December 30th:
Foxkei is back up and running, I actually beat the first episode of Duke Nukem 3D, and I'm re-hooking up my PS2 for some Final Fantasy XI fun. Life is good. Mostly.

I almost bought Final Fantasy XI for the PS2 back when it came out, but my mom wouldn't pay the steep price along with the monthly fees.

I gave up FFXI because I was bored with it and because my mother said we could get broadband if I stopped playing it!
I had dial-up until like late 2004..

I used AOL for my internet browsing until 2004. I don't know if it's just as bad as dial-up or worse.

December 31st:
I had some drinks last night. Yum.
Anyways, today is new year's eve. Makes me think of Parasite Eve, of course, as I originally started reading it on new year's eve. Tonight I'm going up to the cabin for the new year's celebration. Not sure how many peeps will be there. Either way, I'm bringin my Captain Morgan and Pepsi.
EDIT: A close friend of mine was in a car accident. She says she's OK, but I'm still worried.
EDIT2: In association with Komodo's oily suggestion, and a bit of rogain, I have also got a haircut, and my thinning hair is no longer noticable.

January 2nd: I was going to go to my mom's house and I slepped in the ice next to my car. I fell flat on my ass. [Un]luckily my DS absorbed part of the blow (it was in my back pocket)... Consequently, the top screen has taken damage and there are many, many dead pixels on it. About a fifth of the top screen, mostly on the far right side, is completely dead. I am at a loss of words. I'm not sure what to do...

Do you still have warranty on your DS? Do you feel like sending it to Nintendo for repairs? If not, you should get a new one.

That sucks to the max. The only thing I know you can do is buy a new one.

You should definitely buy a new one if you ever have the extra cash. The Lites are snazzy in my opinion. And maybe even wait for the new Nintendo DSi (that's what it's called, right?)

oh man, I feel for ya red... for my old DS (got it right when it originally came out) is still working fine, even if I threw it against a brick wall in frustration, had it's barcode ripped off, scarred everything around it, and almost dropped into boiling hot water.
Either way, something good is bound to happen, for anyone who decides to keep using the "brick" as I call it, is destined to receive compensation.
WanderingMind
01-08-2009, 03:40 AM
Other than the improved backlight, the one big improvement of the DS Lite over the old DS is a bigger stylus. I never want to go back to the tiny styli for the original DS. I hope my grammar was right.
AmuroRay
01-08-2009, 03:05 PM
Let see you spelled Stylus wrong the second time and instead of "for the Original DS" you should have used "from the original DS", other than those your grammar is correct WM.
So Red, are you gonna buy a new DS? Wait for the DSi? The thing about the DSi is that you can't play your GBA games on there anymore.

Well, I took a couple pictures, but I don't know how to get them from PoL to my compy. They don't show up in my list of pictures for sending. Its odd. Anyways, it hasn't happened yet, we both still need to hit Lv 20 first, but that won't be a problem. After all, a man in love has the strength of thousands. Also, I'm a Red, so I can do anything. Except enhance my allies, apparently. All my enhancements only affect myself, except Protect. Am I rambling? Anyways, we need a trusted friend to take care of the services for us too, otherwise our application for marriage will hang in limbo. And that's one thing I don't want to happen. Attention!
Anyone who wants to join myself and Marioarm2 in our FF11 wedding, I have good news!
You can download a free trial version of Final Fantasy XI for your Windows PC! The free trial lasts two weeks, so you can also have plenty of fun outside of the wedding too. The only catch? There is no catch! Bwah ha ha ha ha ha! Seriously though, the full version is pretty cheap too. Marioarm2 got the full game plus three expansion sets on the 360 for just $13 plus tax. That is a deal, considering I spent $70 plus tax on my PS2 version. Granted, this was years ago, and it came with the mandatory PS2 HDD. Still, my PS2 HDD is awesome. So yeah. Everybody download your free FF11 trial today! Or tomorrow. Or a week from now. But that's the latest I'd wait. Cheers!

