So, this is were we rant about our lives, eh? Don't worry, I'm not going to type up 302 threads like I did with my 1Up blogs (let alone put them here; that's a lot of work, even if it's coping and pasting). So where to start...

Due to my work schedule (pretty much a six day work week), I've just been dragging to do some thing I've planned on doing; for some reason, I've been able to train my monsters on Pokemon Diamond. So far I almost have a whole box of level 100's and may even take over the Pokemon WiFi network if I could throw in a few legdendries.

Also I've come to the conclusion that I may have a MMO addiction, but not as bad as my dad's.

Other then that, what's on my mind is as followed:
Should I get Pokemon Platinum, a DSi, or Final Fantasy XIII after I get my tax return. I'm leaning towards XIII.

That's all I can come up for now.

That reminds me....Pokemon Pearl is another game I need to finish this year. I would do the same if it was between Final Fantasy XIII and Pokemon Platinum.

I say get the DSi....If you're lucky, FF XIII will be out in time for next year's tax return, though I wouldn't bet on it.

Tax returns? Out of curiosity, how old are you? o.O

Which Pokemon do you have on your team?

I haven't played Pokemon Pearl because I only have the one DS Lite. And I'm just leaning towards XIII because it's logical, being that I own just that DS.

I don't know how we're going to handle the returns this year; like I said above, but the DSi is still an option.

I'm 23 going to 24.

As for my team, well.....

My current army consist of Espeon, Umbreon,Leafeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, Lopunny, three Lucarios, Empoleon, Marowak, Electivire, Magmortar, two Infernapes, Dagonite, Bellossom, Rotom, Luxray, Vespiquen, Mismagius, Froslass, Torterra, Snorlax, Blaziken, Weavile, Metagross, and Aerodactyl, and I'm still training some more.

And most of these guys, about 90%, are level 100.

Guh, I'm guessing a lot of commitment was towards raising these pokemon...I would be scared to even think of fighting them. Oh, and don't bet on FF13 even coming out for the next two years or so in America....for there is still a tight lip on that game.

There's no reason to be scared, unless you go up against the Marowak, he's EV trained and has a thick club that increases his attack points.

You might be right about FFXIII; I mean, how long have we waited for FFXII?

Development for Final Fantasy XII began in 2001.

Considering it came out in 2006, I count 5 years.

Anyway, despite me having pokemon Diamond and Pearl, my team consists of all Non-Sinnoh Region pokemon. Weird, right?

Not really. I went through the trouble to getting the Blaziken on the card with starting a new game and what not. Besides, the game lets you transfer the non-Sinnoh pokemon after you beat the game.

Log Entry for January 13, 2009:

The week started off rough workwise, but I manage to get into class without having my shift affect me negativly, even though the break meal policy is going to change again for the worst.

I should really stop borrowing too many DVD's unless I don't have much work in college; I've been meaning to watch the original Star Wars Triology, but due to exust and night classes, I can't really find the motivation to do so. In turn I'm returning the triology tonight after class (yes, I'm in on of my classes right now) if the library is open by then. Hopefully I can watch Gunslinger Girl before next week.

Other then that, my Blaziken is at level 97, soon to be level 98, and, well, I think I was the first or second person to finish the midterm in this class (it's a Microsoft Office Class, by the way).

Entry for January 17, 2009

Got through the week, and now I'm tired, so I'll be resting here in a minute. Just a few things pop in my head, pretty much about taxes and games; that's just how my mind works: "Do I put anything down for school on the tax forms even if I started one month from next year or... oh, Shin Megami Tensei Online! Yay!" Speaking of the two, another is added on the think list, The Conduit. This looks like very good Wii game, and this is the kind of shooter that could work for the Wii, and thanks to that, I have four choice, or wait, five...? Anyways, back to Shin Megami Tensei Imagine Online with my character, the Cyberpunk Scotsman! (Apology to any Scotsman on here let alone the Internet)

I don't really even dig shooters...and I am excited for this game...

