Well, for all few of you that check in here, this is were I'll do all my me-time posting here. My "!" thread in the intro section didn't make sense a long time ago, so I migrate!

So...

I don't blog here, but I'll just be summarizing here.
Bwa! I'd start now, but I don't have much. It's just good to have this to remind me.

EXCLAMATION!

Updates soon!

Hmmmm~ Thought you already had a Dear Foxkei thread.

Nope. It's in the Introduce Yourself section. I just kinda went back there over and over instead. hahaha

Now I'm here!
I'm working on stuff to get here sometime soon now.

-=-=-= EDIT! =-=-=-

Also, I just pounded out about 20 pages of awesomeness in Word. In size 10 Times. Go me.

GAH!

Today has an update.
Apparently, the restaurant where my sister works fired one of the guys in the back the other day. She didn't tell me, but took my brother in for the job.

I mean, good for him and all, but he's 16. I'm 20 and I've been out of work and looking EVERYWHERE for months. I didn't even get a second thought.

I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.

On I walk...

"!"!"!"!"!"!"!"

EDIT!

I just found out 1up now allows blocking!
No more trolls, bitches! That's a bit of a pick-me-up.

Not the edit! That rocks.

But the rest? Yeah, that sucks hardcore.
I've been looking for work for SO LONG. I'll apply to do anything, at any hours. Even fast food. I have a food handling license already.
But I can't get hired because I don't have a lot of experience, which is blocking me from experience.

It sucks, because everyone else is looking for work too, so they can get a guy with a bit more experience easily, even if I'm willing to work harder or longer.

I'm getting absolutely crushed, and it sucks.

KomodoAce

That's what pisses me off.

How the hell are you supposed to GET experience if employers won't hire you in the first place so you can GET experience.

I wouldn't have even gotten my first job if I wasn't related to the owner of the place.

Yeah. And this place where I just missed out on a job is my family's ONE in anywere. At all.

My dad knew the owner since he was a teenager, and my sister's worked there for over a year and a half.

Re: Sister

That's pretty funny.

In all seriousness though, I hope you find a job that you end up enjoying Jester. I didn't have any success looking for jobs in the Omaha area (about 800,000 people or so with suburbs), but I moved back to Central Nebraska and I started getting job offers. Right now I work at a convenient store full-time and Menard's part-time. I'm not saying that you need to move out to the boonies to find a job (because I DON'T live in the boonies), but continue to hold your chin up and show those employers why you are the man.

Okay, I've got three things to put here for now. Most of it's just random. Feel free to pick and choose at it.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

1- Raise your hand (reply to this[even with just a word]) if you check this thread. I'm about to get to an actual blog, and I'm wondering if I should even bother with it here at foxkei.

2- I've been in a thinking-kinda mood lately, and it inspires a lot of random ideas. Like when I play a game, and a character around their own house/other area has their own music. So, what kind of music would you choose for your BGM? More specifically, stuff you'd use when you're just hanging out?

3- Speaking of music, I doubt anyone here will do this, but I hope someone will.

YouTube- Fahrenheit OST - Carla's Main Theme

Anyone that's got a few minutes should open that. It's about a minute of music, no vid. Listen to it, then restart it, and listen with your eyes closed. I wanna know what people get from that. If you think it's stupid, can't explain, or anything else, then don't bother!

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Ar! I have a few updates for once!

A few days ago I went down to Borders for the first time in a few years. I haven't had anything new to read in a while, and I ended up leaving with a book called "Johnny Got His Gun" by Dalton Trumbo.

http://bizarrefilms.blox.pl/resource/johnny_got_his_gun2.jpg

YouTube- Metallica - One (Video)

The Metallica song "One" is based off the same idea and used a bunch of footage from the movie for it's music video.

I finished it the next night (ran right through it), and it was pretty interesting. It's hard to say 'good' when the book is based off such a fucked up idea, though.

The book is about a soldier from WWI that loses his mouth, nose, eyes, hearing, his arms, and legs in the war. The last thing he remembered was being in a trench, and then he woke up unable to see or hear. As a consciousness without the ability to do anything.

The author didn't use a lot (read as: ANY) commas, so it was kinda hard to get used to reading at first, but the idea is kinda scary and interesting and made a good read. I would recommend it.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Outside of that, I've been killing some time by drawing and writing for fun. I cut a ten page sample off a word document I've had on my computer forever if anyone wants to read it, but I doubt it. Hahaha

Anyway... I think that's about it.

From what I know, I'll disappear again after Sunday, but should be able to spawn again around here in July. "!"
Until then!

JesterDK

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about myself. It hasn’t been something in an egotistic way, a self-improving way, or anything like that. I’ve just been observing and thinking of the things I enjoy, prefer, idolize, want, don’t want, dislike, or respect. Despite having a general “I don’t know” conclusion with most things, I have scraps of stuff that I think I’m going to list for no particular reason other than that I can.
Creating is something I think I like. Maybe not in every aspect, but I like to draw, plan, come up with ideas, and try to make something interesting and plausible. Plausible might not be the right word here… Let’s see what the computer gives me as its synonyms. “Probable” came up. That feels like a better word for what I meant, but it’s still not right. Never mind then.
How many of you have played “The Sims”? I never really liked the way that game worked overall. It felt just like a list of stuff you constantly had to do to stay normal. Plus there was lots of peeing. Oh dear god, could those little fake people pee. Anyway, part of the game I did love though was the creative stuff. Making characters and especially building houses to fill a neighborhood with kept me busy and entertained for good periods of time. When the time came to actually play though, I couldn’t. The want was gone. It left me for a younger, better, almost-as-attractive man, and I was stuck with a little virtual guy that spent 5+ hours a day on the toilet.
On a somewhat connected thought, another thing I’ve started to really enjoy is writing. I don’t particularly care about the finesse aspect of writing, the correct way to structure a sentence, or anything like that, but I like to consider myself well-worded, and like splaying them out to portray things
A long while ago, I started a story on the computer. After a while, I learned that, like with The Sims, I was more entertained with creating the concept and coming up with ideas for it than really typing it, but writing it was still entertaining. Being able to read through a story that you started up with strange ideas that you just shaped around was pretty cool, and even though it never really seemed exactly how I wanted it, I liked it. Of course, then there are things like this document, which is just one long string of thoughts dripping out of my head-holes, down my arms, and off the keytappers.
I also like drawing. It might not be as impressive as truly seeing, but it offers different things. Read as: wrist cramping. Drawing lets me create, replicate, or rework anything in my head into a visible piece that other people can see and dislike! Taking descriptive words or thoughts and changing it to a visual thing that other people and I won’t see the same way again, or even the same way as each other. The idea was sold to me, by a man with a smile that said “Hey look! I can smile!”*, so I draw from time to time.
Something about me that I realized a while ago was that I just don’t care about most of the people in the world. Not that I’m against them, exactly, but there’s a definite indifference towards everyone I don’t know or see. I’m going to assume most people are that way.
I’m a small crowd guy. I like having a few really good friends and some acquaintances. I’m totally fine talking to strangers like I’ve known them, sharing jokes and stories, etc… but the masses of people out there are people I’m fine keeping as general acquaintances. I don’t like to party, or do crazy things, or go out the way most people do. The basic idea of just hanging out or talking to a friend or two keeps me satisfied enough, and, more importantly, away from all the people in the world that like to do stupid sh…tuff.
All the above said, I can’t say I really don’t like knowing or knowing of these crazy people. It’s hard not to like good stories, even if they’re something I would never want to see happen, let alone do. I just don’t want to deal with people that want to involve me in any way with said crazy things. If I were to describe myself, I don’t think I’d say I was overly cautious, or careful, but maybe just a little bland in the adventure department. The stories are always better to hear when they’re not about you, aren’t they?
I don’t really like pessimists. Hmm… that sentence seems a little off, doesn’t it? How about “I really don’t like being around pessimists.” That’s much better. Generally, I like to enjoy things. Not seeing the bad parts of life, or just accepting them and choosing to ignore them like that weird kid from your high school biology class keeps morale higher, hair on your head, and energy up, and cures cancer**. I don’t want to put up with someone that’s always complaining, criticizing, judging, or even just frowning. It brings me down, and makes me just want to sit around and be dissatisfied. What fun is that?
One last thing I don’t like; politics. That includes republicans, democrats, and people that just sit around praising or criticizing sides. I don’t like that so many people look at the most simplified lines of what one side can stand for, and stick with whatever that side throws them. This goes beyond politics, too. I really, really, really don’t want to get far into it, because I know governments, elections, and etc. are important, but I just don’t like how it tends to work sometimes. On the other hand, what do I care? I really shouldn’t. I have a deal for everyone who has a side or likes talking about politics. It’s simple! If I say I don’t like it, would it be okay to avoid it around me? In exchange, I’ll keep up the whole not caring thing. I don’t talk about some video game I liked to my grandma for the simple reason that she doesn’t care about it. Sometimes problems are so easy to avoid! Like runaway steamrollers.
Some random things I really enjoy are humor, a near-abandoned street at dusk (or just dusk in general), people that yell at strangers as they drive past, a well told and creative story, and things I can experience over and over and still enjoy at least as much as I did the third time. Also, I like music. Maybe not all genres and styles, but I really love some of it, and like hearing how other stuff gets set up. I can usually find at least a few things in a song that I like, even if it’s just a progression or something and not the music or lyrics.
I think it might be time for me to post this junk instead of going on. Here comes the part where I post it, agree with it, and in just a few hours, might disagree with a bunch of it. Or at least disagree with how I worded most of it. That happens all the time. Isn’t it strange how your mind can always be in the same field, but never really in the same spot like that?

Oh, and I’m sorry I didn’t really try and make this more entertaining. It was just one of those times where I felt like typing something out, and let it come out the way it did without really adding more thought to it. The process entertained at least half of me though, if not you! That’d be the half with an older, well-dressed and well-worded gentleman sitting in a leather chair studying a book thoughtfully while he strokes his finely groomed moustache. Not the half that was probably created in a 45 MPH bicycle accident as a kid.

Assuming that living for millions of years was plausible, do any of you here think that losing and regaining sanity multiple times would be possible too?

Kinda random question, but I'm... invested, I guess, in the idea right now. Opinions?

GlassAdam
09-24-2010, 08:56 PM
An intriguing question. And in my expert, professional opinion I would say that, yes, there is definitely the possibility that one could lose and regain sanity multiple times over the course of a million-year lifespan. It would be, I think, like coming in and out of consciousness when one is very sleepy-- you're aware for a while, then you nod off, then you're aware again. I think the two ideas are similar.

And, like I said, I'm an expert at neuroscience and brain physiology, so...

JesterDK
09-24-2010, 09:00 PM
It seems plausible to me. I don't know if you can really lose your mind and regain it, but if you CAN, then you definitely could over millions of years, right?

Small updates again!

-Jury Duty is way over. About a month ago. We got 48 votes out of 48 to impose the death penalty. Crazy stuff.

-I now have something of an internet source set up here. It's not perfect, and I can't be around all the time, especially for the next little while, but that's something, right?

-My friend and I started making animations out of pictures we're taking in MGS: Peacewalker. It's more slideshow-with-story than it is animation, but whatever. It's content over quality, but I like it. We have two done so far, and we're working on our third. So far over 300 images are set aside for it, and the script is being written.

You so skimmed. It was 48 yes votes on questions related to the death penalty being given.

There were actually only 38 days of jury duty, but they were 8 hour days, five days a week, and with some breaks put in that ended up spreading it out a lot more.

That's what you get for having to fly testimonies in from Iraq.

What'sa Job Corps?

JesterDK
05-04-2011, 09:57 PM
What'sa Job Corps?

Job Corps is a government program that offers career training if you fall within an age limit and qualify as low income according to the government(which is REALLY low).

You live on campus, they pay for living, the training, provide meals, and you get about $50 a month on top of it for whatever you need.

The sucky part? All the centers are in the middle of nowhere, you don't really get a chance to leave, the scheduling sucks (you have HUGE gaps in the day with nothing to do, and you're kinda stuck there), you don't 'move in', you just have a few things you can bring, and it can go from anywhere around 8 months...

...to two years like that.

It's a good program overall, but I'd so rather just get a job so I could stay in town, near my family, friends and stuff.

I would rather flip burgers at McDonald's right now, honestly. Especially since this isn't guaranteed to even help you find a job once it's through.

But whatever. Something needs to change, I guess.

I'm in the process of being accepted. I should be able to fully enroll in early June.
Until then, I'm looking for work still. Whichever comes first is what I'll do, I guess.

...and I offered all my friends and their friends $50 out of my first check if they help me get hired. Maybe it should be $100? Hahaha

So, my life just took a turn on a whim last Friday.

Thursday night I got a call from a family member down in California about heading down for the summer (maybe longer) for some work. I'd get some money, job experience, and some more that I wasn't getting. Saying that it sounded good, I found out I was leaving the next morning.

...So as of Friday afternoon, I'm living in northern California for a while, near Napa. At least the next few months.
Don't have internet or phone service where I'm staying, but I'm working on it. I'll keep updating here, even though nobody cares.

Things I've done already:
-Walked on a billionaire's property
-Tanned and burned in the lesser part of a day because I wasn't paying attention
-Wrote a chapter of a story in my head
-Absolutely nothing at home. Woo!

Are you going to be the innocent shirtless pool boy who gets seduced by the billionaire's lonely middle-aged-but-still-hot wife?

Who knows!

And Heiae, it's far from cool in any way. I have little to do but complain about it so far. Even though I'm actually getting stuff done here. "!"
I'll just post my update now.

So now I'm sitting at about the two-and-a-half week mark of my stay in California. After being here for a while, I've realised a few things.

1- Everything here is still way more expensive.
2- Choosing to stay here from mid-June through the rest of Summer is a MISTAKE. It is dry, intense 110 degree direct sunlight I'm stuck working in almost every day, and I've seen a whole ONE cloud since I got here. I'm an Oregon-person! I'm not made for this!
3- People do everything differently here. So far, I've noticed that they spend free time differently, drive differently, and... do stuff I can't talk about in this forum. Differently.
4- Living in California (though I guess this could kinda apply anywhere) and 30 minutes from the nearest town, as well as 10 minutes from cell service, with no internet, SUCKS. Thank god for laptops. Especially laptops with 1173 songs and Tecmo Super Bowl on them. "!"
5- People with a lot of money (7-10+ figures), don't give a shit where it goes as long as they're giving it out and it's not being taken from them.
2- Too much heat makes me lose count.
6- "I'm gonna crucify him. Real bad."
7- Every time you're woken up by construction workers, they're usually starting that early for a damn good reason, and they don't wanna be there either. If it's after 8, you're better off just being annoyed instead of complaining. (My dad works in construction down here)
8- Best job ever: Property Overseer. We know a guy down here that oversees a vaction house for a billionaire couple. He makes 6 figures a year, gets a free house with no bills on the property, and all he has to do is make sure nobody breaks in or rips off their property. Holy hell.
9- I forget what I had to say here. I blame heat. Guahsgfa

Oh, and two more things worth noting. The day before I was invited to stay here (two days before I left), I found and bought copies of Shenmue II and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey for the XB. They were $10 total, so that's pretty cool. The only problem is that I don't have my XB here. So I get to wait for (probably) a couple of months before I can start them. Superfunz.

Well, that's it for this update. More at a later date, but don't be surprised if it takes a while. This library is 35 minutes from where I'm staying, and it's the most convenient internet. Ugh.

I think I'm retiring this thread. New one!