I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaating for my Knothole Island download for Fable II on LIVE to finish downloading. Ugh. Its taking forever. In the time since I started (almost 2 hours ago) I actually started, and then completely finished Mega Man X. I even used the Ha-Do-Ken weapon to defeat every boss except Wall Face and the Evil Car Boss. Sigma's Dog, Sigma Form I, and Sigma Form II all fell to the might of Mega Man X's Ha-Do-Ken. Fun times.
Anyways, I hope some of you are considering trying the free FF11 trial game, if for nothing else, than to see Voloh (my character) and Aristra (Marioarm2's character) tie the knot. You're all buddies, so you should be there. Plus we need Reverend Hobo to do the services, since he's the only Reverend around here.

Good to hear. I won't have to worry about leveling up, right? All that's left for me is to get my 360 registered for the school's network. You see, I have to register my 360 with Information Technology Services (ITS) so I can get a special password to log onto the wireless network on campus. I may have to wait until the end of the month before I can do it.

Alrighty. No, you needn't worry about leveling unless you want to do anything. It seems a bit silly to buy the game just to attend our wedding, so I encourage you to at least try the game out. You know, I'm gettin really tired of videogames lately. Sound like anyone else you know? Heh. No, but seriously, I'm bored of most of these games. I derive little to no joy out many games these days. I used to be able to play nearly any type of game. Nowadays I only have fun with RPGs, and even then its meh sometimes. Why is it I seem to enjoy the older RPGs more than anything else? I was playing FF9 earlier and having a blast. I'm really pining for Final Fantasy VI right now. And hell, Final Fantasy IV, which I just finished, I want to play again. Even the original Final Fantasy, which I've finished more times than I can count, I can easily pick up and start playing again and enjoying. What's my deal?

Oh, they told me ahead of time... YESTERDAY ahead of time. Ugh. Sure, we'd all heard about the work problem. I figured we'd all just have our hours cut. Oh, we did. Very much so. The company is down to working 4 days a week and all the temps, as well as 5 full-time employees, were laid off. They said it would be like this for 4 - 6 weeks. So perhaps if I can hang in there on unemployment and aluminum (and don't think I'm not above using food stamps) for that long, there's a decent chance I can be brought back. Plus I'm with the temp agency still, so they're looking for more work for me as we speak. Well, maybe not, since its after hours. But yeah.

January 24th:
I finally got both my W2 forms in the mail, so I can get crackin on my tax return info once my filing information arrives. The timing is pretty handy since I just got laid off.
My sister returned to her college a couple weeks ago. I sent her off with Metal Gear Solid Tactical Espionage Action and told her not to let her friends ruin the experience for her. I tell ya, I probably would have been more impressed with the game if I hadn't seen every mockery of it on the internet before playing it (I'm glaring at you especially, Metal Gear Awesome). Still, I enjoyed it for the most part (as I'm sure you all remember), and I guess that's what counts. Just think, if some type of Metal Gear game made it to the 360, you could all enjoy yet another Metal Gear Journal from me!
I've been in something of a funk this week. I'm guessing because of my lay-off. My cats are pretty happy about it though, as they're gettin lots more attention from me. Just the other day I was laying on the couch with Mr. Wesson, giving him a massage. I was also going to take Mr. Smith outside so he could get some fresh air and look around and really stretch out. Sadly, the harness I bought is way too small for him. And he is not going outside unless I am with him. Unfortunately Williamsport isn't the kind of place you'd allow your pet to randomly run around in. I'm still haunted by the image of a dead cat I saw lying in a snow bank over the holiday break. It chilled me to the bone, and reminded me how utterly brutal, savage, and animal-like humans can be. The poor thing was domesticated. For all our kind-hearted and civilized ways, we still stoop as low as hurting those weaker than us.

Yeah, we all agreed that their names had to relate somehow once we got them. I suggested Rumble and Frenzy, naturally, but Smith & Wesson was the first thing we all liked, so it stuck.
Also, for no reason, I've included some pictures from my younger days. The aptly-named Wire Hell is what it looked like behind my TV about five years ago.

