Dec. 30th, 2008

well, the new year is almost upon us and what better way to celebrate it....than DO IDIOTIC STUFF WITH MY COUSINS!!!!

wit the skateboard crashes here, and the resident evil airsoft there....things seem to never get dull in san fran. And actually, just today, I saw Frost/Nixon, which was a great political movie.

Other than that though, flming stupid events on my cousins camera is a given. Who knows, I might upload the baber failing to do an ollie....BECAUSE HE CAN!!!!

AND HEIAE......the covert operation is not over.

Nor have I. My brother seems to think he's a skater though. Pfft. He's lame. Besides, I'm a much bigger fan of blading. You know, on inline skates.

Riding a bike is something that everybody needs to learn how to do. It's one of life's main requirements. I mean it. If you die and you don't know how to ride a bike, St. Peter will actually send you back just so you can learn how.

It's never too late to learn. You can make it your New Year's resolution to learn how to ride a bike before year's end. At least that one will be easy to keep.

Baberific

I haven't rode a bike in a while. It sure is a lot of fun, though.

Oh boy, Just two days into my 6 week philosophy class, and now I'm starting to question my own morals. Everything I have done to this point has made me think, do I value everyone based solely on what I can gain from them?? Cause it is downright impossible to be completely selfless/altruistic.

heh, I eve spoke my opinion on that same subject today, I made it look as though I was the most selfish person on earth, for I don't even remember the last time I did something completely selfless. It seems I only use people as a means to gain something beneficial to myself.

I thought I was an asshole before....now...I just don't know what to think.

Is the baber truly an immoral person that is subjective all the time??

Hey man.

You're human.

Flesh and blood. As much as I appreciate philosophy and the sayings of wise men, you have to know where to draw the line as to how realistically you can apply it in your own life.

I can't follow everything in the Bible, but I do my best to.

You should have a similar outlook.

Baberific
01-07-2009, 02:55 AM
In a way, I'm also not selfless because according to the bible, me being born is a sin...so basically I have to keep repenting to hope that I even have a chance of getting into heaven. So no matter what, I'm constantly thinking about my own well being.

WanderingMind
01-07-2009, 11:36 PM
I never think of you as an immoral person who is subjective all the time. The way I see it, you should look out for others while being able to stand up for yourself when needed.

KomodoAce
01-08-2009, 12:15 AM
You should worry about yourself first Baber, before worrying about how you relate to others.

As for original sin (the concept that a person is born in sin), I don't believe in that. Can't remember the exact chapter and verse, but there's a passage in the Bible that states that "the father cannot be responsible for the sins of the son and the son cannot be held responsible for the sins of the father".

That original sin stuff? Gives you a guilt trip. Get rid of that garbage. Think positive.

WanderingMind
01-08-2009, 12:29 AM
I never really understood the whole concept of "original sin".

GlassAdam
01-08-2009, 12:35 AM
Original sin-- it's not a sin that we were born, but instead it's like "the sins of the father", so to speak, that we are born with: They ate the apple.

...If I remember right.

KomodoAce
01-08-2009, 12:35 AM
Me neither.

No offense to any Roman Catholics here, but it seems to be a part of the Catholic doctrine. For the glory of the church.

Look at a new born baby.

Can you honestly tell me straight to my face that it has sinned? I don't think so.

EDIT: I understand that, but that's the same thing as saying we "inherit" the sins of our fathers and their forefathers, etc.

It's illogical imho.

Baberific
01-08-2009, 01:46 AM
guh, the whole original "sin" thing..was just being used as an example really.

But still, I feel as though I use others for an instrumental purpose, plain and simple, but hey, I try not to think about it always.

KomodoAce
01-08-2009, 03:18 AM
Everyone uses someone.

Look at the animal world. The food chain. Symbiotic relationships. It's part of life.

If you were on a deserted island, you'd still be using someone or something, whether it be a tree for shelter, fish for food, etc.

Hmmm...it seems that the baber has become "BABERIFIC, THE BABYSITTER!!"

Now at about 4:40 each day, I have to babysit a kid named taylor who's mom is usually at work from 4:30 am to about 7:30 pm. I was sort of reluctant at first....but hearing how I'm gonna be payed for these sessions...some of the tension was relieved.

When I picked him up from school, one of the oddest things happened....a crazy old woman started shouting "NIGGER!!!! NIGGER!!!" while looking at me through her screen door. I was a bit shocked...as well as a bit humored, but other than that I was mostly confused. Anyways, I picked him up while giving all the older girls the "look" and then we started walking home.

