View Full Version : 1up: The 2004-2006 Years

My time on 1up can be divided into two eras:
-The 2004-2006 Years
-2008: The Last Hurrah
1up's future is uncertain, despite the news that UGO won't absorb 1up. Still, there's a chance that 1up might shut down in the future. As part of my preparations for leaving 1up, I'm backing up all of my 1up blogs on Foxkei. I added commentary to all of my blogs.
I joined 1up on November 2, 2004 after following that site and its predecessor Gamers.com for the past couple years. I spent a few months on the forums of Gamefaqs before I decided to join a better community. 1up was the answer. It was a far different place five years ago. The community was very lively. Clubs were active enough that they lasted longer than a couple months. Did you know that you had to sometimes edit your club posts because someone posted before you? A number of bloggers experienced a great deal of popularity. We wrote our posts the hard way using html. Those were the days.
1up was the first social networking site I ever joined and it was there that I began blogging. Keep in mind that most of my writing wasn't that great at the time.
Another thing to keep in mind: there was a time when I used to get along with my dad, something my early blogs reflect. For those who don't know, my parents are divorced. I lived at my mom's house but I sometimes went to my dad's house because of visitation. I'll indicate if any of my blogs had to do with whatever happened when I was at my dad's place.
Well....here I go....
Commentary follows blog post.
First Post
Posted: Tue, 02 Nov 2004 00:07:32 PST
This is my first post. I was shocked by 1up's review of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I was expecting a 10, but a 9.0! I feel really sorry for Jeremy Parish, who has to deal with a mountain of hatemail. This is odd, considering Grand Theft Auto Double Pack got a 9.5 Hell, the last 9.5 was given last year.
My first blog post on 1up. That's all I have to say.
Disturbing Moments Part One
Posted: Tue, 02 Nov 2004 00:39:08 PST
You ever come across something unintentionally disturbing in a game. A couple months ago, I was playing Mario vs. Donkey Kong. For some reason, at the beginning of the Mini-Mario stages, Mario always say "Letsa go, little guy" Really creepy.
I have to admit, some of my early blogs were really funny.
Disturbing Moments Part Two
Posted: Sat, 06 Nov 2004 00:27:54 PST
Since I am really bored, I've been playing Luigi's Mansion. Don't ask me why. Whenever you place Luigi next to an object (chests, tables, etc), he starts humping it. Sometimes, he starts saying "Oh yeah." Do you think Nintendo is hinting at something?
To this day, I could never figure out why I played Luigi's Mansion out of boredom.
Unavailabe

Don't have the time to post anything. Just too much homework. I will either post late at night, weekends, and any time I don't have homework.
No commentary necessary.
Finally!
Posted: Tue, 09 Nov 2004 22:30:49 PST
I finally got some of my games back, including Onimusha 3, Burnout 3, and Digaea. I also got the memory card containg the first two and Phantom Brave. It was stuck in a car in service for about a month. Feel so happy
I left some stuff in my dad's car, which had to be taken in for service.
The way visitation worked, I only saw my dad every other weekend. I also stayed at his house on Wednesdays every three weeks. My mom and dad would switch vacation time with my two brothers, one sister, and I every year. For example, we would spend Thanksgiving with my dad one year and with my mom the following year.
Metal Gear Madness

Metal Gear Solid is comming in a couple days. I found some good parodies http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/168134 http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/173404 Can someone tell me how to create links?
An html-illiterate Devon forgot the 3 in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
I stopped visiting Newgrounds a while ago.
Burnout 3..........
Posted: Tue, 09 Nov 2004 23:42:31 PST
Ever since I got Burnout 3 in September, I played it the most on the PS2. It is crack. For a month, I went without it. It was in a car, which was sent to the shop. It took like a month or a month and one week to get it back. Makes me sooo happy. This is how much I love it.
This blog makes a reference to the "Finally!" post.
Sweet, Sweet Irony

It has been more than two months since Acclaim filed for bankruptcy. I like to share a couple facts. Back in 1988 (I think), Acclaim offered to purchase Electronic Gaming Monthly. Ed Harris, the founder, turned down the offer. This was the same company who, when EGM gave Total Recall crap reviews, pulled their ads from the mag. Ironic, isn't it?
I don't know which is the worse of the two, Acclaim or UGO buying EGM. At least both scenarios neither happened.
Yipeee!

I finally got Halo 2 tonight. My dad originally was buying a movie at FYE, when he found one of the two last copies. He also got the Xbox Live starter kit. I have one from two years ago, but was too lazy to set it up. Maybe this time I will.
Fact: I had an Xbox and a PS2 at my dad's house while I had an older PS2 and a Gamecube at my mom's house. I took the PS2 from my dad's to my mom's place when the older PS2 broke two years ago.
Fact: I didn't sign up for Xbox Live until last month.
Halo stuff

Halo 2 came out last night, so it be appropiate posting a good fan movie. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/202039
Just another Newgrounds movie.
Some other stuff

# More Metal Gear stuff. Earlier this year, I found a great article on the old 1up.com You have to see it for yourself. http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_zd1up/is_200404/ai_ziff123421
Can someone please teach me how to make an automatic link?
This thought happens every once in a while. I think about where Sega is heading. Since abandoning the Dreamcast, they have being going downhill. Don't get me wrong here; some great games came out- Sonic Advance series, Panzer Dragoon Orta (a personal favorite), Otogi, Skies of Arcadia Legends, and the Phantasy Star Online games. Also, the highly underrated Rez, which I'll get in the future. Other than the ususal Sonic games, Sega does not have a hit like it used to. The company still support arcades, which are dead today. Since they won't make much profit, like Midway, Sega should pull out of the arcades. I haven't seen any decent games from Sega. I did have Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg for a short while. Not it was bad; just plain boring. The last Sega game I really liked was Sonic Advance 3. Big improvement over 2. It has an excellent sense of speed. Like 1up's review said, some of the boss fights were too frustrating. I like to add there were some cheap spots. I ended hitting my head twice because of this. Sega's website has gone for the worse. No longer do they support RealOne arcade (dang!), and they stripped many features. All I just hope is that Sega does not go out of buisiness. If they do, it would be a very sad day.
I still didn't know how to use html.
The news article was actually an April Fools Joke, something I didn't know at the time.
Nothing Specific