Feb 11th:
I came to the realization that almost every piece of furnature I own is black. Or very dark grey. Cases in point: My computer desk. Black. My computer? Black. My computer chair? Black. My couch? Black. My dragon fountain? Black. My mister? Black. My TV stand? Black. My book case? Black. Game shelves? Black. My TV? Grey. Dark grey. Seems all my consoles are pretty dark too. NES, SNES, both grey. Genesis, PS2, XBOX, all black. N64 is dark grey. Oh, wait... my Gamecube (seriously, what's a GCN? A Gamecube Nintendo?) is purple. My 360 is white... the two most colorful things I own. Ha ha ha!
So anyway, with all this black in my life, I decided to spice things up. So I draped three blankets over my couch, and I must admit, they have given the room some color.
Recently I've tried to totally clear out my computer's HDD to make room for the meh of a game, World of Warcraft. And by clear out, I mean clear out. I've deleted, moved, and/or uninstalled everything I could possibly think of in order to get the space required the... nightmare known as WoW. I've even compressed the entire drive in order to do so. But, my valiant efforts are in vain, as Blizzard simply is not satisfied with the sapce I've cleared. I even removed Magic Online from my system... something that's been there almost since the day I got it. Sad times. So now my mission is to purchase a new external hard disk drive on which I will install and run World of Asscraft. I mean Warcraft.
In the Age of Chaos, two factions battled for dominance. The Kingdom of Azeroth was a prosperous one. The Humans who dwelled there turned the land into a paradise. The Knights of Stormwind, and the Clerics of Northshire Abbey, roamed far and wide serving the king's people with honor and justice. The well-trained armies of the King maintained a lasting peace for many generations. Then came the Orcish Hordes.
No one knew where these creatures came from, and none were prepared for the terror that they spawned. Their warriors wielded axe and spear with deadly proficiency, while others rode Darkwolves as black as the moonless night. Unimagined were the destructive powers of their evil magiks, derived from the fires of the underworld. With an ingenious arsenal of weaponry and powerful magic, these two forces collide in a contest of cunning, intellect, and brute strength, with the victor claiming dominance over the whole of Azeroth. Welcome to the World of Warcraft.

Also, have I ever told you guys abuot Reverend Jim? If not, its a story I should definitely relate to you all...

Tuesday, March 24th:
Great scot! I'm returned to the internet!
Yes folks, after taking an extended internet sabbatical (for reasons both my own and out of my hands), I am returned to you, that I may shower you with my golden aura of incredibly awesome win. So, I guess I'll answer the one question that I'm sure some of you will ask... "Where have you been?"
Well, Its like this...
First and foremost, I needed a break from the internet in general. I was spending way too much time on the net, and needed to get out for awhile.
Secondly, I needed a break from Foxkei. Yes, I know, foxkei is win. However, some of the happenings here just got to be too much for me, so I had to distance myself from it.
One major reason is that my computer recently crapped out. It was utterly dead in almost every sense of the word. Its back now, although I had to have the hard drive reformatted. So now I have exactly nothing that I did before. I have zilch. Everything that was on my computer before is gone now. Every game, emulator, ROM, picture, and music file was banished forever. Including the one thing I asked the computer guys to save, if possible: my Fallout 2 game data and patch. So, you know what that means? I have to start it over... yet again. I don't think I will ever be able to finish that game... sad face.
Another big reason is that I've been needed alot more around my mom's house. Yesterday morning she went to the hospital for a vital operation on her neck/back area. I'm happy to report that when the doctors got in there, it wasn't as bad as they originally thought. What was the problem? I'm not particularly sure. It had something to do with a ruptured disc or some such stuff. Anyways, I've been staying at my mom's house at night to take care of my brother, and get him to school. And during the day I go back to my house to take care of my cat, to make sure he knows I still love him. All the running is wreaking havoc on my gas tank. Ugh.
I recently beat Halo Wars. I really like that game. And I'm making some progress in Phantasy Star II (finally).

Mr Wesson moved in with my mom. Originally, he was supposed to stay with her, but with the divorce and move and all that stuff, well, it just wasn't the kind of place a young cat should be growing up at. So only recently has he moved back in with my mom.

