This city's a dirty place. There's crime, corruption, and filth everywhere...
But the employees of Foxcorp have bigger things to worry about. They've all been forced into a company-wide sensitivity course being held in the conference room of a nearby hotel. This particular group has received more sexual harassment complaints than any other, and so were sent to take a separate, more extreme course.
As they all gathered sullenly in the conference room, a man dressed in what appeared to be a drill sergeant's uniform stepped out.
"So you fuck buckets like harassing members of the opposite sex, huh?! Well, I'm here to change that."
Runepop couldn't help but snicker at the term, "fuck buckets" and as he did the man's gaze snapped sharply to him.
"You think that's funny, private?!"
A cacophony of giggles erupted from the entire group.
"Oh, I see I have my work cut out for me! I will make you into the most respectful and PC of any employee battalion in this U S of A! You can call me Reverend Sergeant Hobo Sir, and I will be your entire world for the-" He checked his watch "next 5 hours."
For what seemed like days the employees went through the horrors of group hugs, sensitivity exercises, honesty exercises and group hugs.
After the 43rd group hug, Reverend Sergeant Hobo Sir stood up suddenly.
"Alright you slime-eating maggots, who just stabbed me?!"
As he spoke a dark red stain spread from just above his navel. The employees looked on in horror.
"I said, who the FUCK just stabbed me?! None of you want to answer to it? No one will fess up? You disgust me."
And with that, he fell flat on his face. Dead as a doornail.
A loud comedy klaxon sounded as a small elderly man ran into the room.
"Oh my goodness, it seems our newfangled 'Murder-detector' has detected a murder! Oh, there he is.
Well, you see, the 'Murder-Detector' will lock down the entire hotel in the case of a murder for as long as it takes to solve the murder... So, we might be here for a while. As an apology, each of you will get complimentary bottle of water in the hotel room you'll have to pay for if you want a bed to sleep in...
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to leave the room and never be seen again. Bye!"
Red Wizard stepped up, "Now wait just a minute! This whole situation is just stupid. What's even going on here? Aren't there other guests here at the hotel? Why do we have to pay for our own rooms? How does this stupid 'Murder-detector' know if we've solved the murder or not? Who are you?"
The old man continued to leave the room, and responded simply with the raising of his middle finger.
Day 1: Reverend Sergeant Hobo Sir has been murdered.

Yowza. Killing a man by stabbing him in plain view while there are 8 other people in the room? That's a pretty gutsy move, killer. I'm actually kind of curious to know how you managed to pull off such a feat. I'll have to remember to ask you about it when we apprehend you -- not if, mind you, but when.
And Red Wizard is the first one to start asking questions, eh? Very interesting. Either he's starting to do a bit of early detective work or he's trying to immediately shift the suspicion elsewhere so we won't suspect that he's the killer. What do you have to say about that, Red?
As for the murder itself...well, I suppose we're all suspects at this point. I mean, we all have a suitable motive, don't we? In just a few short hours, Reverend Sergeant Hobo Sir managed to make all of us hate his guts. But who would hate him enough to kill him? The killer didn't even know this man existed five hours ago. And yet, in the span of just a few hours, the killer managed to conjure up enough hatred for this man to commit cold-blooded murder. We are clearly dealing with a very imbalanced and volatile individual here. Be on your guard, everybody.

08-10-2010, 05:01 PM

So SE is to first start the accusations.
Wrong. I have not accused anybody of anything yet. I was merely making and observation and asking Red Wizard a question. That is not the same thing as an accusation.
How do we know its not you good sir. You can be very underhanded I mean you even have Snake in your name.
Uh...okay? So what? My username is not a reflection of my character or my integrity. Hell, you've been on Foxkei for more than a year and I have yet to see you pop a single rune. Usernames are irrelevant here, sir.
Also Like you said we all Hated him and you described the motivation so well.
Well, it seems kind of obvious why Hobo was killed, doesn't it? It's no secret that we've all grown to despise him over the past few hours thanks to his rather unhealthy obsession with group hugs. Then again, there could very well be an ulterior motive here that we don't know about yet. That would definitely complicate things.
Either way, you seem awfully eager to point the finger of blame in my direction. I must say that I do not appreciate that.
Grand_OoF
08-11-2010, 01:04 AM
Come now gentlemen, let us think about this rationally. Let us not resort to baseless accusations Runepop. As Snake already pointed out, his moniker does not reflect his intentions. Following that logic, we could deduce that you killed the Reverend since you enjoy seeing things go "pop".
How you did that with a knife to the back one will never know.
Let's gather the evidence as it is thus far presented, shall we?
Red Wizard WAS the first one to jump to conclusions. And Runepop followed shortly there after. It would seem suspicious to me that they would be so quick to pass along blame.
But perhaps Ed209 is the culprit. While we were all relatively pissed to be here, He WAS the one with the most to lose since he was caught...er...catching a falling lass by her ass.
But in truth, all of us are suspect.
Bakoren
08-11-2010, 01:10 AM
Can I lose suspect by saying I enjoyed the hugs?
But yes, Runepop you were quick to declare war upon Snake, trying to get us to do your dirty work for you?

End of Day 1
As the employees argued, the clock ran on. As the day shifted into night the employees each slowly made their way to their hotel rooms. SnakeEyez decided to stop off at the hotel bar, you can only take so many group hugs before you need to hit the liquor. After countless virgin margaritas he stumbled to the elevator. He pressed the button on the elevator and waited for it to arrive. With a loud ding the doors slid open and SnakeEyez stepped back in horror.
Someone farted in here! With a loud gasp he entered and rode it up to his floor.
When the elevator stopped he stepped out and wandered around aimlessly. After 3 hours he realized that he was on the wrong floor. Returning to the elevators he pressed the button again.
When the doors slid open, only the yawning maw of the empty elevator shaft greeted him. As he looked down the shaft, a rough shove send him tumbling to his doom.

Oof you seem awfully calm about the entire situation? Care to explain why?
Simple. I have nothing to hide. I know I'm innocent. But I will also be the first to admit that doesn't mean I'm free. Hell, I could be next.
This recent development troubles me. I think Snake was really on to something. Sh**.
Now we have a major clue. Gas. The only problem is whether the fart was from the murderer or simply another patron. I would suspect people who are known for flatuance.....hmmm.
Hmmm...flatus. It's something to look into it. Let's do it man! To avenge Snake!
*EDIT*
Okay guys, let's think this through rationally...if possible. Seeing people get killed off is starting to jar even ME a little bit, but I'm trying to remain focused here.
There are two people who might benefit from this...namely RedWizard and Runepop. I mean, things got a bit heated there before Snake died.
I dunno, we'll see what the fart test results bring us.

08-11-2010, 01:56 AM

Aw crap. That's a good point. I guess we could use an...uh...PKE Meter or something?
Okay, well, so much for that lead. Now what do we do?
Bakoren
08-11-2010, 02:04 AM
Maybe the elevator is the lead? I mean, most hotels I stay at aren't so bad that their elevators don't work. Was it completely cut down? Simply Delayed? Given an AI intellegence and a hatred for its human taskmasters?
But of course, I have no way to test for techniclogical prowess either. I am not really good at this hunting down who did it. for all I know, I could have done it.
Ed209
08-11-2010, 02:45 AM
Gah, not Snake! You will be avenged!
Hmm the prime suspects are Runepop and Red Wizard (eventhough he hasn't posted anything yet...very suspicious...).
Or maybe Bakoren and Oof are suspects. They seem to be a couple of chatty Cathies. Maybe they are in cahoots....cahooting, if you will.
RedWizard
08-11-2010, 02:52 AM
You see, I am definitely not the culprit. The fact of the matter is, Sgt. Hobo and I... were lovers. It would make no sense for me to murder him. I wasn't in this class for sexually harassing women. So yeah. Murdering me would be a hate crime, and any other action taken against me would be considered prejudice. I'm afraid we can't be arbitrarily accusing me of meaningless nonsense. The obvious choice now would be to follow the only logical lead: runepop.
Runepop
08-11-2010, 03:20 AM
But you see it couldn't be me for I was taking a piss in the giant plant at the time. And kinda got it on the wall when he yelled. I agree with Ed Oof and Bokren seem to be very talkative thats never a good sighn Guilt perhaps.
Grand_OoF
08-11-2010, 03:36 AM
What? So first I'm too calm and now I'm too talkative? Maybe I'm just nervous because my friend was just killed and someone...or someones...is picking us all off one by one? Besides, what motive would I have to even kill SnakeEyez? He was a good friend. I gain NOTHING from this.
I will say RedWizard is absolved in my mind. I mean, he was Rev's lover. That makes no sense. Meanwhile, RunePop and Ed209 are trying to point the blame off of them. How odd, considering they were two of the people I suspected in the first place...
And let us not forget the old man! Where's that bastard been in all of this?
Bakoren
08-11-2010, 03:54 AM

End of Day 2
The next day, snakeEyez' body was discovered in the elevator shaft. The employees began pointing fingers left and right. The noise was ear-splitting, but was suddenly interrupted by a loud scraping noise. As they turned, the employees saw the old man clawing his fingernails down a conveniently placed chalkboard.
He spoke up in the resulting silence, "Why don't you all start a vote, to see who you all think is the murderer?"
A mutter of agreement spread through the group until Runepop spoke up, "Hey! Didn't you say you were going to disappear forever? Why have you come back?" The old man approached him and put and arm around his shoulder.
"Well, you see young man, I-" The old man suddenly delivered a swift knee to Runepop's groin, which caused him to double over in pain.
With howling laughter the old man left the conference room.
The employees then gathered around a table and scratched out who they thought was the killer.
Crunkman was voted the most.
The other employees rounded on him and he tried desperately to leave the conference room, but found that the doors were suddenly locked. "Hey now, I haven't done anything!"
Ed209 leaned way down in his face, "Exactly"
They all grabbed him and tied him down using neckties.
Red Wizard looked at the others, "So... now what do we do with him? I mean, it's not like there's any lockable rooms in this joint we can keep him in..."
Bakoren spoke up, "I have an idea."
Crunkman screamed the entire way down.
As the rest of the employees looked over the edge of the roof at his body on the pavement below, Runepop spoke up. "Don't you guys think this makes us just as bad as the killer? I mean, couldn't we have just locked him in a freezer or something?" He was met with silence. Bakoren frowned, "Don't be stupid, of course this is the best thing to do."
Later that night, Bakoren was sitting in his room self-satisfied when a hard knock came at the door. When he turned the handle a shadowed figure burst through the door and landed a hard punch on Bakoren, knocking him out.
When he awoke, the world was spinning... and was quite cold... and wet...
The hand holding the back of his head lifted for a moment, and allowed bakoren to see the toilet bowl clearly.
"Oh, well that explained it."
The hand thrust him right back in and held him until he stopped moving.

Oh man! Bakoren! No!
Ah geez, he was my partner in this. We didn't know who the detective was so we were trying to figure this thing out together and then find that person. Sh**.
Well, now I don't know. Crunkman would have been my guess, but people are still dying, so obviously we're not done yet.
I wouldn't know who to suggest though.
I guess if anyone, I would suggest maybe RedWizard. I mean, I know he may have not killed Rev, but maybe he's not alone. And he too has been suddenly quiet. Only speaking up after Rev's death. Perhaps he begrudgingly accepted Rev's assassination by the hands of his partner while he takes out someone else.
Someone is not who they appear to be.
As for the whereabouts for WM, I got in contact with him. He's just been very busy, but I've been keeping him abreast of the situation...
Oh man, now what?
Runepop

RedWizard
08-13-2010, 11:02 PM
Hobo's death has hit me hard. Also, I've only said like one thing, so I couldn't have been getting hostile from time to time, as there has been only one time. And I wasn't hostile.
No no, none of this is making sense. I think runepop is trying to project his aggressive tendencies onto me, an innocent in all of this. Yes, it makes sense that runepop would do such a thing.
... then again, OoF seems to be in control of this situation. A little too in control. Only somebody with a great deal of knowledge could remain so placid in the face of such horrors. I'm thinking OoF and runepop are both in it. Evil crazies!
Ed209
08-15-2010, 07:42 PM
Well, we have until tonight to vote. There's really not much to go on. There's a pretty good chance we could end up voting off the Doctor or the Detective. If they would reveal themselves, this would be much easier...unless they are already dead/in jail. This is quite a conundrum.
Its either WM, Oof, Runepop, or Red Wizard.
WM hasn't participated, so there isn't anything to go on. Unless, thats his whole plan. Lay low and fly under the radar.
Oof claims he was working with Bakoren. There's no way to prove it and he may be trying to trick us. Hell, he may have tricked Bakoren and murdered him after gaining his trust.
Runepop has been quick to point the finger at others. perhaps because he is the mafioso.
Red Wizard claims to be Hobo's gay lover. Perhaps he killed Hobo in a jealous rage.
Then there's me, a noble citizen with a bad habit of fondling women against their will. I mean sheeeit, if they are gonna dress like that...
This is kinda hit or miss, but I'm gonna vote for Runepop because he seems to be pointing the finger quite often.

Well, isn't that CONVENIENT Ed209?
Everyone of us is a suspect...except you?
That seems awfully convenient.
I have no reason to kill anyone. And while it may be true that you have no direct proof of Bakoren and I working together. But considering we were both accused of being in cahoots because of our conversations, I'd say that's reasonable.
It seems to me you're just as quick to cast blame and then prove your own innocence. ...When in reality you have no proof of either case being true. For all we know, you or whoever IS the Mafioso saw Bakoren and I working together and decided to start offing off the both of us. I could be the next target.
Right now, I have my suspicions...but it seems to me it would either be your or Red.
Runepop
08-16-2010, 03:46 PM
Acusation is the name of the game Ed you prove your own Innocence while finding out who is guily simple as that. I might have somewhat of a Strange method to my madness. But does not mean I am The killer.

Sorry for the delay kids, yesterday really sucked for me.
Red Wizard knocked on Bakoren's door. "Hey, it's me! We were all gonna watch spy movies in the conference room, remember? We're waiting on you!" He was met with silence.
He reached down and turned the handle, finding it unlocked. "Hmm... Shouldn't electronic locks automatically lock back when the door shuts?" When he looked at the door, he found the locks were broken. He's cautiously entered to find Bakoren's head floating in the toilet. "Well... shit."
Movie night was interrupted by shouting and accusations.
After the initial roar died down they angrily wrote down who they thought was the killer. A tie showed Runepop and Red Wizard.
Ed209 looked around confused, "So then, who do we toss?" The rest looked at each other blankly before Wanderingmind produced a coin.
Red Wizard made an interesting design on the road next to Crunkman.
Runepop turned to the others, "Well... That doesn't mean we can't still have movie night, right?"
Ed209 stood at the ancient projector trying to reel the film into it. "I didn't know you needed a college degree to reel film!" Grand_Oof got up, "Here, I'll help you with that."
As Grand_Oof walked to the projector, he took a look at the film. "Oh, well here's your problem, this isn't movie film... THIS IS SNUFF FLIM!" Ed209 had just enough time to turn his head when Grand_Oof wrapped it firmly around his neck.
Runepop jumped up, "It was Grand_Oof the whole time! Wanderingmind, if we work together we can take him down!"
Wanderingmind simply sat there, and slowly raised a bloodstained staple remover.
"So, it was you that killed Reverend Sergeant Hobo Sir?!"
A simple nod answered him.
"Oh God..." Runepop made a break for the door, but Wanderingmind pounced on him and began removing runepop's life-staples.
A loud comedy klaxon sounded again and a computerized voice sounded through the intercom, "Murder Mystery solved. Lockdown ending."
Grand_Oof and Wanderingmind looked at each other. "Here's to never having to group-hug again, eh?"
Wanderingmind nodded, and they both exited the hotel.

08-16-2010, 09:20 PM
Well, fiddlesticks. I've been keeping up with the game since my elimination, and you seemed to be the least suspicious of the group, Alex. Now that I look at it, though, this...
As for the whereabouts for WM, I got in contact with him. He's just been very busy, but I've been keeping him abreast of the situation...
...seems awfully suspicious. Well played, sir. Well played. Did you really reach out to Bakoren and trick him or did you just mention working together because you knew he wouldn't be able to object after his elimination?
I was the Detective, by the way. I investigated Ed209 first because I figured we could work together like we did in the last game, but someone had to go and put the kibosh on that right away. I wanted to warn you, Ed209, but that would have been against the rules. That's the way the cookie crumbles, I guess. Which one of you was the Doctor, though?
Anyway, congrats to Alex and Devon for outsmarting the rest of us schmucks. I do have to make a suggestion, though. In future Mafia games, can there be some sort of post minimum to ensure that things stay active? Like, say, you have to post at least once a day or once every other day or something or else you're automatically eliminated? I don't mean to knock WanderingMind or anything, but he never posted during the game at all. Not even once. How are we supposed to get a feel for his intentions in the game if he never even says anything? That just doesn't seem fair to the rest of the players. You've gotta stick your neck out every now and then or else we all just end up sitting here doing nothing and the game gets boring.
ReverendHobo
08-16-2010, 10:16 PM
Yeah, this game didn't have enough active participation. I'll incorporate your crazy post minimums.
Also, Bakoren was the doctor, so great job Oof on eliminating the detective and the doctor in the first two turns.
Even better, Bakoren was going to save himself at first, but then decided on someone else at the last minute.

*Smokes a cigar*
*In an Al Pacino voice* That's how you play the game kids. Hoo-ah!
In all seriousness, good game everyone. Thanks and many kudos for a fun one.
To answer your specific questions Snake, the reason I said that about WanderingMind was actually because, in all seriousness, I hadn't heard from him, because he had been busy. I was more or less calling the shots.
Also, I had no idea you were the detective or Bakoren was the doctor. Now that's what I call beginner's luck. But yes, I did convince him that I was trying to help him, but to his credit, he didn't tell me that he was the doctor when I asked. And I just offed you off first because you were getting nosy. I had to put a stop to that.
Well done job to everyone, especially Rev and his funny story!

Well, any idea when you guys would want to start another game?
I'd definitely need to add in some post/vote requirements first.