A real case for why the Wii is a power upgrade from last gen. I accept the fact that it's not as powerful as the other two...(It's not supposed to be) but people saying it's only as good as the PS2 is crap...this proves it....

Neither is PS3...

But I happen to think the Wii has a respectable list of good titles...it just seems like it doesn't have as many because they are swimming in the sea of garbage that some developers produce for it...

The Ratio of Bad vs good is much higher...But the good games are there....

The Conduit is looking damn good...but it's still a Shooter...so I'm wary....

MadWorld looks awesome...I've been jonesin for this one since it was revealed....

No More Heroes 2...if it makes it out this year.....I will kill for...the first one was one of my favorite games I played in the past few years....

Punch Out...if it makes it out this year is another good one to list.

Tenchu of course...since the series looks like it make have made a return to what made it awesome before...

House of the Dead Overkill...cause Zombie shooting is always fun...(Light gun style arcade shooters are fun...more people need to bring theirs over to Wii..it's perfect for it...)

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time while I haven't really seen much or anything at all on it...I have high hopes!

Muramasa: The Demon Blade looks cool...stylized 2D action game.

Plus whatever multiplatform releases it sees for those who ONLY have a Wii. (I have that big glossy black thing over there....so I can get them on there...)

Entry for January 24, 2009

First I would like to say that I've turned 24 on Friday and I'm still working at a crappy job. Anyways, onward to the entry:

Got my W-2's along with my paycheck yesterday, and apparently the primary plan for when we get our tax returns is getting new glasses; I agree with this because my glasses are six to seven years overdue; in fact, the only thing left of my prescription glasses are the lens (the frames broke, so I had to put the lens in a frame from a pair of cheap reading glasses from Wal-Mart). Whatever money is left I hope I can go with at least a game, maybe The Conduit since it looks like a great shooter for the Wii, so I may get that; I've been a fan of shooters since I played Doom and Duke Nukem when I was in elementary school, so I get interested in a shooter when I...
44754
..........crap, I'm curious now.
And I think I just had a realization...
Foxem, Nukem... I guess that alias is not just based on the joke from Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Anyways, even thought I love playing Imagine Online, I think I'll be on another MMO, if it ever gets downloaded (I swear, what's the deal with bit torrents?) and if my dad stop screwing with the wireless router because the latency in WoW is high. Anyways, I'm downloading a game called Requiem: Bloodymare, a bit of a dark game that I guess that takes place in a post apocalyptic future where science and the dark arcane arts rule; I actually played a bit of this game when it was in the open beta sessions and I liked it: it was darker then some other MMOs, races and classes were a bit creative (one of the races looks like a bunch of blue vampires that are ready to go a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show), and amazing really violent; they don't just add blood to the game, they put in rag doll physics in both the monsters and the PCs and sometimes they split apart and then some.

Well, other then that, I got some business math homework to work on (working on percents and discounts, along with the lovely chain of discounts, end of month discounts, and the receipt of goods discounts) and I pretty much have some plans tomorrow with someone, so til next time.

Three different jobs this past year? I only had three jobs my whole life. As for my work, let's say I work in a fast food restaurant that I consider my own little personal damnation with little fringe benefits.

Wow, that Requiem game looks really dark o.O
May have gotten darker since I last played it; I just found out that they added a new race. May be awhile before I start playing it again; it's been downloading for four and a half hours and it's at 29% on torrent. Heh, if I add this to the download section of the forums, I should add "Warning: Will take an eternity to download" on the post.

Hehe. Damnation. Why not find another job then?
I wouldn't take it word for word; I'm probably exaggerating because it's a frustrating job. Besides, I'm well established there, so I get a bit out of it other then my wage.
Wow, that's slow. Not a lot of seeders, huh. With those downloads, I usually leave the computer on overnight.
I know nothing about torrents; I'm use to normal downloads, but I think that's slower, even with this 2 gig game. And I might leave it overnight, if I switch users for my mom instead of her logging off my workspace. I think it's a bad day to be on the Internet, though; Dad and I are having trouble with our connection. We need a cable connection for the Internet.