Hey guys. I'm at the computer shop right now. Yippee. They're messing with my computer right now, as we speak. I brought it in today, after I just got it back yesterday. So yeah. At the very least, I've been able to demo Windows Vista. Fun stuff. In other news, I recently unlocked the Lee R. Wilson Memorial and Triple Kill achievements in Halo 3, which together unlocked my Elite's Commando body armor. Nothing really special, but it does match my colors pretty well. Rather, it did before I changed them. I don't really care about the achievements or my gamer score. I just really want to get all the armor pieces for my Elite so he can look cool. I'm missing 2 head pieces and 1 shoulder piece. Ugh. BTW, does anybody know if the Mythic Maps are out yet? I already have them, of course, but I'm just wondering when all the rest of the peons are able to get it. Also, I recently found all the skulls in Halo Wars. Oh yeah. I love the Wuv Woo skull, which makes Scarab Tanks shoot rainbow-colored beams of pure love.

Where to start? I've been sick all week. I picked up the bug on sunday from my brother who got it from one of his friends. Monday I started feeling a little bogged down, but it wasn't too bad. I just figured I was tired. Tuesday I felt under the weather but went to work anyway. I felt worse as the day went on. Wednesday I woke up feeling like total crap, so I called off work. I was fully and truly sick. Ugh. Thursday, I felt slightly better. But not much, so I called off work again. I get a call from the temp agency later and find out that the place I was working at just canned me. As in, I don't work there anymore. As in, I JUST GOT FIRED FOR BEING SICK? WTF!?!? Yesterday I was feeling a notch higher than before. I ended up having to drive my mom home from the club last night. She let me borrow her vaporizer for the night, so before I hit the hay I plugged it in and took some nyquil, and this morning I'm feeling much better. Of course, I couldn't get through a single day without something happening, and so both my legs cramped up. Great thing to wake up to. Oh, and my gramma called me at like 6 in the morning asking if I had any burnables. Ugh.
Anyways, have any of you heard of the Spoony One, Noah Antwiler, or the Spoony Experiment? No? Yeah, I didn't think so. Not too many people know of him. But its OK, cuz I'm about to introduce you. Not that I don't enjoy that sorta review which has become quite the rage on the internet. I just like that there's still people out there who don't go berzoink all the time.

Friday, July 17th.
This morning I attended the funeral of a dear friend to our family. Ray Swanson has been a friend to us for all the years I've been around, and many more years before that. He has been a friend in the truest, purest sense of the word. He would do anything to help those that he cared about, and he cared for a great many people. He was a war veteran, and he served his country with honor and distinction. To say that he was a friend, doesn't seem quite enough. He was as good as a brother, this man. I will miss him more than I can properly express. He was the type of guy that every man should strive to emulate.
His son, John, prepared a wonderful speech. He said that somehow, God locked himself out of the pearly gates, and Ray approached him, wearing his trademark outfit of jeans and a blue oxford shirt, and unlocked the gate, as only he could. He also said that his father has been known by many names, Ray, Rayzor, the Lockman... but only one name truly does him credit: Awesome.
One of Ray's grandchildren also delivered a small poem. She spoke extremely quietly, so I didn't hear everything. But, what I did hear, was absolutely beautiful... One of my younger cousins asked if a story about Ray's death would be on the news on TV, to which one of my aunts responded, "No, that only happens for famous people." I thought to myself how great a man Rayzor was, and came to the conclusion that if anyone's death deserved national attention, it was Ray Swanson's.

Sunday, July 26th:
In an attempt to break the trend I somehow started of only sharing bad news here, I will now inform you of my day's activities. Today was the family reunion I go to once a year. There was food (average at best), dessert (some good stuff), and lots and lots of tedium. Seriously, this is probably one of the most boring things I do every year. I'm just glad I don't have to drive up and waste my own gas. I just hitch a ride with my mom or sister. So the highlight this year was twofold: A stray cat that usually prowls around the church across the street came and visited the family, whereupon it was greeted with mixed reactions, and Uncle Vaughn stepped down from the positions of Secretary and Treasurer.
The poor cat was probably looking for food, and unfortunately, THE FAMILY REUNION IS SERIOUS BUSINESS. So naturally nobody would dare give the thing some table scraps. Nobody except me. Heh. In yo face old people (I can say this because they're my family). And of course all the little kids thought they should come over and try to touch the damn cat. And what they were really doing was bothering it, and scaring it. And most are lucky they didn't get sliced open. Of course, if they had, it would've been the cat's fault (obviously), since half the parents in my family aren't qualified to raise kids, and don't know how to educate them about stray, possibly feral animals. He looked to be about 1 or 2 in human years, which means even though he was still relatively young, he'd nearly hit maturity and no longer accepted everyone as his equal. In other words, one has to earn the cat's trust before handling it. Most of these kids did not understand.
Vaughn stepped down after taking care of the family's finances for over 30 years. He's gettin too old to have to deal with the idiots of our family tree, and so today he passed on his responsibilities. And coming back to the damned kids, you wouldn't believe how many times this one kid busted out bawling for no reason. At least three times while Vaughn was going over the financial details for this year's reunion. Hell. Seems like most of the kids were out make as much noise and disruptions as possible. Oi. I asked my mom if I was ever that bad. She said "No, and if you were, I'd have beaten you," in a somewhat loud voice, just enough to carry over to the parents who weren't controlling their damned kids. I swear. I may hop onto the same boat as my sister and not even consider having children. Problem is, all the idiots out in the world are still breeding, and well, the world has enough idiots as it is.
Anyways, I'm going to play with Smithy and then get some sleepy time.

Well...at a function like that...kids get bored. You need to occupy them. (My mum used to bring toys and things for us to other peoples houses to keep us quiet. It's what they call "Parenting") And...well my Mom wasn't afraid of giving us a few smacks if we misbehaved. Also called..."Parenting." Parents don't do that anymore.
But that sounds pretty one sided Ed. He handles everyone's finances? What do they do for him? I mean...my Dad or my brother does my taxes sure...but I fix their computer for free when it breaks...EVEN TRADE.

Well, that's the problem with this place. There are absolutely zero diversionary things for children to do there. The entire property consists of an old pavilion (with kitchen), a pothole-ridden pint-sized basketball court with one [broke] hoop, and a porta-potty. Frankly, the place sucks.
Well, I didn't really mean he does the taxes or anything, he handles the finances associated with the Beaver Family Reunion. Or handled, rather. He took payments for the catering and donations for the pavilion and made sure it was distributed properly. Like I said, FAMILY REUNION IS SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Monday, July 27th:
Today I drove 2.5 hours to Millersville to help my sister move. Hell. Add another 2.5 hours back to home... I've done more driving in one day than I normally do in a week. I'm beat, and my left leg hurts like a mother. Work called and they want me to come in tomorrow at 6:20 AM. Thinking more of my reputation of being a dependable employee than my own personal health, I said hey, why not? A decision I know I will regret tomorrow. Plus the pay is damn near asstastic. I think I'd rather work at a Dunkin' Donuts. I wish they'd give me a heads up next time. Springing this shit on me while I'm 150 miles away from home and my comfy bed is just not cool. I hope to hell I wake up with my alarm tomorrow...

Friday, July 31st
Well, let it be known that I like putting pepper on my food. I'll put pepper on just about anything. Tonight I put pepper on my TV dinner (mac & cheese with a salisbury steak). I may have put a bit too much on, as my mouth was on fire. Figuratively speaking. Still, I enjoyed it. Pepper makes everything better.
So my mom texted me at 5:30 this morning informing me that my sister, whom I helped move earlier this week, wants to come home. This of course, comes after she told my mom that she didn't have plans to come back for another few weeks. My mom and I both suspect that something must be up if she suddenly wants to come home at 5:30 in the morning (this is made apparent because my sister is never up that early... or that late).
As for work, I got up with my alarm OK, but ended up being 15 minutes later for work because I couldn't find a place to park, and I couldn't find the right building entrance (I hate buildings that have like 20 doors on each level). I also had no clue who the hell I was supposed to report to. Thanks alot temp agency. Dunkin' Donuts is lookin really appealing right now. Hells, even SONIC burger looks good compared to these idiots... Problem is, I doubt I'd be using fork trucks very much at either location, and after all the crap I went through obtaining my fork truck license, I want to be able to use the damn thing.