I thought I wasn't really gonna be able to talk to him...until I mentioned games...and it turns out that he is a devout player of brawl and of pokemon. That right there was the one defining factor that instantly made me feel that I could relate to him. Funny how something as odd as video games can cause an instant understanding. Either way, on the way back I heard that same crazy woman cackle when we were passing by. It actually turns out, according to taylor, that she once brought a handgun outside the school gate, threatened to kill one of the school faculty, got drunk in front of the school, and got arrested....as well as released on account of her stating that she would never bother the school again.

Guh, and to believe this whole time just mere minutes away from where I live...exists an insane woman...who called me a nigger....hehehe.

All in all, this was an interesting day....even though reading about Immanuel Kant is going to be a real chore.

2/2/09

The man jumps, he shouts, he sweeps!!! Everything was going smoothly for him until he started becoming self-aware of the events that were transpiring around him. Things advancing, opportunities abundant, life going into maximum overdrive.

All of a sudden, he realized that soon he himself would be stuck in a eternal quagmire filled with nothingness and a place of great moratorium. Thus, he started to at least try to change things, such as people that he once thought of as cool are now meh in his book. The Saturdays of legend are now fading into the after light for reasons that are very obvious to him and to others.

Because of the advice from a terrific friend of his, he sees the error of certain decisions and prospects. Trying to find his own way out of the messes he created, he journeys forth toward vast landscapes filled with perilous terrain and deranged psychopaths. Will he find his true purpose??? who knows!!! ONLY TIME WILL TELL!!

guh.......life is odd.

Well, what a better way to spend B-day money than to head to good old Circuit city!!

With a price slash of up to 40% off on home audio equipment, yours truly saved quite a lot on HDMI as well as surround sound stuff.

Not to mention 30% off on both games and camera accessories, can someone say, 4GB memory card ???

Oh yea, and I decided to pick up a sweet brand new lost odyssey for only 22 bucks...I'm one happy man....and I'll probably be back for more HDMI stuff due to the outrageous amount they still have.

Now....time to test out this camera.

Yeah Circuit has been dropping the prices even lower than the first week of "liquidation" began.

wow....Since I am a capcom unity member...I get the inside scoop on certain events (capcom wise) that happen around.

Well, it turns out that today, at 4:20 pm, in burbank, a special sneak peak at RE:5 was happening in which you get to play a "never before seen section" in a theater.I asked if I could go, and to my joy, capcom did!!! Since I live quite far from burbank, I was in a little bit of a panic on whether or not I could attend. but at 2:00 today I randomly called a certain friend....who to my happiness wanted to go as well....as long as I pay for gas. Either way....the event rocked!!! the level we played was of micheal bay calibur!!! with ultra quality and surround sound....things were just heavenly.
Since no cameras were allowed inside...I could only take pics of the outside, as well as the candids that people did for Electric playground (I didn't even know they still existed!)

I, being a funny guy, did my own candid where I explained my experience with the game, while looking like a complete fool....JUST LIKE I PLANNED!!!

Well, there comes a time in a gaming fan boy's life where he gets riches thrown at him for free!!! Yesterday, as a matter of fact, was one of those days, for capcom, being the awesome game producing company they are....decided to hold a free 20th anniversary/SF4 launch event. All you had to do was show up at the MOCA in downtown LA, with an ID, and you were in!!

Although, space was limited, so me and a friend got there about two hours in advance....and because of that, we were in the first group in!! The event started at about 8:00 pm, and ended at 12:00am.

and oh boy, what an event it was, featuring Ono, the knux, as well as DJ Q-bert, this event was filled with odd celebrities and whatnot. Not to mention that both ps3 and 360 console versions of SF4 were on LCD tv's EVERYWHERE!!!!

I ended taking about 73 pics of the event and even had video taken of me during the SF 4 fightclub...WHERE I RAPED WITH SAKURA!!!

But, the amount of free stuff that was obtained was terrific!!! Just getting in we got a 20th anniversary headband...a cool timeline, and other things. Since the amount of pics posted in one post is limited, I'll just post the important ones.