Umbrae
01-25-2009, 02:21 AM
Yeah, a cable connection is always more stable than wireless.

Torrent is a form of P2P (peer to peer) network. When you start your download, you're basically taking parts of that file from people who have it on their computer (and are "seeding").

The more seeders, the faster your download speed.

Sly_Foxem

Yeah, a cable connection is always more stable than wireless.

Our computers aren't wireless though; they're both wired connected through the wireless router (I purchased the wireless router so I can play my WiFi games on my DS and Wii).

I see. So I can take that 8 to 10 seeds is a bad thing? ^^;

Umbrae
01-25-2009, 03:16 AM
Well, it actually depends on seeder/leacher ratio. 8-10 seeders and 100 leechers is definitely bad.

What torrent client are you using? I remember using BitComet and then switching to Azureus. Both were ok, but once I tried uTorrent, I never went back to those two. uTorrent is the best one. My downloading speed even increased after the switch.

"When all Hell is breaking loose, you'd be riding the eye of the storm."
...yeah, I would be riding the storm, but my sanity wouldn't.

Well, apparently I can take quite a bit, but that's because I'm a alien robot from the Planet Cleveland.
Work has been a really pain, since yesterday most of the night shift called off due to the weather, which cleared up after 11:00 am I might add; everywhere else closed (plus my college) and, for being a good Samaritan, decided to stay longer to help out my crew, which caused my sanity to go into the negatives. Anyways, I've recovered after a bit with some Star Fox Command, which now I am at Rank P.

Right now my primary objectives are to complete as much of my Microsoft Office Projects during the weekend and finish them at class next week; being the kind of person I am, I can do that right now, but I am really tired, so I'll leave it for the weekend. Once I get my works straighten out, I'll have time to enjoy my selections from the library, such Cyrano de Bergerac (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_sI1pLhiug) and .hack. Problem with my library is that there are some titles they don't have, such Parasite Eve (the novel) and Masters of Doom.

My mom did my taxes earlier this week and we're bound to receive it next week sometime, or so I was told; we're going to wait for my dad's taxes to come in and get our glasses (I really need a new pair; I'm surprised I can still see through these lens). With whatever is left I may get a game, most likely The Conduit since I really don't need a third Pokemon game if I'm still playing the one and have no other DS. Also I don't think Final Fantasy XIII hasn't really made any progress what so...

Ah, you should get into more detail regarding your crew driving you nuts.

So what's Osu? Google couldn't help me.

Well, the crew at the front lines lose some orders let alone call back orders that never came up on screen, and they can't seem to ring up anything correctly so they call it back, right after we finish the order. They're also loud when they gossip and their quiet when they're calling back orders, so we hear their gossip but can't understand what the order is, and there are some people (not sure if we still have this problem or not) who complained about not having enough hours but don't show up for work. Wednesday really got to me; we had bad weather, so most of the night shift called off, and as soon the weather cleared up, all the customers came in while we were short, VERY short (I should recover by Sunday).

As for Osu! I'll put it on the download threads after Mom goes to work (let my folks have the computers, and I'm going off to the library to pick up some items).

Entry for February 1/2 (which ever day it is after I post this), 2009

So currently I'm seeing someone that I was arranged to meet about two weeks ago, and to make a long story short, I got to thinking after some rounds on Mario Kart DS with her (We played off of her card because I don't have a copy). I've been hyping about The Conduit for some time now, but in a way, I already have some good shooters: Quake IV, Metroid Prime Hunters, Ultimate Doom (though I can't install it on the Dell...); so even though The Conduit is looking good, I think I may put it on hold. Now that I got a taste of Mario Kart again (last time I played Mario Kart was when my best friend brought over his N64 and I play Mario Kart 64 with him and a friend of ours), I figured with whatever tax return is left over I'm going to buy Mario Kart Wii (just the game, though; I already have the steering wheel from an Ubisoft racing game I traded in a long time ago).

