The new Tenchu title, being made by the original creators of the series, is looking pretty rad. Especially in this latest trailer, which has Rikimaru showing some serious badassery.

I don't expect the game to be stunning, but I think it'll at least be pretty good. And it's great to see a non-casual title on the Wii, because there hasn't been a title worth a look in over half a year that I can remember.

Looks decent enough. I loved the first Tenchu as a kid. The music was unbelievable as well.
Wrath from Heaven wasn't too bad either, but the PSP version was horrible. Here's hoping they spruced up the AI and made the level designs more inspired.

Wrath of Heaven was awesome, but Fatal Shadows was blaaah. Tenchu Z was fun for the multiplayer, but the entrance fee of $60 was asking too much for a title that was so rough around the edges.
This title has a new control scheme, and you now control your character from a more behind-the-shoulder/back position. It might work well, it might not. We'll see.

For the Wii only.... :( I am saddened. Looks good though.

Shadow Assassins? Why would they assassinate shadows? That seems like kind of a stupid idea for a video game.
...
Sorry, couldn't resist. Anyway, I loved the first Tenchu, and I enjoyed the demo of the first one that showed up on the PS2 (don't laugh, I played it a couple dozen times). Here's hoping this one is good, but campus internet isn't letting videos load for some reason, so I can't watch the trailer...

Well, the original was called "Stealth Assassins."

The only things I remember about the first game are that: (a) it was harder than hell and (b) it was awesome.
Which is all I guess really matters.

Alucards is the Tenchu fan from way back...
Alucards has been awaiting this game since it was announced...
Alucards liked Rin's story in Fatal Shadows. (But recognizes that Fatal Shadows was loaded with some not so lovely technical flaws)

Guh, never owned a single tenchu title....yet played and was able to borrow many.
Still to this day though, wratch of heaven to me was probably the most polished out of all of them....with the coop missions and all.
I also have to mention that the music rocked...due to having the same composer as the rurouni kenshin anime.
As for the wii game....guh...I'll wait for no more heroes 2 or madworld....for I don't know if I want to purchase a ninja game the day after my birthday.

THe debug mode in the first Tenchu made the game a LOT funner than it is on your first playthrough.
Shooting arrows/bullets out of my chest? Classic.

I've played a few of the tenchu games myself. I remember me and my childhood best friend used to make our own levels in Tenchu 2 and challenge each other to beat them... Some of our stuff got pretty devious.
It's definately not the prettiest (Being on the Wii and all) but it does look pretty hardcore... I hope this game is better than the later ones.

I am so sick of hearing things like that....like the Wii is some kind of handicap...so it isn't as powerful as the other 2...Wii games can still look bloody great! (That Tenchu game is yet another example...)

The Wii does have a handicap. It can't push the visuals the original Xbox could. Hahaha!
But let's not turn this thread into that thread.

I don't mind the Wii because of the limited graphics, but I do mind that I have one that just sits there and collects dust. That's the argument you should be tired of. XD

Man, I haven't even plugged mine up in months. Don't get me started on how long it's been since I've played it.
Again, though.. Oh man.. I'm helping this thread become THAT THREAD.

I'm still waiting on my roommate to return the power cord and component cables to my Wii when he took them home during Thanksgiving break.

That's because...
I can't believe that I of all people am saying this...(Cause I'm the most stubborn narrow-minded f***er around...)
Those people stateside all refuse to play anything that doesn't put a gun in their hand...they need to open their minds up a bit...
That's not directed at anyone here...but more at the western gaming audience as a whole...

Which is exactly why games such as super mario galaxy should be more abundant, THAT GAME WAS AMAZING!!!

Try to finish that before anything else...for it is the easiest metroid of all.

I had heard that Metriod Prime 2 was really hard...
I still gotta get that game...

You can't say that, yes Western gamers prefer FPS' over other genres, but the wii's Gimmick status can't all be blamed on them. For Example, Look at Red Steel, that game literally put a gun and a sword in your hand, but it still sucked.
Quite frankly, it's the fact that the Wii has become the resident whore, so to speak. Everyone figures that the Wii is the everyman's console, played by old people and childen, so they shovel out crap minigame collections and "Oh look a horsy! Let's pretend to pet it" games until the console it's on is reduced to such low standards...
That's not to say that it can't have good games, look at Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, SSBB, and... um...
Well, the point is, it can have good games, but most of the developers for it are just out for a quick buck.
So don't be so quick to blame one group of consumers for the console's problems... If anything blame the corner-cutting buck hounds.
(I'm real sorry Heiae...)
So yeah, Tenchu... It was fun back in the day.

Yeah, Tenchu rocks. You stab people and crap. Sweet.

I just started playing Tenchu:Stealth Assassins again on my PS3. I love the music, gets you into the "I'm gonna kill all these bad guys" or "I'm gonna save the princess" type of mood.
The dialogue is just so memorable....
