July 12, 2008. I’ve been waiting for this day! Solid Snake’s final chapter begins(ends?) today. Today is the day we’ll finally understand the whole story and saga of Metal Gear. I’m getting excited just by writing these. So many things are waiting to be answered and revealed. I cannot wait!
By time you’re reading this, the game’s been out. I’m actually writing this blog a day before though since I know I won’t be around much once the game’s released. If you have a PS3 and have not yet picked up the game, then shame on you. This is big, this is a historical event… go buy it!
I’ll update this blog later today (the 12th) with some pictures I’m planning on taking while picking up the game. I hope many people show up~ It’s just too bad my local GameStop weren’t doing a mid-night launch~
For those who bought the game, share you thoughts (but no spoilers please!). What do you like most about the game? What’s the most exciting new feature? etc.
I was planning on blogging the game as the story progressed, but I’m still deciding on that. Or I could jot down notes and whatnot and then blog a review~ Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Oh, and share your thoughts on the new layouts (homepage and the blog section)~

I HATE that ‘courage is solid’ trailer. It’s so damn cheesy. I mean it. That particular voiceover guy is terrible. But more than that– games need to stop desperately trying to favorably compare themselves with movies in the eyes of the mainstream populace. Shitty Movie Voiceover Guy is a glaring example of just that– games trying (and failing) to be movies. They’re not movies, so why make trailers that look like that?
That trailer would’ve been great if it had been missing two things: Shitty Movie Voiceover Guy, and that retarded tagline “courage is solid”. Just give people the unbelievable gameplay (and cut-scene) footage, put some epic music over the top, and you’re done.
Ugh, can you tell I hate that trailer? I mean, it makes me just wanna laugh at the game, not take it seriously as a piece of entertainment that I might want to shell out 60 bucks for (or even 460 bucks, if I’m gonna have to buy a PS3 on top of it). If the trailer took the game seriously, then maybe random people watching it might do the same.

I think you and Alucard should have a race to see who can beat the game first. Then the winner could carry around a pimp cane and call himself “King Metal Gear” or something.
