First impression on Tokyo Magnitude 8.0: I like it. Shit-load of pictures after the jump.
Story revolves around a young girl named Mirai, her younger brother Yuuki, and an unknown female motorcyclist who I believe is going to be playing the mother figure in this show.
The anime is apparently very well researched; the developers have done their homework regarding Tokyo, earthquakes, and victims of earthquakes in real-life. I’m really curious to see how they depict Tokyo after a terrible disaster like this.
Thoughts: I really like how realistic the characters and their behaviors are; specially Mirai and her family. Mirai is very mature for her age and so she understand things or behaves in a way most kids her age don’t, so she gets frustrated when adults treat her like a kid.
But don’t get me wrong, this is not another one of those shounen crap anime filled with hormones and macho shit. Watch the show and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
A scene that really impressed me was when we see Mirai alone in the bathroom in tears and she asks herself: “why am I always angry?”.