ME(again)with Yoshinori Ono, producer of SF 4 who signed both a kickass poster, and a game that produced, Onimusha:Dawn of dreams.
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k72/pokeman100/100_0127.jpg

Me with Reuben Langdon, AKA the motion capture artist and voice of Ken....and Dante from DMC.
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k72/pokeman100/Streetfighter4037.jpg

also...A pic I decided to take with a bunch of cool cosplayers...including a cute C.viper.
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k72/pokeman100/Streetfighter4035.jpg

Man....last night was just so unreal.....just the fact that EVERYTHING was free.....even the laser etched Dan I got on my phone!!

I even got a cool Guile sketched into my mini art book by Long Vo, also known as the man who drew the HD remix sprites!!

God...what a great time to be a capcom fan!! Just the fact that they were LITERALLY throwing free copies of Street fighter 4 at one point made the party worth it! I myself leaped into the air for one....but divine intervention had a hand in denying me my copy!!......for beer spilled all over my pants and signed poster while I was in mid-air...forcing me to hesitate...thus denying me my free SF4 copy.

Well...either way though...I got a crap load of swag.

Well, things are finally coming into fruition, for my surgery for my ear is happening on the 12th of next month.

After about two years of having this damn broken ear, IT IS FINALLY GOING TO BE FIXED....not after I go for a preop and other things of course. I talked with all my teachers sp things are going to fine with the whole schedule crisis thing.

Although the doctors said there was a really slight chance that something could go wrong with the way my ear will heal itself with the graft, I'm not worrying too much.

Anyways, After all is said and done...I'm finally going to experience having two full working ears!!! YES!!!

Yea, things have been semi-slow with the ear healing and all.....but to my surprise, a certain singer happened to be in hollywood today to promote her album. My friends and I...being the funky j-pop/kingdom hearts fans we are, raced over there to see what all the hubbub was about.

The singer's name is utada hikaru...many of you probably know her as the woman who sang "simple and clean" or "sanctuary" which both were themes of the kingdom hearts series of games. Well, in the beginning...it turns out that we arrived too late and nobody was being let in anymore....but me being the optimist, decided to stay around the area. After eating some bugles and chilling, the doors were opened to anyone that wanted to...hehe...CATCH A GLIMPSE OF HER.

The event just ended being a total mess in my opinion....due to the location of the singer was placed. Of all the stores...a tiny ass sephora beauty store was the stage. I mean...wouldn't it have been a better idea to have it outside...than in such a cramped up space? the capacity was so filled...that when I took a photo from the outside...I did not notice that I got a pantie shot.

Well, the baber's edge 2:*insert cliche subtitle* is in the works....before I have even arrived in san fran.....and the ear seems to be fine....SO ALL IS RIGHT IN THE WORLD.

Yesterday night I went to a free SF4 art exhibit courtesy of Capcom themselves. The exhibit was called JAB!STRONG!FIERCE!, And any street fighter fan would know that those are the inputs for the each of the punch and kick buttons. So me and a couple SF fans decided to drive about 15 minutes outside of downtown LA to see what all the hubbub was about.

When we arrived there though, we were sort of surprised to find such a small place for such a major exhibit. But either way, TONS AND TONS of terrific art at *cough bullshit cough* awesome prices were there.

Such as this epic m.bison/sagat showdown.

There was also a pretty cool cosplay contest where people who dressed up as their favorite characters did skits for judges.
http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/baberific/capcom_events/large/736e00225617d697de60c54f6fe053d8.jpg?v=269400

But of course, it was my friend's friends who won the competition with their destructive Cammy vs. ryu skit...let's just say that "grab into Frankensteiner" was involved.

But I myself got the joy of watching some THE best players in the US fight for 500 in a tournament sponsored by EVO....I'll say that those were some of the most extraordinary matchups I was ever there in the flesh to lay eyes on. I'll also go to say that the person who won the tourney.....USED EL FUERTE!!! I could've entered the tourney...but that's 35 bucks to try to win $500.

Not only did I see crazy players...but I also got to meet some capcom unity members and the legendary SETH killian himself!!!
But what really made my night...was winning a birdie action figure in a raffle!! Got the damn thing signed by seth, and had the satisfaction of knowing that those tickets were given to me by my friends who though they had no chance at winning.

All in all you could say it was a baberific time!
AND..... ABEL FTW!!!

Well, it seems as though foxkei has gotten some new/awesome members added to the site....too bad I wasn't there to greet them, but anyways, HERE'S SOME NEWS!!

You guys remember that whole "ear" problem right??? Well, guess what???
According to ms. Wang (my ear doctor), my eardrum has bean fully healed over...so now that means I can go into the shower without cotton, as well as swim!! Which is exactly what I did on Saturday at a beach party. Even though I am horribly sore from skim boarding....I feel fulfilled. So now, all I have to do is be bit cautious around loud places and wait for my ear to complete heal internally.

