News that are related to games. This should be interesting. Post any news that you have seen lately that was linked to video games. For example, last year at Black Friday people were injured and even killed because they got trampled on by a mob wanting to buy Xbox 360's. Get it? Here's mine.

Man Stabs Mother of His Children "Hooked" On PlayStation

Malcolm Palmer stabbed the mother of his three children and partner of 30 years after having to sleep on the sofa so she could play Grand Theft Auto on a plasma TV in their bedroom.

That, and the 62-year-old Palmer, who is a retired Heathrow airport employee, had become convinced his 46-year-old partner Carol Cannom was having an affair.

The two had purchased a PlayStation (doesn't specify which one — ditto for GTA) for their 10-year-old son, but Cannom apparently started regular gaming marathons. According to prosecutor John Pini QC, "Carol quickly became hooked. He was very unhappy about the amount of time she was playing on the PlayStation."

He wielded two knives during the attack, stabbing her in the chest 20 times. Their son James called the authorities, and Palmer snatched the phone, saying, "I'm sorry. I think I've killed her."

Defence lawyer Timothy Spencer QC stated to the court, "The genesis of this tragedy bizarrely lies with the purchase of the PlayStation."

No, the genesis did not lie in the purchase of the PlayStation — otherwise, we'd have millions of PlayStation domestic murders. More relevant to the motive, Palmer went berserk last November when Cannom threatened to move out, telling him he'd never see his children again.

This is general chit-chat, not general gaming, videogame related news should go in there. This should be any interesting news, to which I say.

Conficker Virus (http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/132464)

Supposedly a whole military base went on high alert when they realised they had the virus as well. It could apparently make our computers do anything. It draws instructions from thousands of websites online, so it can't really be shut down, you can just hope you don't have it, and that if you do you can get rid of it.

Find out if you have it here (http://www.mcafee.com/us/enterprise/confickertest.html).

EDIT: I don't. :)

Sailor Shot Dead During Video Game

A gaming session ended in death on Wednesday, as Clinton Echols allegedly pointed a gun at his fellow sailor and fired it while playing an unspecified military video game.

Authorities say that 25-year-old Echols was playing a war video game with fellow sailor Louis Urbana on Wednesday afternoon at a San Carlos, California apartment. Police detectives have determined that at some point during game gameplay, Echols pointed a gun at the 20-year-old Urbana. The gun went off and Urbana was shot. According to the police, Echols did not immediately report the shooting, and by the time help arrived Urbana was beyond saving.

Echols was taken into custody later that evening, arrested on suspicion of murder.

While it remains to be seen wheether or not this was a simple accident or a deliberate act, there is a lesson to be learned here. Do not handle firearms when engaged in an activity that requires your fingers to make trigger-pulling movements, or better yet, just don't screw around with loaded weapons.

If a dude stabs his wife twenty times, and then tells the cops "I think I killed her," that has nothing to do with the PS or GTA. That's a gene pool screwup.

Plus, guy is in his 60s. His mental capabilities aren't exactly 100%. And they bought GTA for a ten-year-old. That's just retarded in itself.

But noooo, instead it becomes "THIS GUY HAD PS OMG OMG OMG OMG GTA CAUSED IT!!!!!!11!!!!"