And now its the next day, I can't play Metroid Prime Hunters T.T. I got quite a day in the next eight hours or so, so I may ready up my backpack for school; presentation props, class materials, USB Flash Drive, the copy of Hellboy: Odder Jobs I'm borrowing from the library...

This has been a long Saturday; my girl friend had a seizure from her epilepsy (she's fine now; she at getting rest), spent some time at the hospital (first time I've witnessed a seizure), went to her place to make sure she'll be fine, went back to my place so she can relax, and then went back to her place so she can sleep without having to stay up late with me (she needs much rest after an episode). Also, it was that day I met her folks; I was just glad my girl friend's sister wasn't around when I met their dad (her sister is disturbing and, to put it nicely, evil), but when we went to see their mom, the first thing I heard when we reached the floor of her place was "Hey Mom, met the guy who's banging your daughter!" (for the record, I never banged anything in life at all; yeah, 24 and still one). Now that I got the fun facts about my weekend out of the way...

I'm tired but I think I'll play some games before I call it a night; the only thing I can do I think is grind some levels on Shin Magten Tensei: Imagine Online and maybe Taikodom if I get bored with the bronze tunnel levels. I'm pretty much tired and I don't think I can play any thing else online like Brawl or...

...I don't know if I should laugh or cry. Well, I'm off. By the way, if anyone got a copy of Monster Lab and don't have anyone to add to their only means of online gameplay friend list (Worst. Online. Feature. Ever for a Wii game; solely Friend Codes?! :neko_004:), let me know.

Pretty much spent the weekend with my girlfriend (nothing fancy, just watched some movies and what not), ending with spending time at her place on Sunday; there are crazy people there, and my girl friend's sisters daughter erased my saved game on Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age (don't laugh) after getting the party from the orginal game, so I've resent the game data and started over (renaming the main character from the first game Rion, from Galerians, which I think I may pick up again).

Today was a pain, mostly because one of the coworkers at work was a total ass; didn't have his uniform, always talked back at his superviser when being corrected, and complains about everything.

And to make things interesting, I found out that the people giving me loans for school thought I was going to graduate soon, meaning payments starting soon; got it under control though.

After my exam today I'm going to check with my Xbox 360; it hasn't been playing some DVDs lately and I hope it didn't give up the ghost.

Still waiting for the time I go for my eye exam, and hope there will be some money left over for a game, though it's up in the air again.

And last week my folks got a puppy; they named it Thor; my girlfriend calls him shithead.

This week I have all the nights off from school before the next term starts, so I'll be on the computer after work most of the time (that or watching some DVDs) playing either Shin Megami Tensei Imagine or Quake Live, depending on my mood. Kind of wish that I could have the Quake Live files installed on the campus computers so I can frag some gamers before class starts, but the computers are set to restore after shutdowns and restarts, and that would be against the code of conduct on computers and I could get into a shit load of trouble of playing Quake Live on campus property. Anyways, got Viewtiful Joe last Friday, though I haven't played it yet; might play it after I type up this blog, or the copy of Sam and Max Season One I'm borrowing from the library (I've played episode 4, "Abe Lincoln Must Die!" and I love the comedy put in it. Tonight is my last evening off from college, so I guess I have to make it count (In others words, just play some games and read manga like I always do regardless if it's a school night or not). Speaking of schooling and gaming, I've managed to sell off some of the text books I'm not going to use and I'm currently working on a list of which few games to buy with the money from said books. The current list goes as follows:

-Guitar Hero: Metellica
-Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2
-Mass Effect
-Armor Core 4
-Blue Dragon
-Parasite Eve (buying again.)
-Persona 4
-Puzzle Quest: Galaxtic
-Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
-Fallout 3
-Robocalypse
-The World Ends With You
-Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
-Lux-Pain
...and maybe more to come.