Just saw the DS and the PSP added to the platforms :)
Here is something to think about. The Playstation Portable is a really powerful system. When it gets released, it will bring an effect on the industry. Expect rising development costs for portable systems for the next two years. With the Game Boy Advance, developing games were cheap (yes, including all the Barbie games [shudder] ) People will need more time to do 3D games.
This has both a bad effect and a good effect. If the Nintendo DS follows the 64, then we are all screwed. The time period between decent games will widen. The rising devolpment costs could also help Nintendo. Lord knows how many crappy games ended up on the Game Boy Advance, and with the upcoming DS, people won't have the same luxury of making a cheap cash-in.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. Just take a look at some of the games people make for the DS.
Portable ranting
Posted: Sun, 21 Nov 2004 22:58:16 PST
I found out the DS came out today earlier in the afternoon. I heard both good things and bad things about it. I plan on getting the Nintendo DS soon. Hate to say it, but it looks very promising. There are not that many good lauch games, other than Mario 64x4 and a couple others. The library will get better later on. I just hope they have a bunch of shooting games.
It is rather shocking seeing The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap getting little attention.
Lol at "I just hope they have a bunch of shooters." The selection of games for the DS has come a very long way from the system's launch in 2004.

2004 Awards
Posted: Tue, 23 Nov 2004 22:39:49 PST
I just casted my votes for all the categories for this year's 1up awards. Picking game of the year was super tough. I ended up voting for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. If they allowed more than one game, I'd vote for that game, Burnout 3, Ratchet and Clank: Up your Arsenal, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Halo 2.
This brings me to another point. What a difference a year makes. It seemed much easier to pick a game of the year than it did last year. 2003 was one of the most uneven years for games in a long time. For me, not one game stood out as the game of the year. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic should have not won the game of the year; the whole award should have been cancelled.
I will look back at 2004, and regard it as one of the best years in gaming history.
I still kick myself for not playing enough KOTOR 1.
Just set up a new club
Posted: Mon, 06 Dec 2004 20:43:34 PST
I have just created my first club, 2004 in Review. The year is coming to a close, and I created this club for looking back this past year. This club is for talking about everything 2004, from news to games to anything else.
That club tanked before it could ever take off.
Sigh

I recently heard XBN and GMR are shutting down, which really came as a shock. This is really sad, since both of them were excellent magazines.
I'll probably miss GMR the most, since it was my favorite magazine after EGM. It was well written, fair reviews, and most important, a great sense of humor. The covers were cool, and I always had a blast reading the Retroactive section.
I first heard about GMR from reading EGM. I soon went to EB Games, and there I subscribed to GMR. #5 was my first issue. One of the issues had "Courage Under Fire", a really harsh look at Nintendo, which made me want to cry. And then, earlier this year, came the most shocking thing. They ran a review of Final Fantasy VII in the Retroactive section, and gave it a 7! And now, GMR is dead. Thank you EB Games, you heartless bastards. GMR showed so much potential.
XBN was a different story. I bought almost every issue, from the time it started. I began subscribing to XBN earlier this year. They were really harsh on reviews, but still it was a good magazine. It took me longer to find out XBN was being shut down. I salute XBN for being the best XBOX magazine.
That leaves only Electronic Gaming Montly, Official U.S. Playstation Magazine, and Computer Gaming World left. I don't read CGW, and am soon subscribing to OPM. I am really glad EGM is around, as it is the best gaming mag ever, and nobody can replace it.
Ziff Davis shut down at least one magazine every year since 1up was created in 2003. I used to be a hardcore Nintendo fanboy back in the day, which is why I couldn't stomach the "Courage Under Fire" article when it was published in GMR. Man, I miss that magazine. I think the last four words of this blog still holds true.
And Now Something Else
Posted: Fri, 24 Dec 2004 03:29:30 PST
I just beat Call of Duty today in three days. This game is the first "real" PC game that I bought and beat. Never had an oppurtunity before because I had a friggin Mac. Not that they are bad or anything, but even movie games come out months after the other versions!
Back to Call of Duty. Really impressive presentation, incredible graphics, and a great muscial score. It is soooo much better than Medal of Honor: Frontline. My complaints: too short and the last couple parts could have been done better.
Score (not including multiplayer): 9.0/10
I had a Mac at my mom's house and a PC at my dad's house.
Finally beat Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal
Posted: Fri, 24 Dec 2004 23:50:29 PST
I beat Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal about an hour ago. I had such a blast playing it, even thought this is the only game I beat in the trilogy.
Up Your Arsenal is by far the best Ratchet and Clank game. The weapons, the main staple of the games, are as creative as ever. For the most part, they are easy and fun to use, such as the ever-so-popular Morph-O-Ray, and the weapons are almost balanced. Some are better off unused, like the Holo Shield. What makes the weapons a blast is blowing stuff up, which never gets old.
The story is well written and has a great sense of humor. From Captain Qwark's mishaps to pop culture references, this is one game where the cut-scenes aren't a drag. Just keep in mind: some of the stuff are for older audiences, so just hope your child/younger sibling doesn't get the joke about Qwark and the monkey later on.
One of the issues have been addressed here. The tedious space fights in Going Commando are replaced by more interesting side games. The lack of real puzzles is not an issue since the game is all about the action. Depending on the person, the difficulty is balanced out, as is the money system.
I have trouble finding complaints. A couple items should not have made the cut (points finger at Holo Shield and Heli-Pack). Also, there are minor bouts of slowdown. It may not look like big leap from Going Commando, but still, it is an execellent game.
But these faults are really small quibbles, since this is one of the best games of the year. My mistake was buying GTA: San Andreas and Ratchet and Clank:UYA at the same time. I ended up spending more time on Up Your Arsenal than San Andreas.
Score 10/10
+Great Sense of Humor
+Weapons rule
+Balanced money system
+Tuned difficulty
+Blowing stuff up never gets old
+Rarely any tedious side games
-minor slowdown
-some unneeded items
One of the few reviews I wrote while I was on 1up.

