Vincent is introduced to a man named Hauer, and learns some truths about Halos and Proxies, discovering a horrific revelation.
Vincent wakes up in a mansion where he was being taken care of by a guy named Hauer. He explains to Vincent that they’re in Asura Dome and that Hauer is the ruler of this city. Everything seems fine until Pino wonders off and finds the same AutoReiv knights that were attacking Halos in the previous episode. Shocked, Vincent asks Hauer about this and this is when Vincent’s foundation is shaken.
Hauer introduces himself as Kazkis Proxy, the Proxy of Sunlight. Hauer tells him that the Senex Proxy Vincent killed (in this episode) was Hauer’s lover, but now that she’s dead, Hauer wants Vincent o.O
Obviously, Vincent doesn’t know what the hell Hauer is talking about, so he runs away from him and tries to escape from the city, but alas. Hauer filled with rage after realizing Vincent killed his beloved Senex without even knowing what he was doing, transforms into his true form, the Kazkis Proxy, and begins to beat up Vincent.
While beating Vincent to death, Kazkis keeps asking him who and what “agent” he is, but again, Vincent doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Kazkis is about to finish Vincent off when Vincent remembers Re-l and suddenly his true form awakens.
Vincent has turned into the Proxy we saw in episode one who attacked Re-l in her house. Vincent and Kazkis fight for a bit, but Vincent seems a lot stronger. After a little while, we see Vincent’s hand pierced through Kazkis body. While dying, Kazkis asks him the same quesion again, but this time Vincent answers: “My name is Ergo Proxy. And I am the agent of Death”.
Vincent leaves the city and goes back to his ship where Pino was waiting for him. Vincent is surprised when he finds out that Pino knew all along that “there are two Vincents”. And what’s more shocking is that Pino wasn’t afraid of Vincent. When he asks why, she says “because you’re the one who always helps me”.

Yay~ Glad someone liked it. I was planning on giving up blogging these since no one was commenting on them, but now I changed my mind ;]
I just realized the full-size images weren’t working, but now it’s fixed. Feel free to use them. They have watermark on them, but I’m sure you’ll be able to Photoshop it out. I’ll make the watermark smaller from now on.

About Kazkis Proxy (Kazkis Hauer), were the animators influenced by Brad Pitt’s character from the movie Legends of the Fall? I am pretty damn sure that there were shots of the Proxy’s human face that unmistakably resembles Mr. Pitt’s countenance!
The title for this episode is also the title of one of my favorite episodes from an equally brilliant and well made anime, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Wine was also prominently featured in both episodes. An innovative way to use wine terminology to name an episode! =)

Ha ha. I never made that connection. He really does look like Pitt’s character in that movie.
Man, I keep telling myself to watch GitS, but it never happens.

GitS (L)
The universe is fuller than the desertic land of EP for sure. And the philo, historic, psycho references are more presents. Rich, deep series and movie ! (L) And the Opening anthem are Fa-bu-lous !
I really enjoyed the series after watching all the episode + the 3 movies.
The chara and the story from the movie and the series aren’t exactly the same, and it is very interesting to watch the both !
I recommand to watch GitS in this order:
- GitS – the first movie
- GiTs Stand Alone Complex – (=first season)
- GitS – the second movie (Innocence)
- GitS SAC 2nd Gig (= second season)
And to finish, the 3rd movie that have a lot of connexion with the first movies, even the heroes are from the series :)
So, in conclusion, don’t miss GitS, it’s really awesome, even it takes time to put into place !
Gosh I’m so sorry for my English ! I stopped learning it two years ago ! :’(
