...You know what.

YouTube is an ass. They should have never been sold to Google because now everybody wants to sue their copyrighted crap to get some money.

Look at this bullshit:
http://www.foxkei.com/imgupload/imgs/arx1231356338y.png

And this is the video they're talking about:

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/32139.html

Nobody is even SINGING! What they hell are they copyrighting for? It's a Christmas song! It's like saying Happy Birthday song is copyrighted.

I'm so glad I decided to upload on GT as well. Hell, they have higher quality anyway.

Haha The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is gonna getchoo!

Seriously, though-- that's just dumb. It could be said that the video is your way of showing fandom for both the anime AND the song... Which is to say that this is a shitty way of them showing appreciation for their fans.

I'm so glad Hulu is gaining lead in Tube wars. Soon, YouTube will be obsolete... then they'll be begging people to upload their videos on their site.

Hulu is awesome.

Hooray youtube...picking on the little guy!

My AMV's have licensed music in them..I never got no letter...

My Anita King one is actually popular....(Which is good...It's one of my projects...I still think is good....I'm my own worst critic)

It's got 5 stars, 813 views, and 7 comments...I'm so proud...(In fact...search "Anita King" and it's the first result...)

Nooooo! I liked your Bells of Shaman King so much that I added it to my favorites. That really sucks. At least we can still watch it on GT.

And this is why you don't see me posting videos at Youtube anymore.

Well, this and the elitist douchebags who think I suck at all games because I didn't know exact frame data for TMNT:TF on the NES the first time I played it. That kind of shat's what drove me away.

It may not be a legit complaint from TSO, though: quite a few people have had videos taken down due to dickery and false claims from AVGN nazis, and from jackasses who can't stand seeing someone else get a better rating than them.

Damn....

I wish there was more Hard News on Revver.

Damn....

I wish there was more Hard News on Revver.

They used to post everything on Revver... Then Blip showed up and screwed up everything. Blip might have higher quality but the freaking videos don't even load up half the time. Grah. Its a waste I tell you.

If you're talking about youtube then you're referring to the irate hack. James Rolfe doesn't have any AVGN videos on youtube anymore. He might have his other personal works, but AVGN is now hosted almost exclusively on GT. And all his older youtube videos were moved to myspace video, of all places. But yeah, you're probably thinking irate hack.

"Grah"? That's awesome. Just like the time you said "gonk!"

Well, the joke's on them. They had me AudioSwap the original with some crap from their library in order for them to unblock the video.

So here's what I did:

I watched the swapped video anyway. It makes for great background music.

THAT WAS ME!!!!! Man you have no idea how much that pissed me off! I didn't upload them to anywhere else because YouTube was the bee's kness and all that crazy jive. I lost those videos forever. It really had me heated.

AudioSwap? Who wants to do that? They don't even have much to choose from.

YouTube can suck a fat one.

I hear you.

The sad part is that all the videos that use copyright songs will be taken off eventually. You'd think it's not possible because it will take too long, but alas, it's not like they have people sitting in front of computers watching every video.

Have you heard of Shazam? It's an application (for phones) that tells you the name of the song that's being played. You hold your phone near the source of the music and it can recognize what song it is. How does it do it? It analysis the pattern of the song with the library of pre-analyzed songs. It cross-references them and gives you the top matches.

That's how YouTube is flitering their videos. If it recognizes a song that's marked as copyrighted, it flags it for their mods and BOOM: video gone.

That's why I'm amazed my Ranma AMV is still up...

I used a Weezer song...they are pretty very well known...

GlassAdam

I betcha my MGS vids are safe forever. The Frogs are... well, let's just say they're not the most well-known band on the planet. They are well-liked, though, especially by the lead singer of The Smashing Pumpkins!

It reminds me of how Deviantart won't allow copyrighted music in any Flash movies uploaded to that site.

My "Weird Montage" video, on the other hand, uses a Beck song... But it is a secret song 10 minutes after the end of the final track on a lesser-known Beck album. So maybe I'm safe?

Umbrae
01-12-2009, 03:10 AM
All they need is 15 seconds of untouched music. If your video has at least that much, it can recognize it.

WanderingMind
01-12-2009, 03:18 AM
There goes most of the videos on Youtube....

GlassAdam
01-12-2009, 03:21 AM
My phone has song recognition. Maybe I'll test it out there to see how safe I am.

Ah, screw it-- the videos aren't that important, nor are they really any good! :D

Omg That Music Is SOOOO Funny. Youtube did that crap to me with a Nightmare Before Christmas song.... Maybe they're just anti-christmas?

They had a list of songs and I just clicked randomly.
