...when he won't watch some uncut Sailor Moon. ...we should like do a 1to1 episode trade or something....:rolleyes:

Luffy has not competed in the League since we left 1up -- until now, that is. But hey, since he has no sponsor this season, that means you can vote on his matches this time.

Alright, time to announce our next fighter. The last time he competed, his championship run was cut short by a first-round loss to Hao Asakura. Now he looks to avenge that unfortunate defeat and show everyone that that loss was merely a fluke.

Oh man, Syaoran was the first character I ever sponsored for the Anime tourney. I think I could actually do a good job at hyping him this time, now that I've watched the two Tsubasa OVAs instead of just the TV anime. Looking back, the TV anime was garbage. I can't stand how Bee Train screwed up the adaptation.