Friday, August 14th.
I went and got my sister on tuesday. Got stuck in traffic on the way back. Lame ass construction. It turned what should have been a 2 hour drive into a 3 hour ass-numbing coma-inducing borefest. Still, sister's back from college, so the Smash Bros good times abound!
Today is turning hectic. It started out at 8 this morning when my sister woke me to get my GPS. Now I'm about to go get my mom for lunch, after which I have to go get some keys for my grandmother, and lastly I have to fill out an application and turn it in. May not seem like much, but when it all has to be done within a timespan of two hours, things get tough.

My friends and I are in the midst of prepping for a movie we plan to film next saturday. Its projected to only turn out as a 26 minute movie, qualifying it as a "short." We're having casting problems out the wazoo. Two of the main characters no longer have actors, so we spent almost the whole day trying to find replacements. We've found none.
I've also decided to start going to ACOA meetings every monday. An hour a week is a small price to pay to learn valuable truths about yourself and others.

OK. Today was a great day for filming. We got so many shots done today. We're actually ahead of schedule. We're going to be doing bits and pieces of the movie during the week, and hopefully finish up with all the action scenes this saturday and/or sunday. I was very surprised, pleasantly so, with how well we did today. And I apparently did great camera work. I also may have accidentally pushed the film to an R rating. Ha ha!

November 9th:
Been awhile, yes? Well, not much has changed... Well, I'm healthy now, but other than that, not much.
A few weeks ago my sister bought a used 2000 Jeep Cherokee. About a week later it died. I had to laugh. Here I am with my car, three years older, and its never given me any trouble, aside from normal wear & tear / maintenance. My car is a Chevrolet, by the way. Yes, Chevy will always be better than Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep. My mom's Jeep is falling apart too. Ah, to be the only smart one in my family...
I got a new phone tonight. I've been using my Motorola RAZR for more than two years, and I'm finally due for an upgrade. Well, I was due for an upgrade months ago. But I finally got the upgrade tonight. I wanted a newer version of the RAZR, but for some strange reason, they don't make the RAZR anymore. I don't know what idiot decided it would be a good idea to stop manufacturing one of the most popular phones ever made, but bones to him, he sucks. My new phone is a Pantech Matrix. I have yet to figure out what all it is capable of. It doesn't seem capable of the most basic functions such as sending and receiving pictures and music files, which pisses me off, since all my ringtones are on my old phone (which my mom is now using).
That's all for now.

Hey now, been almost a month yes? Well, that's how long it takes for something interesting to happen in my life. I had an eye exam today. My eyes have actually gotten better! The problem, however, is that the astigmatism in my left eye has gotten worse. But, what it boils down to is that I need new lenses. This is a problem for me, because I absolutely LOVE my current lenses/frames. For those who don't know, my glasses are blue-tinted with transition. That means they automatically get dark when exposed to sunlight, which is awesome. The problem is, they don't make my style of lenses or frames anymore, so I have to get new ones (have you heard this from me before?). I settled on a new set of frames, but I can't get the blue-tint and transitions lenses. So, I got a magnetic sunglasses clip for the lenses and am having the clear lenses tinted blue, so I get to keep that (thankfully). I'm so used to seeing everything with a blue tint to it, I dunno what I'd do if I saw everything normally. My brain would probably explode.

Earlier today my mom spilled soda all over the coffee table. My DSi was on the coffee table when it happened. After I dried it, it seemed OK. But then the touch screen ceased to work. And then suddenly the control pad stopped working. And then it refused to turn on altogether. Yep. RIP, DSi.
I was playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord earlier today, and after I failed another challenge stage I had had enough and was going to play something else. That is, until my Wiimotes decided to stop working. Yep, despite being damn near fully-charged, neither of my Wiimotes decided they wanted to turn on. They don't turn the system on, and they don't turn themselves on. I tried removing the batteries, I tried resynchronizing them, but nothing worked. To say that I am angry is an understatement. I was tempted to just chuck the friggin things, but they're way too expensive to just throw away, despite being junk. I'm going to go play my SNES. At least that never fails.

Friday, April 16th:
Today was my hearing. My lawyer (or "Council," in legal terms) and I met at the place about fifteen minutes beforehand and went over some of the finer details of the case. When the hearing started, I (and my council) was surprised to find out that the hearing was about the weeks of December 20th through the 31st, as well as the first week in January, and not the month of February and March, as I had originally thought.
This threw us a curve, but we regrouped and pressed a couple technicalities. For most of that time, my cell had been shut off, and I had been staying at my mom's house. And so, my knowledge of job offerings at that point was slim to nothing. What almost made me laugh was that my lawyer pointed out that the letters and messages sent to me by the temp agency were all vague and general, not citing any specific jobs or locations. That pissed off the opposing side, I'm sure. I hear tell from an aunt that works for the county that my previous employer (as she is referred to now, ha ha!) has been known to lie and cheat on various applications and other legal stuff.
There has been no official decision. We'll receive it in writing probably some time next week. I'm just glad this is behind me, for now. I have a spotless record... I aim to keep it that way. I am concerned, however, that she may want to file complaints for other periods of time after the ones we just dealt with. I suppose that all I have to do is just keep stickin to my guns.
Time now for a nice blue slushie from Sheetz...

It sounds like you don't have much to worry about. If your previous employer does indeed have a record for cheating people, then I don't see you losing. To me, it seems stupid to try to save money by taking legal action on people. That costs a lot of money...

Nevermind the fact that I own two of three of the current generation game consoles, and enjoy them both. Ignore the fact that I own several 2010 titles and again, enjoy them.
It really is funny, that I should endure this, when the freaking game industry recognizes that retrogames are where its at. Look at mega Man 9 and 10. Look at Bionic Commando. Hell, look at freaking Sonic the Hedgehog (finally). The future of gaming lies in the past. That's not me talking. That's the industry.

Comeuppance is far greater than any pretzel.
Now if they made a comeuppance pretzel, then we'd be onto something.

The date: Thursday, June 24th. The time: like midday? The event: Red Wizard's alter-ego, Edward, is doing is QA calls at work. He overhears a customer say her son's name: Garland. I. Shit. You. Not. I was damn near knocked down when I heard.
I also went to wal-mart today. I bought a flea collar for Smithy. And flea medicine. And a carpet cleaner which smells good and kills fleas. I also bought a pack of socks. Mine have been disappearing lately. Probably due to the workings of the hated cousins of the infamous Underwear Gnomes: the Socks Goblins. Also, I bought a Super Mario Bros. 3 T-shirt. For $7.50. Thank you, summer rollbacks.

Friday, September 24th:
So I took my car in for inspection today. Oh boy.
I need to replace all four tires.
I have a fuel line leak which needs to be taken care of now before it gets worse (a stitch in time...)
I have a brake line problem. Probably needs replaced.
I need new front shocks.
I need an oil change (I can do this myself, but I lack the needed tools).
I need to replace the air filter (again, no biggie, but also no tools).
Rust spot needs taken care of before it spreads
And a partridge in a pear tree.

Man that sucks. Did you get an estimate for how much it would cost to repaird/fix all those things?
What kind of car?
Pretty soon I'm going to have to get new tires (again...never buying used again) and even though I can drive my car with the check engine light on, I'd prefer to get whatever need replacing, replaced (an air intake sensor I believe).
EDIT: Love driving and cars but hate the mechanical that goes along with it.