The Oscars
Posted: Sat, 26 Feb 2005 23:00:22 PST
The oscars are tommorow night. I don't give a damn about it. I am not going to watch it, not even the beginning (Who actually watches the entire thing?)
The academy awards is an overrated awards ceremony.
The Academy Awards have a bad taste in selecting good movies.
The seclection for best picture this year is a disappointment. No offense to anybody, but Ray is the only execption, since had the real Ray Charles not pass away recently, the movie would not have gotten the attention it has now.
Once they nominated The Time Machine a couple years back for any award, I stopped trusting the Oscars.
My biggest problem with them is the glaring omission of a Best Comedy Award. Seriously, the genre makes up a good portion of the movie industry. After nearly 75 years of experience, those boneheads should have realized to include the genre. Just having a best comedy can make a difference. With the comedy genre making up a reasonable amount of the industry, I don't see why it shouldn't be included. It can make a huge difference. I'd be more interested in watching it, and it will attract more viewers. If I could vote for best comedy, it would be Anchorman.
Don't watch the oscars. It is a waste of time. Just wake up Monday and find the results.
The Academy will never have a Best Comedy Award as long as the Oscars are still around.

The PSP
Posted: Thu, 24 Mar 2005 15:47:29 PST
So the PSP finally came out. Frankly, I am very excited. However, I don't feel like getting one yet. Even though the launch titles are better than the DS', it does not impress me, except for Metal Gear Acid and Luminies. I am still happy with the Game Boy Advance, and will keep buying games for it.
I might get movies for my PSP, and I know I am not using it as a music player.
I plan on getting one in a couple days. I'm sure they won't be sold out by then. I was able to get Halo 2 and Playstation 2 a couple days after their launches.
I need to play my PSP more often, now that I have a lot of good games for it.
PSP (part two)
Posted: Thu, 24 Mar 2005 17:27:31 PST
Forget about what I said in my previous post. I am getting the PSP.
My most wanted games
1. Metal Gear Ac!d
2. Lumines
3. Ridge Racers
4. Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower
I'm getting my mom to get me one at Circuit City (just hope they still have them in stock.) Bad news is I won't get my hands on it until my birthday, which is roughly two months. I just hope I can survive that long.
Out of the four games, I only got Luminies and Ridge Racer.

A look at the boards of GameFAQs
Posted: Sat, 09 Apr 2005 20:48:52 PDT
One of the sites I would always go on the computers at camp last summer was GameFAQs. One of my friends there had an account, and I thought it was cool if I had one. I created mine right after getting home from camp.
As I spent more time on the site, I realized how awful the GameFAQs boards were.
The site does a good life of making the lives of new users a living hell with the dammned karma system. It is where you gain priveleges on the boards by collecting karma, or points. What makes it so unfriendly is the fact you can only earn one karma per day by logging on the site. Problem is, you need 70 days worth of karma before you get the ability to search topics.
I used to make topics, and have people give links to simillar ones, which I viewed as an insult. Some of these boards have over 100 topics, and I didn't feel like going through every single page.
I found this one topic at GameFAQs. It is "500 ways to kill a N-Gage", which was created on 12/01/03. One and a half year later, it is still running. It was entertaining for a while, but then it got hold. Hell, the topic is 40 pages long.
And now, some of the worst of GameFAQs, on the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas board.
How does this game compare to pong? What the ****! Stupidest thing I heard yet on the site.
That wraps it up for a look at the boards of GameFAQs.
Makes me glad I discovered Foxkei.

Stressed Out!!!
Posted: Tue, 12 Apr 2005 23:00:04 PDT
It is just 11PM, and I'm trying to go to sleep. Problem is, my younger brother is awake, and is making noise. I have trouble going to sleep.
There. I took out my stress. Now I feel more relaxed.
For those who don't know, my younger brother Shaun has autism. He's smart and knows how to behave, but he has trouble communicating with other people. There have been times where he has kept my mom and I up late at night because he wouldn't go to sleep. One time, I told him to go back to his room and he proceeded to knock his hand on a wall. Thankfully, stuff like that rarely happens.
I'm back
Posted: Tue, 03 May 2005 14:01:53 PDT
Hello! I'm back. It's been a month since I posted a new blog.
So a couple things happened to me. Last weekend, I got home from a camping trip. The first thing that I did was take my computer out of sleep mode. My computer started running and then it started making weird noises. It sounded like constant clicking. I turned off my computer and turned it on again. It was still making those stupid noises. I ended up shutting it down.
The point is, my computer is not working again after having it fixed two months ago. As of now, I am getting my computer checked, so I won't be able to use it for the next week or so.
So I am posting this blog in the school library, on their crappy computers. I mean, all they have here are first generation iMacs.
I may not be able to post much in the next couple days, but look out if I do.
Update (5/5/2005)
I expect to have my computer back this afternoon. !Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
I used to be in Boy Scouts and Venturing, a branch of the BSA for older scouts that is co-ed.
The computer I'm referring to in this blog is the Mac I have at my mom's house.
Yes, my school's library still had first-generation iMacs when I wrote this blog. We didn't switch to OS X until the following year.
Back in Action
Posted: Thu, 05 May 2005 22:14:25 PDT
I finally got my computer back.
So I can finally blog like normal.
Damn it. Can't think of anything to say.
15 more days until my birthday, which is 15 days until my mom will give me my Playstation Portable.
About a month and a half until I can get my drivers license.
Writer's block is never fun.
Newgrounds Reviews
Posted: Fri, 06 May 2005 21:47:52 PDT
I have just joined the The 1up Quote book.
I visit Newgrounds regularly. I'm known as "Captain_Anonymous" there. One of the great things you can do is leaving a review for a movie/game you love/like/hate. Unfortunately, alot of the reviewers are total assholes. They don't know how to leave a good review for a crappy submission.
Some people will only say "This sucks.". Nothing else. Others will call the author(s) gay or something else. And some people will make threats or something like that.
If you want to find crappy reviewers, go to the movie Drageost Postei (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/210507). Keep in mind this is a copy-off of Numa Numa Dance, complete with a kid constantly flashing his stomach, so if you haven't seen the original, go see it. More than 3/4 of the reviewers have left crappy reviews. Here is the best of them:
There are some people who are abused...
There are some people who are hungry...
And then...
There are some people who NEED to be beaten, such as these guys. I'm normaly a nice person but honestly...this is what makes me fear the future of the world....