The few things I'm looking forward to this week is getting what I need for some of the classes I have, borrowing a copy of Fallout 3 from a friend, and the weekend.

Now it's time to finish reading the last two volumes of .hack//G.U.

My dad is really getting on my nerves; first he's stuck up about how the Dell sucks when it comes to playing WoW (The Creature is down, Dad and my bro thinks it's the power supply), he want to do a system restore when there's no real serious problem with it (Sure it needs one, but it's still running well, for it being Vista OS operated), and he doesn't seem to care about the router and thinks it's a problem. When it comes to the router, he really gets me aggravated; he messes with it so much that I have to reset the advisor program so that I can maintain and secure the router afterwards, and this was Monday night, pass midnight. :neko_001:

From the looks of things, PSN, Xbox Arcade Live (I don't really know the name), and the Wiiware and Virtual Consoles seem to put the Phantom concept into effect with the current gen consoles, and quite well, it seems.

I've read that article that was posted on the Onlive thread (http://www.foxkei.com/forums/showthread.php?t=511), and it seems to make some good points.

I don't even know how the hell that happened! When she got to the point, "...since you're taking two classes this term..." I stopped her and said I had three; then we went to the admissions office. *Note that I'm using my user name in the following in place of my real name, for Internet and yatta yatta yatta.* When we got there, she said, "Okay, I got Sly here..." and then the admissions person replied, "Sly Foxem?" Went to FuncoLand so I can buy a copy of F-Zero GP Legend for the GBA, and then found out that they didn't have a copy; there was, however, a copy at another GameStop store near the CiCi's pizza buffet I occasionally go to. When I got there, I asked for it, they got it, and then they said there was a buy two get one free sale.

I asked my dad, who was there at the time because he had the money and he drove me there, and said it was okay just as long it wasn't too much. Ended up getting F-Zero GP Legend, Game & Watch Gallery 4, and Max Payne (which I don't recommend playing on a DS Lite, by the way).

When in the car going home, I put the F-Zero game in my DS Lite; the text was in Japanese. I finally found out, after looking on the label, it's an import. I actually got an import in an American game shop by luck, and then found out the battery is deader then a door nail.

I was going to crack it open to see if I can replace it, but decided not to; if I wanted to unlock a crap load of F-Zero machines, I would just get the GameCube title (or download the 64 and SNES titles). As for F-Zero for GBA (that's what the title screen calls it), I'm keeping since I just want to race in my free time, and for returns I would have to bring in all three games.

Free for the whole weekend, so I'm going to play Tomb Raider Annaversary, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, and my new GBA games and I'm going to watch some Charlie Chaplin movies.

PS: Can anyone confirm that the older GBA games have rechargeable batteries?
Also just found out that the game is F-Zero: Maximum Velocity.

So I went to the glass display counter, where they usually keep other CD's behind, and looked to my right to see if there were any games on top of the counter.

And there it was, a legal copy, with the product key on the back, of Microsoft Office 97, and it works. Granted Office 2007 has much more to offer, but since that lets you create files of the older format, I can now do some homework without having to use the P.O.S. Open Office software.

I also found where they were keeping the other CD's; got GTA 2 along with Office 97, for cheap.

My college has spare parts, so I'm building a system; I'll put in details later. Just only hope my Microsoft Word instructor knows that I have dibs on the little Compaq monitor in the corner...

Started playing Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor for the DS; they just don't give the playerable characters a break at all in the story, even with the fact the batteries in their COMPs have to be recharged, even during the blackout. They also made contracts more easier with the Devil Auction, and appearently the Cathedral of Shadows has a website...

That's all for now. Until then, I might be putting up the next post through MY PC, that may be running off of Linux...

I want to play Devil Survivor badly. Can't say that I've built a computer before.

First off, Devil Survivor is really good, but a little confusing...

Second, word of advice, never change the power supply of an HP computer.