Oh, and another piece of random news....you all know what E3 is right?? wait...OF COURSE YOU DO!!! well the baber has been invited by none other than capcom, to go to E3 for FREE. Yes, FOR FREE. The second I got the message I almost pissed my pants, it seems that being an active capcom lover on the unity site has given me great rewards.

I played many titles, including Batman: Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2:honor among thieves, Afrika, Sin and punishment 2, Wet, Lost planet 2, TVC eng, Forza motorsport 3, and Brutal Legend.

http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/baberific/large/209e6a3c947900255df2f3858feb58cf.jpg?v=269400

Since Glass was the first to truly ask for a specific title, I shall tell him info on it!!!

Afrika, Published by Natsume: First I'm going to say that this game has the mist detailed camera system I have ever seen. Every type of lens you can possibly think of is in there....as well as a couple of very high quality cameras.
http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/baberific/large/15ec49a0bd777a62b650f3f9c2b54d88.jpg?v=269400

From what I played, the game involves going on safari's and taking photos of the various wildlife that surround you. Even though this game might not win the award for "EXTREMELY GORGEOUS GRAPHICS", it gave this calm serene feeling that all the gore infested games these days dismiss. The more I played it...the more I realized that it was a "chill, relax, and calm your mind" type game, almost like the PSN game flower. Cause going on that night safari was actually very cool.

Robobivious wanted me to try out specific titles, so I shall give the lowdown on them in a couple sentences. But since I could only get my hands on one of them due to all this newfound SECURITY, I'll take about a certain one he mentioned.
http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/baberific/large/11a3ad03bede9d25b299a22234188f61.jpg?v=269400
Batman, Arkham asylum: Well, here it is!!! A batman game that nails the series's dark tone very well!!! The demo I played involved batman tracking down the joker in the hell known as arkham asylum. The gameplay was the standard semi-beat'm up mixed in with some stealth elements. You were able to locate objects of interest as well as enemies by activating the "detective view". Batman's combos were pretty brutal with gut punches and hooks galore. What really made me happy though, is that the hookshot could be used in MANY places. I came away from the game feeling great....also...the game looks terrific graphically.

God war III is for tomorrow...for that game had a horrendous line. Rabbids go home is tomorrow as well.

Guh, besides all that, Brutal Legend was such a Kickass title......cause the prince of darkness, Ozzy, Is you shopkeeper!! Also, the comedic elements of the story were terrific and very fresh.

I would try and talk about everything else I saw...but that would just require way too much typing.....So I'll end with this.

The baber has done what he thought was impossible......crapped his pants two times in a row!!!
And what is the cause of this crappage you ask??? Well, many things.....including boobies.
Anyways, the titles that I played today are numerous, but to name a few, I played, Bayonetta, GOW III, Rabbids go home, section 8, spyborgs, Lost planet 2(again), Batman: arkham asylum challenge modes, uncharted 2 co-op, silent hill:shattered dreams, kingdom hearts 358/2 days, and FF crystal chronicles: the crystal bearers.

First off, let's start with Rabbids go home, since Rob asked me to test it out.
http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/baberific/large/2ea1fbf37754ba4b4e9a35baa5af96b6.jpg?v=269400
Since I have experienced previous rabbid titles, I was expecting nothing less than awesome comedic/adorable fun. And that is exactly what I got, since this game involves the rabbids trying to get back home by stacking any piece of junk they find. For some odd reason they think that their home is the moon, so it's up to you to help them make it there. The game was terrific on all levels, whether it be controls or graphical style. Although it seemed a bit like katamari damacy (due to the fact that you collect stuff in a shopping cart just by ramming/touching it) , the game itself was just plain fun and accessible. I could actually see myself purchasing this in the future.

Other than that title, another major game I played was GOW III, which, as I expected, was a beautiful looking/gore infested hack n' slash game.
http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/baberific/large/d232bc6c6460d5cbfec5a547a4d17e06.jpg?v=269400
Even though I had to wait for at least an hour in line, it was worth it....somewhat. The game continues where the second left off, Kratos, along with the titans, climbing up Mt. Olympus in search of the gods. The game played just like the previous titles....except with a little bit more variety in the combos. But of course, it IS the visuals that sets this game apart from the rest.....for it was drop dead gorgeous in motion. Even the gore itself was horrendously detailed, for when you killed a centaur, you literally ripped open it's abdomen...and watched it's intestines roll out. All I can say is, if you loved the previous titles....YOU WILL WORSHIP THIS ONE!