From reading reviews for Drageost Postei, it looks like alot of the reviewers are homophobic.
And Now For Something Else
I have done a couple reviews for a couple movies on Newgrounds. Unlike most of the people on the site, I try to be thoughtful and constructive when reviewing movies.
I did a review once for Super Matrixo Bros., which was a really bad Mario-based Matrix spoof.
This is my actual review.
One of the stupidest Mario movies
----------------------------------------------------
There are so many things wrong with this movie
1. It is not funny at all.
2. The whole bullet-dodging trick is so overdone
3. Looks like it was put together in a couple hours
This movie is as good as Keanu Reeve's acting.
------------------------------------------------------
I got my first ever hatemail because of this review.
Here it is.
in regards to your review of SUPER MATRIXIO BROS., YOU SUCK!!!! Keanu is a great actor and the trick is meant to be overused. bendeho. shove it, rotate, repeat.
That's all for today
One problem I had with Newgrounds were the idiots who insulted the hell out of people who made bad Flash movies and games in their own opinions. Members of Newgrounds could flag abusive reviews for deletion according to their whistle level. The more someone rightfully flagged an abusive review, the higher that person's whistle would be. A higher whistle level means that administrators are more likely to take note of reviews you've flagged.
One day, I decided to save some of the most insulting and hilarious reviews before they were deleted for good. I had so much fun with this blog that I followed it up with two more blogs.
The review I wrote for Super Matrixo Brothers, a crappy Matrix parody, resulted in the first and only hatemail I've gotten from someone.

Some Highlights of the Weekend
Posted: Sun, 08 May 2005 22:45:50 PDT
Well, it's already Sunday night. Damn, the weekends go by so fast!
Here are some highlights:
Yesterday, I dove into a car like in those action movies. Didn't get hurt at all.
That same day, I got Metal Gear Solid (PS1) and Katamari Damacy. I played Metal Gear Solid later that night. I can't believe how it much it amazes me, seeing how the game was made in 1998. This was the first game ever to get the EGM's Platinum Award, getting 10's from, back then, all four reviewers. The original Metal Gear Solid is still a blast to play.
After playing Metal Gear Solid 3, I found it hard to go back to the original's close-range combat. I tried going up to enemies and pull out some tricks. I either choked them or flip them onto the ground. When doing the latter, 9 out of 10 times I was caught. Then, I'll get killed seconds after running away. I'm sorry to say I am still am the second area.
Today, I got Lumines, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, and Studio 54...I mean Area 51. I couldn't play Lumines, since I won't get my PSP until my birthday, a whopping 12 days away. I plan on playing The Minish Cap tomorrow. So I played some Katamari Damacy. It is one hell of a game. It's easy to pick up, and the soundtrack is superb. Still having a bit of trouble with the controls. And then, I played Area 51. I only played the beginning, so I won't post anything about it yet.
Tonight, I played even some more Metal Gear Solid. Still stuck on the second area.
Worst Part of the weekend: Not being able to see Kung Fu Hussle
This is really a shame because that was one of the things I was looking foward to seeing this weekend. They didn't have it at my closest theaters, at Abacoa, and at Jupiter Cinema (I think that's the name).
Dammit, I'll have to wait until the DVD comes out.
The part about me diving into a car makes no sense unless you were I. This is what I meant to say:
Yesterday, I dove into a car like in those action movies. Well….not exactly. The car was going a little under 10 mph and one of the doors was open. I ran towards the car and jumped in. Didn't get hurt at all.
I did this while I was at my dad's house one weekend.
Abacoa and Jupiter Cinema are two movie theaters in my area.
I didn't play Metal Gear Solid for the PS1 until mid-2005. Better late than never.

I played Area 51 online, for a total of 49 minutes. The clip to my USB headset broke off. I got a clip from the kitchen and taped it to the headset. It works really well. I had one hell of a time playing it online, even though I couldn't understand what everyone else was saying.
11 days until I get my PSP....
Anyone who has played Metal Gear Solid 3 should see this movie:

A couple things
Posted: Tue, 10 May 2005 20:55:09 PDT
First of all, I like to give some advice:
Do not post anything off-topic in comments; save those for messages.
And now, I have good news:
I got my exam schedule today, and it looks like Spanish 1 and Chemistry fall on the first day of exams. That means if I exempt English and Geometry, I'll be done with school after that day.
9 more days until my birthday....
2 months until I can get my driver's license....
So if you see me on the road in the future, don't worry......

...... I am just kidding! I'm not that bad of a driver.
Looking back, that's very bad advice.
Proof: Comments found in GlassAdam's and Smahbro's blogs.

The Art of Final Fantasy IX > Final Fantasy IX Bradygames strategy guide

I was flipping through the pages of EGM, and came upon some featured auction items. I actually have one of these items: "The Art of Final Fantasy IX". I got it a couple years back, and from what I read, I must be damn lucky to have that book.
http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh18/egmmer/1up/0744000416-books-resized200.jpg
I like "The Art of Final Fantasy IX" better than Bradygames' Final Fantasy IX guide. The strategy guide was truely a travesty. Not everything is included in it!. The guide is integrated with Square-Enix's PlayOnline site.
The whole idea is fucked up.
First, you find a blue icon on the side of a certain page. In it is a password.
You log onto PlayOnline.com Congratulations, you need a account! Once that is done, you log in. Type in the keyword, and you finally get the information you need.
Want to know what your characters can learn from using certain equipment? Go to PlayOnline.com. Want the full bestiary? Go to PlayOnline.com. Want a detailed look at the world map? Go to PlayOnline.com.
Great, now when I bring my Playstation2 on vacation, I'll need a laptop for internet access (sarcasm).
The good news is that method died away with the Final Fantasy IX guide.
A personal favorite from the early days.

I just created a deviantART account last night. You can find me at http://triggerhappytaco.deviantart.com
I'll be posting digital art and prose on my page.
In addition, I am now using GameFly. The reason: Way more games are available at the site than your local Blockbuster Video. I am renting one game at a time. I'm excited about using it.