After I've got the power supply in, plugging in all the wires and putting in the hard drive and the ribbons, I've plugged in the monitor and keyboard in the system, and then when I plugged in the system itself... it blew up (well, it shorted out, but still scared the crap out of me). Well, I can safely say that I have spare parts.

Not much to make mentioned: Still gaming, though little of due to work and college killing me (I don't have the evidence to prove so yet), been invited by someone I knew from 1UP to Facebook, so now I have a page there (amateur photography!), and working on changing my alignment on Shin Megami Tensei Online to Law. Oh, and I'm still working on leveling Pokemon up to 100 and plan on getting either Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES or Space Invaders Extreme.

You're going to have a lot of fun with Persona 3 FES if you plan on getting it. Just be warned that it will take you a long time to finish both game modes, but I think you may know that by now. I played it last year and SnakeEyez is playing it right now.

I saw that you asked about if the trading thread was going on. Are you interested in trading any of your games? We may be able to work something out.

I've heard of a place that sells a varity of games, including games from two generations ago. I might find it cheaper there or find Devil Summoner vs. The Souless Army.

I'll take a look through my games and see if there's anything I want to trade.

I'm stuck in Microsoft Access class and I'm finished with all the assignments, even the extra credit assignment.

But time warping back about last month or so: we had a corprate inspection one Thursday and the lady who was inspecting us said that I was one of the most impressive grill cooks she has ever seen and wondered about my other strong skills in the store. I don't know what's worse, impressing the corprate lady of McDonald's or having hearing that my brother saying that I am smarter, which I have to find curious. My brother can build his comps from the case up and he's saying that I'm smarter? Granded this inflated my ego, but smarter? I actually question this solely on my current enviroment of education, the college I go to. I'm breezing through it while making the Dean's List three times in a row, and those are for all the terms I've been enrolled. Am I taking easy courses or something?!

Onward to gaming:
Current borrowing from the library: Persona 4 (still!) and Rune Factory for the Wii.
I'm also thinking if I should reserve a game soon, and if so what....

May enter another entry later this week, if I have the energy, but now time to go home and finish note taking for practical business class and then perhaps get into a Fate match (capture points on a map) on Shin Megami Tensei Online.

Before I leave, I would like to say one word about the evolution of video games...

Irony!

Before I do a cram study session, a little tab bit of my mishaps thus far (trying to get it together, with more effort put in compared to how much Osaka does).

Short story on gaming, I may not try to put much effort into games borrowed from the library, or at least do as much work I can do so I can have time to screw around (get it together, get it together...).

Anyways, over the weekend, Firefox wouldn't bloody start, as in it wouldn't open or pop up in task master; I couldn't even enter safe mode. This was the second time it happened, and I don't know how Dad remedied it the last time, and he doesn't remember either. I've tried every method I found, and still nothing. I finally said "screw it, I'm switching to another browser." So now I'm using Opera, but getting it to work was a hassle too. I had to do something in the registry so I can get the install file to work. I managed to get it installed, and I'm using it.

Opera is very different, a very simple browser. Not only that, I think it's loads pages faster than Firefox did; I just set my Opera to Auto Turbo and it loads quickly. It streamed videos on Game Trailers without any video lag. I'm going to look into this, but I'm already liking Opera already.

And for my studies, I'm researching something called "Cloud Computing," a subject that my practical management instructor recommended looking into. I found a book completely on Cloud Computing at my library (I can find a book on Cloud Computing, but I can't find anything related to Sakura Taisen?), a read a bit in the introduction, and now I feel like I should experiment with this; there's a section in the book that goes through Cloud Computing for average computer people such as myself.

Back on the gaming (GET IT TOGETHER, GET IT TOGETHER...!), I'm going to reserve Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love. I never seen any of the anime or read any of the manga, but I've searched a bit on game play from previous titles, and I think it's kind of cool. Now all I need is five buck.

That's all for now, and so...

OPERA MAN, BYE, BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-YA!

PS: GET IT TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!:neko_001:
