Went to Borders today right after school to pick up Shaman King volume 19 and what I saw there really surprised me.
At long last, one of the most amazing volumes of Shaman King was released this month: Au Revoir Mt. Osore. This is part one of the Osore Arc where we learn about Anna’s past, her powers, and she met Yoh. It’s really an amazing and interesting volume. The other volume, which will be released in January, concludes this great arc for us with a big surprise.
Don’t know how many of you guys know this (I certainly didn’t know about it), but Yen Press has picked up The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. They have actually picked up a great number of titles: Soul Eater, Bamboo Blade, Black God, and a lot more! Here’s a list of all their titles so far.
So Yen Press has now officially became my favorite manga publisher. Why, you ask? There are four reasons:
1. They’re not editing and censoring stuff out
2. They’re not changing SFX to English, but rather put a Romaji of the Kana SFX and a small English SFX above it
3. They have a Translator’s Note page at the end of the volume
4. They kept the colored pages!
Take a look at these pictures to see what I’m talking about:

hmmm…awesome…I was wondering which publisher was finally gonna nab bamboo blade and souleater!!!
But still, vertical is my fav. publisher, cause they have translated all my old school favs. This includes dororo, Buddha, and black jack.
I still have to finish hellsing though…..whenever it finishes in America that is.

I heard they got a lot of really neat titles. I think I might pick up the Haruhi manga. I’m so helpless in the face of Haruhi stuff.

Yep…I’m reading through my backlog of manga. I still have to read Hunter x Hunter 1, xxxHolic 6-10, Fullmetal Alchemist 5, D.Gray-Man 1, Once Upon a Glashma, Chobits 7-8, Air Gear 1, Hellsing 9, Gunsmith Cats 4, Gunsmith Cats Burst 1, and Negima 2-3. I have a lot more back at home, but that’s what I brought with me to college.