Today is my 16th birthday, and I finally get my Playstation Portable! I am really excited about it! I got Twisted Metal: Head On, Ridge Racer, and Luminies. I also got a screen protector and a USB cable to use iPSP, in addition to getting the Spider-Man 2 UMD movie
In addition, I got my first order from GameFly. I rented Sky Gunner for the PS2. So happy I got it. Great thing about GameFly is, unlike going to a local Blockbuster store, I can get the games I actually want. I'll talk about Sky Gunner in a later post.
I would have gotten my driver's license by then if I didn't wait another year and a half. Oh well.
I turned 16!
PSP Impressions
Posted: Sun, 22 May 2005 17:19:23 PDT
I'm back from camping the entire weekend.
The PSP is the first system to wow me since the original Game Boy Advance. The visuals are superb. I love the big screen, and the graphics are superior to the original Playstation. The sound quality is also superb.
Game Impressions
-----------------------------------------
Luminies: This is a really good game, although not as great like some people are saying. It does have a great audio selection. The gameplay itself is excellent: enjoyable and not too complicated.
The multiplayer is really fun, although it can get unfair. Once you start losing, it is hard to make a comeback.
I ended up using the X button only. Using the other buttons make the blocks go in different directions, which is far too confusing for me.
However, this is a must buy game.
Ridge Racer: My favorite game for the PSP. Ridge Racer shines in the visual department. It takes full advantage of the widescreen, and the graphics are excellent.
The music is bearable, unlike Burnout 3.
The controls are smooth. I never found myself struggling with it.
I don't have anything else to say about this Ridge Racer, other than it is excellent.
--------------------------------------------------
I have not found any dead pixels yet, and I am still trying to configure the network settings.
In addition, Ridge Racer doesn't have an annoying announcer like the one in Burnout 3.
In other news....

The Last Day of School
Posted: Wed, 25 May 2005 22:40:59 PDT
Today was my last day of school. I'll be taking my exams, starting with Spanish 1 tommorow.
My school year has gone by fast, and I'll do a run-thru for all my subjects, in chronological order.
Spanish 1: This was my first year taking a foreign language class. I came into the class with no understanding of Spanish. That soon changed. With the help of my grandpa, I soon became an A+ student in my class. I currently have the highest grade in my Spanish 1 class.
Introduction to Drama: I only had this class first semester. I never really liked this class. Most of the activites I did were boring. Worst part is I had to do studying in that class (gasp!). I had to study Greek drama, and was quizzed on it. Drama should have been more fun than this. Thank god I got switched to another class.
Geometry: The first semester was primarily proofing. From my experience the first half of the year, proofs are evil! The second semester was much easier. Instead of proofing, I did actual math problems. I did better this time around.
English: Probbably my toughest class. I had to work much harder in that class than in anything else. It was alot of reading and anylizing literature. However, I did do well in that class.
Chemistry: Very easy class for me. Didn't do alot of labs. Did extremly well in that class.
Creative Writing: My favorite elective. I really enjoyed the projects I did in my class. I produced alot of great works, and some of them can be seen on my DeviantArt page.
Computer Graphics: Learned to use Photoshop. Some of the projects I made in the class can be seen on my DeviantArt page.
One of the very few blogs I wrote about actual schoolwork.

I finished my Spanish exam 25 minutes ago. It was challenging, but I feel I did well on it. The only exam I have left is english. I'll start studying for English in a couple hours. After that, I'm officially done with 10th grade.
I wrote this blog on one of the school computers in the computer lab. The difference between those Macs and the Macs in the library is that the ones in the library didn't run OS X.

Costco
Posted: Tue, 31 May 2005 21:37:00 PDT
I learned a lesson a couple days ago: It is not a good idea to search for quality games at Costco.
So a couple days ago, I went to Costco with someone who worked with my dad to get some stuff for a party my dad was having. After choosing the coolers, I was able to go on my own to the movies/books/video games section.
I was allowed to pick out some movies and games. Picking out movies was easy: I got Aliens and Star Wars Episodes IV-VI on DVD.
Picking out games was a different matter. The only way you can tell what system the games are for, are the different colors. For example, DS games are identified by orange packaging. I did not realize this until recently. I scrambled through the stacks. Since I was tall enough, I could reach the games placed further back.
Most of the games on the shelves were
# A) Games I already got
# B) Game I did not want to get
# C) Crap
95% of Game Boy Advance games on the shelves were a steaming pile of kiddie and licensed poo. Yes, this includes Pokemon.
The only DS games at the time were Need for Speed Underground 2 and Polarium, the latter I got. I also ended up getting Brother in Arms for Xbox.
That experience makes me wish I got Parappa the Rapper back when they were still selling Playstation1 games.
Seeing how the their video game section wasn't worthwhile, I went to the computer software section, made up of computer security, PC games, and educational software. I got Battlefield Vietnam Redux.
After that, it was time to leave the store. Due to scanning problems and not willing to wait, I couldn't get Brothers in Arms.
Unfortunately, nobody broke off the plastic packaging, so I struggled to get it off at home. Exact same situation as getting the plastic covering off Final Fantasy Tactics a year ago.
Don't shop for games at Costco; your money is best spent elsewhere.
I used to be a Pokemon hater and yes, I bought Final Fantasy Tactics at Costco in '04.

From now on, my blog will be in black font instead of the default gray font.
Tommorow, I am leaving for Whistler, British Columia for a family vacation. That means I may have limited access to a computer.
What's my point? I won't be around here that much in the week or so.
I went on that vacation along with my dad, his girlfriend, the girlfriend's two sons, the girlfriend of one of the sons, my older brother and younger brother, and my grandma Ruth. (dun dun)
Summer
Posted: Fri, 03 Jun 2005 15:30:16 PDT
It's summer for for the past two days.
Here is a rundown of the things I did the last couple days.
# Cleaned out stuff from school. That includes papers I no longer need, workbooks I no longer need, and textbooks the school won't accept. Except for my Spanish book and my notes. I think it would be a good idea to hold on to them.
# Realized how short Katamari Damacy is. Rolling stuff up has never been this fun. Too bad the credits began rolling sooner than I thought. I'm still playing that game.
# Of course, I relaxed.
My summer is going to be an exciting one. First, I am going to Whistler, British Columbia with my family. Then, I will come back to Florida and go camp at Tanah-Keetah, a boy scout camp, for a week. Then, I will go up to Wyoming with my Venture Crew for 10 days. For those who don't know, Venture Crew is just like Boy Scouts, but specifically for older scouts. Soon after that ends, I will fly up to Pennsylvania to go to a sleep-away camp. I will leave halfway through to attend a Boy Scout Jamboree. After that happens, I will fly back to camp. I'll finish camp on the 22nd of August, fly back home, and start school August 23rd, the next day. Sounds like an exciting summer.
Unfortunately, my school requires me to do summer reading. I'll be reading two books, Lovely Bones, and 1984, and answering a three questions for my summer homework.
I may not be around that much during the summer, so look out for updates.
I did the stuff at my mom's house before I left for vacation with my dad.
The summer camp I was talking about is in Honesdale, PA.