I haven't got an estimate yet, because the place I usually go to for inspections can't do the brake or fuel lines. So, I'm taking it up tomorrow night to get everything looked at by the mechanic my one uncle uses.
On one hand, I can't complain too much. I've had these tires on this car for damn near as long as I've owned it (ownership now 5 1/2 years). I went like 4 months with the tires it came with and then bought new ones. They've lasted me quite some time, one even with a repaired puncture wound.
My car is a '97 Chevy Blazer. Aside from the old Nova, this is the only car I've owned (or wanted for that matter...). If I ever do buy a new car, it's just going to be a newer version of what I already have (that of course includes the possibilities of the GMC or Oldsmobile equivalents [Jimmy and Bravada respectively]). Hopefully one with four doors instead of two.
Truth is, I don't even enjoy driving that much. In fact, I daresay I hate it. But, it's a necessary evil, and, if I am going to drive, it may as well be in a vehicle I like.

The Event:
So after my (completely justified) but rather (over the top) rant last night, I have been giving the business all day.
So, it turns out that the United States Post Office returned mom's Kinect to the sender (Amazon.com). Apparently I hadn't turned in a change of address form to the postmaster general quickly enough (odd, I've been here for like, 2 or 3 months now... when did he get it?). Also, there was nothing he or anyone else could do to stop mom's Kinect from going back (I call BS).
So, I got on the phone with Amazon.com's customer support service. I played it cool. I let him know what was going on, and asked what was going to happen next. He told me that I would receive a full refund for the Kinect once they receive it. Then, I played my desperation card. I asked him (with a slight edge in my voice), "So basically I have to wait until you guys get the package back and then buy it again and this time pay extra for shipping to get it before Christmas?"
A smart play, on my part (I was always good at card games), as he put me on hold for a minute and came back, stating that I could go online today, buy a new unit for $70 less than I originally paid, and get FREE one-day shipping. It wasn't even Amazon's fault, but they totally helped me out. I told the guy he just saved my mom's Christmas (which is true).

Nice. Awesome to know Amazon is that helpful. $70 less too, can't get any better than that. Plus FREE one day shipping. Nicely played Red.

Well I'm glad you were able to clear it up friend. I know your mom will enjoy that. And it's nice to see customer service still exists somewhere. Good job on your part. Did you pull out Bambi eyes too? (Not that they would have done much good).

Unfortunately, when I do Bambi eyes, I look like a rapist or something.
This week is going to be the worst, longest week all year. I'm really looking forward to saturday for obvious reasons. I'm also looking forward to thursday, the 23rd. Office party. Everybody on the team is bringing in something. I usually do mac & cheese, but some yahoo already picked that (the saturday crew will immediately call foul). So, I'm making this awesome 'tater dish instead. So cheesy, so greasy, so yummy. Extremely high in calories and fat, so you know it's gotta taste good.

I got called in for an interview (which took place today) at my local wal-mart store. Due to some unforeseen problems with their computers, my interview couldn't be completed, but they're going to call me back today or tomorrow to schedule the rest of the interview. There's a good chance I'll be hired there, which is awesome, because I need a job. Also, because I could get a discount on goods I buy there, so I might be able to buy my groceries from there now too. Talk about win. Here's hoping.

I'm sure you'll get the position. You're certainly more then qualified. Either way, best wishes friend.

It's more from a standpoint of, I've seen a lot of interviews with ex and current Wal-Mart employees. They are by all accounts treated like garbage.
...I really wasn't kidding about the "U" word...
But you are right Brian...some of the Wal-Mart shoppers...yikes...

Are you being literal or just being Alucards? Cause that does seem excessive.
I dunno. Not a fan of several of Wal-Mart's previous practices, but I like them more then the "U-Word".
Anyway, I'll still shop at Wal-Marts.

Walmart is a necessary evil.
Cheap place to shop at. You'll rarely find similar products at similar outlets for a cheaper price (Target and K-Mart come to mind).
Best of luck to you with the interview Red.

AlucardsFate

The "U" word is "Union."
It is well documented that Wal-Mart is about as anti-union as any one company can be...and still remain within the law.

I looked up "The U-word" on google and urban dictionary. Urban dictionary was no help at all (or too much help, as the case may be... 15 pages of definitions), and google seemed to think it meant "uppity."

Good luck! The sooner you start this Walmart job, the sooner you'll make money. And the sooner you make money, the sooner you can buy those Borderlands DLC maps. And the sooner you buy those Borderlands DLC maps, the sooner we can play those Borderlands DLC maps.