That's it for all the small fries......I'm now on the main event, well, in my eyes at least.

BAYONNETTA

This game.....blew my mind.....and I only had to wait 2 minutes to play it. I mean...god, it looked beautiful, it played beautifully, and gosh, Bayonnetta herself is just too much for my unmasculined body to handle!!! Well, since this game is being directed by Hideki kamiya (Viewtiful joe, RE2, Devil may cry, Okami), you know that a fresh visual style, along with a badass/sexy main character is a given......and boy.....DID HE GIVE!!!
http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/baberific/large/13151a2acc3071a5f256e48d31f0f008.jpg?v=269400
The game features three different attack buttons with various Awesome looking combos. One was for your ranged weapons, another was for punches(main weapon), and the last one war for kicks.......mighty, sexy kicks. The amount of crazy combinations I was able to pull off not only looked beautiful....but were deadly AS HELL!!! Also, they weren't that hard to pull off.....it was also nice to see bayonetta show of some skin with every move involving hair...HEHE. But you know what's really awesome??? The fact that Hideki Kamiya himself was there!!! I recognized him from the crowd due to his distinctive bald head!!
http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/baberific/large/690c6a34096f0e6dd6ecc4113732c176.jpg?v=269400
I got him to sign my friend's DMC 1 and got on the Platinum games podcast!!! So in alittle bit, a link to such video will be posted!! Oh....but what was also pretty rad.....was the sexy, slick, and downright bootylicious bayonetta that was at the Sega booth.

What I loved even more...was the fact that she was british!!!! And just when I thought things couldn't anymore rad, it turns out the main team behind the game was there!!!

June 4th, 2009

My final day of E3 madness was a great one, for it was Capcom that let me and other C-Unity members into their private E3 booth for some food, drinks, and all around gaming fun.
http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/baberific/large/172e26941921bb287648f149d521fc1b.jpg?v=269400

But that does not mean that I did not try to play a few titles that were beyond my vision the first time. Games such as Legend of zelda:spirit tracks, Dark void, TvC all stars(yet again),Left 4 dead 2, Spyborgs(also yet again), Dead to rights, Dragon ball raging blast, Rock band Beatles, and saw (cause they were not playable) both dante's inferno and Army of two:the 40th day in a special/private booth.

Anyways, the only game I truly feel like talking about is Rock band Beatles.....for this titles was a LOT more fun then what I expected it to be. Who knew a simple addition such as harmonizing could give you such a wonderful feeling while playing. Now when you play lead guitar and bass, you can sing along with the tune....just like the beatles did. I myself....being one who sang a crap load of Beatles songs as a kid, found this game both nostalgic and awe inspiring.

http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/baberific/large/17533e80deeb265c5d8e3f35def1c7fd.jpg?v=269400

And by suck, I mean rock so hard that I envy you.

I couldn't have said it any better myself.

Thanks for all the inside info, Baberdude. Very enlightening.

I wasn't around to hear about E3 while it happened this year, so I just read whatever you put up.

well, it seems that the baber is going to good old San Fran to visit his cousins yet again!! And this time.....the completion of the baber's edge 2 will be a reality! Also, this time....I can walk around without the fear of fox ripping my throat!!!

Besides that though, today I went on a 5 mile hike to a wondrous place called eagle rock, and boy.....did I end up getting exhausted. I guess only getting about 6 hours of sleep really comes back to ram you in the face. I even decided to take some idiotic photos of me on the peak!!

Oh, and for any of wondering when I was gonna put up my video of E3......here it is, for the extremely awesome heiae uploaded them for me!!! For my computer is a piece of crap.

Well, I'm guessing that some of you maybe want to know where the baber has been. Was he lost in some sort of atomic collider? Did father time deny him the chance to flip over his hourglass? Or did love distract him from his ultimate destiny?

But no, it's nothing special....for I was just going through life, its trials, its tribulations, and a lot of realizations.

But that doesn't matter...for he has been tasked with the responsibility, of E3 yet again. Capcom gave me another go...so I'm going for it.

Astounding? isn't it? You would think that after 6 different wars in 4 different quadrants, that I would have died eons ago....BUT THAT IS NOT SO!!

And I will try to make the E3 video possible.