I'm blogging from Whistler, British Colombia. I do not have much time, so I say what I've been doing recently.
I played paintball for the first time ever. It was fun, even though I did not hit anybody. I was very good at hiding, and I got hit on the top of the head by a paintball.
I saw Star Wars Episode 3 and The Longest Yard the past couple days.
I can't get internet at the place i'm staying at, so I am using a wireless signal at a hotel.
Just wish they had internet at the lodge. The lodge is still a neat place.
That's all I'll do for today, and stay tuned for updates.
I borrowed someone's computer for this post because I didn't feel like writing it on my PSP.
Back at home
Posted: Mon, 13 Jun 2005 02:31:39 PDT
I'm back at home, after spending a day traveling back from Whistler. I got up early, got dressed, and left the house about an hour later. I sat in the car with my father driving for the next couple hours. I got nervous at times about the way my dad drives.
So I get on the airplane sometime later. This was one of the worst flights I was ever on. I get the seat behind the emergency door. That means the seat won't adjust like the others. $%@#*! federal regulations! Also, the plane ride was bumpy. I was glad when the plane landed. I took another airplane from Houston to West Palm. The flight was so much better than the last one.
Then I found out that my suitcase didn't show up. This really pisses me off. I am crossing my fingers and hoping it did not get lost.
I'm typing this blog 2 1/2 hours after midnight, and I don't feel that tired. Must be used to a different time zone. I had a great vacation, which I will go over in my next post, and I'm happy to be home.
My dad is a god-awful driver. He once ran a red light. Thankfully, there weren't any cops around. Another time, my dad and I were driving home on the Turnpike when we ran into really bad traffic. You know what he did? He went to the very right side of the road and drove past all the cars. Other people weren't too happy about what he was doing and honked at him. Some people even tried to block my dad from passing everyone. He's the worst driver I have ever known.

My vacation
Posted: Mon, 13 Jun 2005 16:01:31 PDT
I mentioned two posts ago that I came back from a family vacation in Whistler, British Columbia. I stayed in a lodge for the week I was there. It was a nice place, even though they did not have internet access.
The weather was a relief from the hot summer in South Florida. Even though it was not snowing in Whistler, the weather was cool. On some days, it rained. Other than that, the weather was good.
My family was supposed to go skiing. Due to certain situations, we ended up not skiing. I ended up doing other activities.
I played paintball for the first time. I played paintball at a place called Whistler Paintball. I played with my brother and two other friends. I got the equipment needed, heard the instructions, and went off to the playing field. The field was filled with trees. It was very easy to find cover. I played capture the flag a couple times. I then moved on to another game, where one team takes out people coming up the hill, and the other team tries to get up the hill and touch the flag. It was always the team on top of the hill who won the game. I had a fun time playing paintball, even though I did not hit anybody.
Another time, my family went on a horseback riding trip. I got a horse and rode through a trail. Everyone went in a single file line. I enjoyed the trip.
Another time, I went whitewater rafting. I went down a river on a raft. It was a high thrills trip. I went through a lot of rapids, and fell off the raft once. This was one of the favorite things I did.
I stayed in the lodge for the entire day a couple times. I spent the time there by watching some DVD's, playing video games, watching tv, or doing my summer reading. Other times I played Scrabble and Monopoly. I always stayed up late. I always found something to keep me busy those days when I stayed at the lodge.
My vacation in Whistler went by quickly. I must had a great time there.
There used to be a time when going on vacation with my dad wasn't a miserable experience. Then again, I used to get along with my dad.
Movie Review Double Feature
Posted: Thu, 16 Jun 2005 13:37:51 PDT
I know it has been a while since I last saw The Longest Yard and Star Wars Episode III. I think it is now appropiate to give my final word on both movies.
Star Wars Episode III went over my expectations. First off, Jar-Jar did keep his mouth shut the entire movie (yipee). The fight scenes were awesome. It also tied up any loose ends concerning the original trilogy and the new trilogy. That being said, Episode III is nowhere as good as the original trilogy. I appreciated the darker tone in the movie, however. I noticed that alot of transition effects were used in the movie. The acting got uneven at times. Still, it is a great movie.
The Longest Yard was a really funny movie. An ex-NFL player gets arrested, and ends up coaching a prision football team. Personally, I don't know that much about football, and I still enjoyed it. I have yet to see the original 1974 version of "The Longest Yard". I'll see if that movie is better than the 2005 version or vice versa.
I have two movies I want to see: Howl's Moving Castle, and Batman Begins. I can't find any showings for Howl's Moving Castle, so I may have to wait until the DVD comes out. I will hopefully get to see Batman Begins.
I wish I saw Howl's Moving Castle in theaters….

My older brother, Brett is going to leave for college today.
I spent a week at a Boy Scout camp called Tanah-Keetah.
I saw The Longest Yard (1974) last week. I have to say the original version is better than the newer version.
I got to play Donkey Konga. I should get the bongo controller for the game.
That's all.
I traded a game for Donkey Konga with someone on 1up, only the copy I got didn't come with the bongo controller. Looking back, I should have never made that trade.
First post in a while
Posted: Sun, 10 Jul 2005 10:53:05 PDT
It's been a while since I have done my last post. I have not been able to get access to a computer for a while, so I am going to talk about what I have been doing the past couple weeks.
I first went to Wyomming for a week with my Venture Crew. It took me one day to fly all the way to Wyomming. When I got there, I went to a lodge, where I stayed for the next two nights. The first day I was in Wyomming, I went to Yellowstone National Park. It was a very nice place. I did see alot of geysers and buffalo. Speaking of buffalo, I did see one charge a woman. The buffalo missed.
The next day, I went to the Grand Tetons High Adventure scout camp. Although the camp was small, it was one of the best scout camps I have stayed at. The staff were nice and the food was really good for camp food.
I did alot of things when I stayed at the Grand Tetons scout camp. I went on a couple whitewater rafting trips and went on one canoeing trip. I went hiking four miles at the Grand Tetons National Park. I also went mountain biking down a hill. That has to be one of my favorite moments. On my way down, it started hailing. I found myself speeding down against a downpour of hail. I also did a low ropes and a high ropes course. My favorite thing there was going on the zip line.
I went to a nearby town called Jackson Hole twice. The first time I went there was one evening during my stay at the camp. I took a funny photo there which I may upload later. The next time I went there was when my Crew left the camp and before my Crew went to the airport. That was my last day in Wyomming. After staying in town for a while, I got to the airport and flew home.
I should have done a blog post when I got home, but I was too busy writing about the trip in my journal. By the time I was done it was to late for me to do a new post.
The day after I got home I flew to my next destination, Summit Camp. Summit Camp is a sleep away camp that takes place during the summer. I am currently in Summit Camp. I am going to be staying there for eight weeks. However, I am leaving in the middle to attend the National Scout Jamboree.
I have already settled into camp, got used to my bunk, and got to know my bunkmates. I am having a good time up here.
There are only two computer sessions per week, and the computers tend to be really slow, so expect a new post every once in a while.
I'll be honest. Summit Camp was a camp for people with ADD, ADHD, and similar disabilities. I had really bad ADHD when I first went to Summit in '97. 2005 was the last year I went to this camp. I had outgrown my ADHD by this time and was normal compared to most of the people at camp. The only reason I went to Summit in the later years because I had a number of friends who also went there. My years at Summit inspired me to write the Yu Gi Oh Brawl and the novel I'm working on right now.
War of the Worlds
Posted: Mon, 11 Jul 2005 12:54:03 PDT
About a couple days ago, I saw War of the Worlds.
Usually, you don't want people talking when you are watching a movie. There are exceptions to this, like when watching a boring movie like War of the Worlds.
In this not so great movie, you have run-of-the mill characters and a really crappy plot. Aliens attack people, and the people can't find a way to defeat these aliens. You know how it ends? The aliens die of a disease!
There, I spoiled the ending. Now you don't have to see it.
I was happy that people were talking during the movie. It made those 1 1/2 hours way more enjoyable.
I heard people say things that made the whole audience laugh. At the beginning of the movie, just when the main title first appeared, someone shouted out "We're all gonna die!"
Another time, when a bunch of dead bodies went floating down the river, someone next to me said, "I see dead people". It also made the audience laugh.
Don't see War of the Worlds. If you do, make sure you bring a pillow.
Some movies are better when watched with friends like War of the Worlds and The Day After Tomorrow. I was watching The Day After Tomorrow with some friends when they showed the last scene of the movie. The camera zoomed out into space, showing a snow-covered earth. I yelled "Merry Christmas!" and everyone burst into laughter.
I'm back

The Best of Newgrounds Reviews II: numa?
Posted: Wed, 14 Sep 2005 00:46:37 PDT
Earlier this year, I ranted about Newgrounds. I then went on and posted some select reviews from Drageost Postei, a really bad Numa Numa parody with 12-year old kids constantly flashing his stomach the camera. It recieved alot of reviews. The thing about Newgrounds users are that most of them do not know how to write an actual review. Instead of reviewing the actual submission, these people will outright insult the author or the submission itself.
Even though alot of the reviews broke review guidelines on the site, some of them were just plain funny. I decided to post some funny reviews of Drageost Postei. Most of the reviews for that movie have been deleted by now.
For this post, I will select my personal favorite reviews of numa? (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/214173). If you haven't seen it already, and you have seen the original Numa Numa Dance, go see it. You may like it or hate it. For some reason, I found numa? funny.
Some other people didn't like it, as you will see in the following reviews:

Sibblings, parents, or extened family... sheep, horses, dogs, cats, monkeys, baby animals of anysort, bugs, donkeys, children (Yes they are animals), or water buffalo... I thought it was amusing, but a waste of time for the sheer fact that so many people have already tried to mimick this video, or tried to make fun of it... Hurricane Wilma is gonna strike my area soon. I just hope that the power won't be knocked out tommorow, and if by any luck, the internet.
If I have learned a life lesson today, it's that Microsoft Works is an oxymoron.
So I was working on an essay contest, when I made a typo (gasp!). I did what a normal person would do, which is to fix up the typo. When I tried fixing it up, the program decided to type over what I was writing. This was the last straw. Sure I had this thing happen to me before, but this time, I really had the urge to strangle my computer monitor.
So I vow to never, ever again use Microsoft Works.
See you, space cowboy.
I was at my dad's house when Wilma struck and had to stay at the house of one of my dad's friend. I lost power later that night and went back to my mom's the following day. I wished I stayed at her house because we never lose power for more than an hour whenever a hurricane passes through my area.
Funny how I forgot about the insert key when I wrote this blog….
Filler Blog II: Fill 'er up! + Games up for offer

I'm now on Sheezyart!
In other news, I am putting Phantom Brave special edition up for trade. The only difference between the special edition and the regular game is that the special edition comes with a bonus soundtrack.
Phantom Brave is a really great game. Yet after having for one year, I still can't "get into the game".
I haven't played it since June, and I might not be playing it again.
If anybody is interested in getting my copy, please drop a comment.
Sheezyart is art site similar to Deviantart. I abandoned Sheezyart not long after I joined it.
I'm glad I never gave away my copy of Phantom Brave.

I just got my 1,000th view today!
Thanks to everyone who has checked out my page so far.
And now for something special: a Public Service Anouncement

I just got Macromedia Studio. This means I can now make Flash-based movies and games!
Great…all that's left is to learn how to use it to make movies and games.

My VCR sucks. Word.
Posted: Thu, 22 Dec 2005 17:53:55 PST
My VCR is an outdated piece of crap.
# It has a built-in VHS player. Thing is, nobody uses tapes anymore. Hell, even Blockbuster stopped carrying them a couple years back.
# I lost my remote control a long time ago. This brings me to my next point...
# My screen is too dark. Really bad when playing video games. A few too many times I couldn't see squat while playing Onimusha 3 on my TV. Without my remote, I am screwed.
# My VCR hates DVD. Every time I play a DVD, the screen flickers. Sure I can play DVDs on my computer, but they are meant for TVs!
I hope my VCR gets struck by lightning, explodes, or gets stolen.
Yes, it is that bad.
Read the next blog to find out what happened a couple days later…
Really Good News
Posted: Sat, 24 Dec 2005 01:34:55 PST
If you read my last blog, I wished my VCR would get struck by lightning, explode, or get stolen. None of these happened to my VCR.
About an hour ago, my screen went kaput. Now, my screen is all staticky, even when the cable box is turned on or off. However, games work fine on my VCR.
Now is a good chance for me to get a new TV.
(Update 2:04 AM)
I am working on my first Flash movie, Ding Dong Ditch. It will finished and ready for Newgrounds by the end of January.
I'm up late 'cause it's Friday, I ain't got no job and I ain't got shit to do.
I never finished the Flash movie and I don't think it would've survived on Newgrounds.
Update

I am taking a trip to Vale, Colorado with my dad to go skiing.
My mom won't let me take my laptop. The point is, unless I can get computer access while I'm there, this will be my last blog for a week or so.
I went on another vacation with my dad. By this time, I got a PowerBook G4, which I have to this day.
Holdiay Gifts / Winter Vacation
Posted: Wed, 18 Jan 2006 20:32:34 PST
Yes, I know it has been a while since the holidays. I finally feel like talking about winter vacation. I'll cover what I got for the holidays and the first day of winter vacation.
(Note: Comments are in italics)
My Holiday Gifts
Cowboy Bebop Remix 1+2
I love Cowboy Bebop; it is my favorite anime. I could go on and on about Cowboy Bebop, but I'll just get to the point. Excellent dubbing, superb character design, and the music is...beyond words.
I recommend starting off with Session One: Asteroid Blues. If you aren't impressed by that, then you are no longer on my "cool" list.
All 5 Dirty Harry Movies
Yes, I know it has been a couple weeks since the holidays, but I haven't had the time to watch any of the Dirty Harry movies.
Dragon Quest VIII
This is the first Dragon Quest game I have ever played. Walking around and randomly beating up monsters has never been this fun.
Meteos
I played this game a couple times, and it is really good. I guess I'll get the most out of Meteos if I use a stylus. Too bad I lost mine
Mario Kart DS
Yet another great DS game. Easy to get into, yet really fun. Online play makes all the difference in this Mario Kart. That is all I will say about this game.
(If you want to add me to your friend list, look up the code at the front left of the page)
Anchorman (Uncut)
Much better than the original version.
$50 Gift Card to Borders
$20 Gift Card to Blockbuster Video
Saturday Night Live DVDs including:
The Best of Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, Tom Hanks, Adam Sandler
A Shirt
Reading Light
Macromedia Studio 8
$10 Gift Card to Best Buy
I later found out the gift card was meant for my older brother, Brett. Because I spent the gift card before I found out, I owe him $10.
I took out the vacation part when I backed up this blog because I felt it was something I could do without. You're not missing out on anything.
That was the list of stuff I got for Christmas at my mom's place and my dad's place.
I had just gotten into anime, thanks to Cowboy Bebop. I remember seeing the first episode on Adult Swim and the rest is history. I got hooked on Cowboy Bebop, which became my gateway to anime fandom. It was also around this time I got into manga, thanks to Fullmetal Alchemist. I picked up Vol 2 at an airport because they didn't have Vol 1 and loved what I read.
I still need to finish all five Dirty Harry movies.
And now for something different
Posted: Sun, 22 Jan 2006 21:57:40 PST
I saw the trailer for the Dead or Alive movie, and boy does it S-U-C-K-!
I can think of worse ideas:
Brokeback Mountain: The Dating Sim
I'll probably see the DOA movie, just to see how bad it is.
I never got around to watching the DOA movie.

How can it get any worse?
Posted: Fri, 03 Feb 2006 21:47:02 PST
Remember when I said I could think of worse ideas than the Dead or Alive movie?
I take that back. The folks at Disney have thought of something much, much worse.
It's terrifying! It's revolting! You might have seen it comming!
It's Bambi II!
I am not kidding.
It should be no surpise. After all, Disney loves to crap out those sequels. But, Bambi II is going a bit too far.
Here is the plot summary for Bambi II (taken from IMDB):
Bambi's austere father, the Great Stag of the Forest, takes his son under his charge when the fawn's mother is killed by hunters. Bambi meets new friends and learns to live in the wild as he grows into a young buck.
I thought Bambi would go Rambo and avenge his mother's death.
What a missed oppurtunity.
Walt Disney must be rolling in his grave right now.
Here are some comments I got on this blog:
do you know what walt disney would be doing if he were alive right now?

My thoughts about the 1up redesign
Posted: Sat, 10 Jun 2006 20:55:47 PDT
It sucks! If only 1up would let me preview my blogs and club posts, then I'd be a very happy person.
For those who don't know, the Awful 1up club got deleted. What a damn shame, as this was my favorite club on 1up. I loved looking through all those awful 1ups, especially game_killer. Too bad a bunch of douches got this club deleted. It was fun while it lasted.
I miss the Awful 1up Club, a club that featured the awesomely bad users and clubs of 1up. It was really fun and most people responded positively to the club. Our biggest highlight was the time when we featured Marc Echo as the Awful 1up User of the Week. We discovered that he was copying and pasting blogs onto 1up from another site. Real classy. Unfortunately, a troll named Danny Moore joined the club, insulted people, and flooded the club with other trolls. The wrong word got to the moderators and the club got the axe. We made sure Danny got banned from 1up for his actions and we were successful in doing so. We rejoiced the day he left for good after returning to 1up under more than 20 alternate accounts.
Hidden Messages
Posted: Mon, 03 Jul 2006 18:15:10 PDT
Xenogears has hidden messages! If you listen to the boss theme song closely, you can hear a voice say "Xenosaga for PS2, Xenosaga for PS2". Does anybody else notice this?
In other news, I'll be out of town until mid-August, so I won't be around 1up that much.
Idea taken from a letter featured in PlayStation Magazine many years ago.
New crap in the works
Posted: Thu, 20 Jul 2006 22:24:39 PDT
I'm working on a short story based on a true story. It's about two kids who get into a fistfight over a Yu-Gi-Oh match. Sad, isn't it?
The story is finished, and I am now editing it. It won't be ready for a month, and I promise it will be better than 95% of the fanfics on 1up.
Edit (9/18/06): This story is delayed until further notice.
Edit (05/22/07): Forget about it. Won't happen.
Update (03/03/2008): The story is going to happen. I can't believe I put this off for so long.
The last of my early blogs before I went on a two year hiatus.
